BX7326 Rear Aux. Kit (install)

Ouch and what a ugly install compared to the BX kit.

I've always thought the BX set up was very slick and a bargain for the price. I think Kubota needs to work on their remote offerings for the B series.

I'd like to do this on my BX2670. Kit number BX7326 is coming up non-existent at Messick's, according to Kubota parts diagram, I need kit number BX7376, but that one isn't coming up either. Now I thought I'd looked once before and it was some outrageous price.

I'd like at least two circuits on the back, and this is much cleaner, and easier, install than I think making one up from parts would be. One just isn't going to buy a generic control valve, and have it fit under the fender with the levers coming up through the hole. Screwing them to a plastic fender wouldn't cut it either, but if it is indeed the $850 I'm thinking it was, I don't need gold plated, just functional.

These kits are not parts so they don't come up as such. They are wholegoods so you have to order them through a dealer's sales dept.

Ah, I see when I priced it before, it was $862.85 for the valve assembly. No levers, no lines, no brackets, no bolts, no couplers, no nothing, just the valve. I find it odd the valve alone would cost three times as much as a kit which contained the valve, plus the 20 some other little odds and ends.

Messick's does have a Kubota whole goods option in their parts, seems like it should come up under the kit number.

If I am to buy one, odds are I would buy it from my local dealer, but a little concrete information ahead of time is always beneficial. Without it, I wouldn't even know the kit existed.

I have a wholegoods catalogue from 2013 which shows the following including MSRP:

REAR REMOTE HYDRAULICS
  • BX7326 Dual-Double Acting Rear Remote Valve Kit K258B96 22 $332.00
    (50/60 Series)

  • BX7376 Dual-Double Acting Rear Remote Valve Kit (70 Series) TBA 23 TBA

Not sure why the 70 series would need a change in the kit, or why the BX7326 version wouldn't work, but the kit price for the later is still reasonable at $332. You really need to call or stop into a dealer's sales dept. to get the skinny. $800 for just the valve, wow, that must be pricing when you buy each part separately.

Thanks, that gives me more of an idea. That is a crazy price for the valve alone, but that's what it said. Just hope it's not some fancy smancy valve that costs a fortune, thus driving up the price of the kit.

The sum of the parts is always way more than the cost of the total, but when ONE part comes in so much above the kit, it's like, WTF???

I just bought a BX7376 Rear Aux Hydraulic Kit for my BX from Messick's over the phone, priced at $440. Pictures of the install instruction cover page are attached, and you'll see that it is designed for BX1870, BX2370, and BX2670. Not sure how BXnn70 Tractors differ, and need a different kit, but this one is designed for us. I'll also post a picture of the parts in the box.

It clearly is a sleek OEM install for two hydraulic circuits, with a mount to the right ROPS and four 1/4" quick-connect couplers (H2-62 part number K2581-6632-0). It comes with two levers that fit in an unused slot next to my PTO lever, and include the labels that fit on that slot. Very OEM look. The install manual looks very straightforward and is complete and well-written. Why couldn't I find the manual when I was shopping? The manual is: Code No. K2771-9375-1, but even with that manual number, I can't find it online.

Hope that helps some of you. Now, the rest of the story...

The purchase was very odd, and seemed like a secret spy transaction. As everyone has noticed, no info is available online, nor in any other source I could find. The kit is NOT a Kubota part, but rather a "whole good", or a standalone product of its own. That makes no sense, since it is quite obviously a part and serves no purpose on its own. Messicks could not give me any information from their site, nor when I called them. I asked questions like "What components are included in the kit, does it have quick connects, what are the sizes of the connection points so I can buy some hoses?" But they could answer none, because they had even less information than this thread. So, I asked "So, my choices are either just buy this on a crapshoot, or don't, is that right?" And he said "Sorry, but yep." Now, I don't mind a gamble, and I have a couple of nickels burning a hole in my pocket, so I say "Let's do it! Here's my wife's credit card, let her pay for it. (Makes it free for me, see.)" I then asked, "How soon will it ship, and can I get tracking numbers?" The answers were "Well, I order it from Kubota. Their warehouse ships it to here. Then we repack it, and ship it to you. I'll call you if there's a problem, but if it all goes as planned, you won't hear from us." So I say, "Ummm...so, I don't know exactly what I'm buying, I don't know what it looks like, you can't promise me it fits my tractor, I don't know the quality of the product, I don't know what's included, and I don't know how it's shipped, nor when it will get here. Great, thanks." 15 days later, it arrived, well packaged and looking good. But what a horrible sales process and customer experience!!!! Shame on Kubota.

I'll post again after I try to install it.

Well, at least you had this thread and a few others on TBN to go by. Thank Actionaj for making us all aware of it. The kit worked out great on my old BX1860, but alas, it won't work with the backhoe equipped BXs due to interference with the backhoe subframe. I had to make up an aftermarket setup on my BX25, which does not look near oem, but works. Will await your pic's and feedback on the installation. Hope you have a good array of open end and box metric wrenches, and maybe some crows feet wrenches. It gets real tight in there trying to turn a wrench.

Well. That install was a lot harder than I expected. I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me 5 hours with a few interruptions. My biggest problem was connecting the hydraulics. All the tubes had to be aligned VERY precisely, or the threads would not line up and tighten. And it was very hard to align. I had to loosen and re-tighten many of the elbows at new angles. And it was hard to loosen and tighten bolts in there, with almost no space between the bolts. None of my wrenches were really skinny enough to work on the valve. It required lots of time with many different wrenches and pliers. It would also have been nice of Kubota to label those four tubes instead of having us match a 3D bent tubes with 4 2D pictures of them.

But I got it done, and it looks very OEM. No monster valves and levers hanging off the ROPS, just Quick Disconnect goodness and two OEM levers. Next up, buy a hydraulic top link.

If you want my install advice, here it is:
The tubes you see in my pictures don't connect directly to the valve. They connect first to elbows using seated compression fittings.
Ignore the part of the instructions that tells you the order and when to install the elbows and connectors to the valve.
Instead, put the elbows on finger tight. Only tighten the two straight ones.
Now Install the valve to the tractor per the instructions. Leave it loose for a little play.
Now thread the tubes from the ROPS to the valve.
Now, working from the hardest to access forward, one at a time, line up your tubes with your loose elbows.
REMOVE the elbows that are in your way. Tighten the ones you have connected to the tubes, then replace the elbows you removed.
This sounds stupid, and maybe it is, but it's what I had to do anyways after following the instructions first. Until I loosened the elbows, nothing would align. And I DID install all the elbows at precisely the angle indicated by the manual. The tubes are each just a little unique, so you need some wiggle room.
