I used metal floor joists in the garage and they were great. Very strong, but it's not very customizable after the fact. Comes pre-drilled, but drilling is a no-no if you need something else. If you encounter an issue you didn't anticipate, it's much harder to put something together to fix it. With wood, it's a lot easier to work with.
No offense, but I disagree. Metal stud carpenters know how to work the product; I am much more comfortable, and successful, with metal vs wood. (wood is not my forte ) But then, framing is framing.
