    There are better choices in old rigs than 8N and 9N's.They don't have a live PTO and the gear spacing doesn't work well.Loaders for them are beastly and with 2 wheel drive about useless. I have put many hours on both. Look newer.

    I have both a rear blade and box blade;box blade does the best but if you "reverse" the rear blade and drive forward it does a decent job of leveling.

    I have used Advantix for at least the last 20 years for fleas and ticks and it works great;I refuse the "pill" form of tick prevention. Worms are another matter;use prescription "Interseptor Plus" and it also works well. Advantix can be purchased online.

    As stated;you can't do anything until you kill the grass on the high spots.Box blade,tiller,rear blade will not cut through grass. Kill,plow(middle buster,potato plow) move high spots to low spots with box blade ,reseed.

    I owned a L3130 HST but not with a back-hoe.In your case I believe going big would save some money.The foot-print for a MX or the Grand L is not that much larger than a L2501. The L4701 is the odd duck,uses a less capable loader than the MX or the Grand L's.

    I believe the 2.7 hair dryer will replace the 4.3 V6,no big loss there ,owned a couple in full size trucks.They were o.k.but not much better mpg than a V8. I have seen 23mpg on the high-way with the 5.3 V8 with my last four full size trucks. The 2.7 would make a nice motor for the Colorado also.

    That cultivator won't help picking rocks(I have one) the landscape rack will do a better job. I have lots and lots of rocks;my tiller just bounce's over them.Leave the discharge flap wide open and make sure your slip clutch is working.

    Looks like you should have purchased a shorter version;it can be made to work,you want it to fully close on the bottom of your bucket.With mine I just had to roll an angle iron a couple inches. You also should make the final connection by bolting on;then it can be removed if needed.
