I traded in my bx2660 for a b2920. The transmission vibrates and rattles a lot more than my bx. Anyone else find the b2920 hydro rough compared to a bx? The fluid levels are fine. I havent talked to dealer yet, just wanted some feedback from actual tractor user first.

Thanks,
Greg

I recently traded a BX2360 in on a new B2620 and found the trans to be noisier than the BX when pulling hard, like going up a steep hill.I mentioned it to the dealer and all he said was to keep the revs up.I run it around 2500 when mowing so there isn't a lot of room to increase rpm's.I now have about 25 hours on it and it doesn't seem as bad.Either it is getting better or I am just getting used to it.I seem to recall reading where someone else said their B tractor got less noisy with increased usage.I am hoping after the first fluid and filter it will be better or I just won't notice it anymore.

I traded a B2320 and BX25 to a B2620 FEL BH a few months ago and I actually went back to Barlows to try another new B2620 to see if it vibrated like mine. It did so I guess it's normal for that model B. I now have about 28 hours on it and it's either getting better or I'm adjusting to it being like it is. I've had a few different BXs and a few different Bs and my experience is they are all a little different with the BX25 being the smoothest accelerating and running of all and that was right after owning a BX2660 which was different than the BX2350 just before it. I believe my current B2620 is running about like the previous B7800, B3200 and B2320 that I also owned but there were BXs and an L between them. Had the B3200 and BX2660 at the same time and the BXs are quieter and smoother to me. Just my experience as I remember it which can get muddy from time to time.

Having traded my BX2660 for a B2620 a year ago, it now has 112 hours. It (2620) does not make any special noises or vibrations that seem abnormal to me, but I haven't mowed on long steep hills. Now that it is broken in, I mow at 2600-2800 rpm. In doing the 50 hour service, I changed the HST filter only, not the entire SUDT.

I don't notice any shaking or rattling in the tractor or transmission, just an odd noise when pulling hard which seems to be getting better or I don't notice it as much.

There are 3 ranges on the B series.

A little advice from 470+hrs of use so far.

H-Road/high speed low load only
M-Most tasks
L-ground engaging implements

In all ranges if the hydro whines then let up on the pedal to allow the tranny to "downshift". Less flow higher pressure.

It's the opposite of a gas pedal. I was at first stepping on it when things slowed down but I have learned to properly (in my opinion) operate the HST.

Agree with ericher, I keep my 2620 mostly in "m" unless I need some "umph" in 4wd digging into a pile of topsoil or something. I too used my hst pedal as a gas pedal and found that by letting up on the pedal I was actually letting the tractor catch up to the terrain and it was less noisier.
