There are better choices in old rigs than 8N and 9N's.They don't have a live PTO and the gear spacing doesn't work well.Loaders for them are beastly and with 2 wheel drive about useless. I have put many hours on both. Look newer.

Most average users puts on 100 hours;so you are going to skimp every 2-1/2 years on oil and filters.I only use Kubota branded products.

Lots of potential reasons:breeding season is tough on wild life for one.Animals do die of old age too.

Careful what motor you get with Cub Cadet,some have the China built.Check a Simplicty Broadmore;a little more than 4K but should be a life-time unit.

Kubota LX series seem made for you.Vermont =4WD,Cab ,front plow or blower.FEL of course.I would advise the new R14 tires also.

I have both a rear blade and box blade;box blade does the best but if you "reverse" the rear blade and drive forward it does a decent job of leveling.

I would strongly recommend Kubota branded filters/fluids.Messic's if you don't have a dealer close.

I have a six ft.Landpride on my L4240 and it's a good fit;also have a 5ft.Bush-Hog branded on our 30 H.P. tractor and it has a ton of hours with no problems.The six footer would be a good fit for yours.

Pulling a box blade with a full load of stone was one of the few times that I had to go to low range;ran out of power not traction.My tractors has loaded R1's/cab and weighs about 7K and HST. Most times no problem in medium.

There is a reason the Simplicity that is older with more hours is the same price as a Cub Cadet.

Box blades when working hard are a real drag on a machine.I have a L4240 and a six foot box blade;at times that box blade is all my tractor wants.

Put one 2x8" on the outside of your upright post and one on the inside and a another on the top(may need a 2x10").Very strong and do one piece at a time.

A local farmer I know just boosted his 300HP JD to almost 500 HP through a $2500 pirate programing.It can be done.Way cheaper than trading tractors.

I would recommend one of the MX Kubota's also,lots of bang for the buck;problem is "inventory";lack of availability.Short supply and lots of demand ,so if you find one on the lot jump at it.

I have used Advantix for at least the last 20 years for fleas and ticks and it works great;I refuse the "pill" form of tick prevention. Worms are another matter;use prescription "Interseptor Plus" and it also works well. Advantix can be purchased online.

I would think most would be disappointed in the "swiss army knife" type of sub-compact.Always a compromise.A dedicated mower and compact tractor would fit the bill better I.M.H.O.

A friend purchased a NH 4.75 ,kept it less than a year,lots of little problems.Built in Turkey.I would go with the Kioti.

I have an Inland Marine policy;it covers theft,loss from fire ect.,the way I understand Kubota's covers this +warranty for breakage ect. That's where the price difference is.

Battery tender is your best friend for long storage.

I owned a L3130 HST but not with a back-hoe.In your case I believe going big would save some money.The foot-print for a MX or the Grand L is not that much larger than a L2501. The L4701 is the odd duck,uses a less capable loader than the MX or the Grand L's.

If you are on a septic tank system;I would guess the tank is full and need of pumping.

I have to agree.Had a couple close calls with the 8N's.

I believe the 2.7 hair dryer will replace the 4.3 V6,no big loss there ,owned a couple in full size trucks.They were o.k.but not much better mpg than a V8. I have seen 23mpg on the high-way with the 5.3 V8 with my last four full size trucks. The 2.7 would make a nice motor for the Colorado also.

Better spent the $4-5K on a used snowmobile.Not worth the expense or hassle IMHO.

A thumb and tooth-bar will be cheaper and weigh less;will do 90% of what a full grapple will do.

All I can say is I have an RCF2072 and it works well behind my L4240HSTC,service the clutch every year.My most used implement,mabe 60 hours a year.

Yamaha's belt warranty is 10 years.Never had a problem with one in any of the four that I have owned.

I would look at Yamaha,Suzuki or Honda;they have been building a 450 class machine for years and they are bullet-proof.

I have a Bond Arms 45/.410 loaded within easy reach.The .410 is only good for about 12ft.The 45 Colt will reach out a bit farther!

I have a LandPride blade also,medium duty.Works well for snow removal and decent for road work.I would"NOT"recommend putting to on the FEL(no trip springs). I have a 8'converted truck plow on the front for snow work;cheap and easy build.It is hydraulic angled.

You need to try Browning cameras,all I run is video and they are great.

Box blade,ground must be dry.

That cultivator won't help picking rocks(I have one) the landscape rack will do a better job. I have lots and lots of rocks;my tiller just bounce's over them.Leave the discharge flap wide open and make sure your slip clutch is working.

You can add John Deere hydraulic dye(MT3668) to any Kubota;makes seeing the fluid a lot easier.Note;make sure you tell your dealer if they service!

My brush-hog(s) for sure get the most hours;thumb on the bucket is probably the best investment and very handy.

Looks like you should have purchased a shorter version;it can be made to work,you want it to fully close on the bottom of your bucket.With mine I just had to roll an angle iron a couple inches. You also should make the final connection by bolting on;then it can be removed if needed.

AFTER punching a hole in my lower grill and battery on my L4240;I decided to give it a little protection.Any-one with a grapple my want to consider doing this.I was lucky that I missed the radiator.

My rears are loaded and I usually have the box blade on back.Like stated with enough ballast and HST+ you should be fine with the L4240.The 854 loader is very powerfull,more than enough for brush ect.I have R1's and inflate to max when doing a lot of loader work.
