I picked up the generator and now I need a mount. I see 3pt carryall for a $100. Are these sufficient for the gen? I realize that I will have to make a mounting board for the gen. Are they strong enough for the twisting force? Thank

I can't vouch for all of them, but I should think most would be strong enough.

I've got the 7500W NT generator. Bolted a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to a carryall bought at TSC then bolted the generator to that. It works great. You should be able to get a drive shaft for it at TSC.

I just got some more info on the unit. It is 4 years old never used. No carrier or shaft. I can get it for$550. Is this a good deal?

A couple hundred foot pounds max running torque. Not so much. You always want to spin/start it up smoothly tho in any case to avoid a significantly higher peak during acceleration . I have the lightest duty driveshaft made on mine so Im naturally careful on startup.

I am going to order the carryall and the shaft at the same time. Any idea what length shaft I should get?

Sketch up your situation, and do the math...or buy one too long and know you have to cut it...your choice.

I did the sketch and the math, and I found I needed to cut a little, but I knew it in advance. I may have saved a buck or two buying the shaft closest in length to my needs to begin with though.

My tractor is a BX, so getting pretty persnickety pays off when you are smallish to begin with. My genny is bolted to its custom pallet, and obviously I want the genny stored in prime dry clean real estate, so optimizing it's storage size was important. My pallet sits on a dolly so I can roll it around, etc.

I don't know your scale. My scale, it's tough...but I can pick up my carryall with my bare hands and insert it into the pallet if I want to. :)

i mentioned EXACTLY that in my post.

i used fence corall boards to make a deck onthe carryall.. then lag bolted and safety braid wired the pallate to it that the pto gen came on.

works fine.

fwtw My gen is trailer mounted so if needed I can throw a stick welder on and fix things around the property etc food for thought. Nice find btw hope she works as expected!

yep.. that's a good use. the corner of my pallate has room for my stick welder as well.
