Is there anyone that can lathe a bushing?

I actually took it to 2 places that supply bearings & gears and upon cross checking what they have, found none. It came off a Kenworth truck seat that was missing a bushing. Kenworth doesn’t sell just this bearing as it’s part of a $400 assembly. It’s part of a pivot. Looked online without any...

Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph)

Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph) Yup, I think I overbuilt this... the fabrication is done and I tested it out and I think it’s crushing the 3-4” saplings instead of gripping them. I only tried it on 3 saplings before the dinner bell came and it got dark. I need to decide whether...

Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph)

A little more... I’ve gotta adjust the tie rod end shorter to make it fit better. Before I cut it short, I’ll need to get a nut installed before cutting a portion of the threaded rod off. The arm swung perfectly, better than I expected since the hinges have to be dead center.

Managed to start welding. I spent the afternoon sourcing a 1” drill bit in town and to find pins for it. Sorry, it’s not much to look at. I was on a roll.

Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph)

I decided to build a tree puller and wanted to buy a blank mounting plate for use on both ends of my tractor. Is there ANYTHING that's on the market like this?

What have you done to your Branson today?

Hauled some logs to process for firewood on this bad boy trailer. It was a military all purpose 4’ x 10’ trailer with 6k lbs rating. Made logging forks for it. Did a cord today and my boys have approx 9 more cords to do. It’s real handy to have this trailer so I wouldn’t have to shuttle the...

My 3 ton capacity logging trailer

I went to buy some large steel tubing on CL when the owner had this trailer sitting off the side. Curious, I asked about it as it has been unused for quite some time and the tires were practically rotting away but still holding air. I was surprised when he said “Take it” as the first answer! I...

Buying Advice  Paint - Branson Red

I’d like to have some rattle paint cans of factory Branson red for custom made implements and to eventually paint my 6k wagon trailer to match the tractor. Are there any readily available from box stores or would I need to get them from the factory?

Grapple..why did you buy the one you have? I am looking.

This is what I used to clean up slash & storm debris two years ago. I can rake in both directions to pick up the smallest branches and pick up clustered of small logs. I believe I can pick up 3 18” diameter logs at once with them. I should add, lift capacity for my tractor is 2,100 total. It...

    New find! Stout farm wagon

Found this on CL and brought it home today. It was obvious that this wasn't home made and I barely got information from a placard on it. Built for the military in 1953, measures 10' x 4', gross capacity, 6,000 pounds!!! Makes me wonder what it's used for in the past? Anyway, gonna find cheap...

Grapple Grapple Advice: single lid or dual lid?

I have a 60" single lid, full width grapple by Anbo with 6" teeth spacing. The steel is of importance, it's AR400 steel which makes it lighter yet much stronger. I've picked up stuff that puts ridiculous twisting forces that I thought would deform the teeth but it remained perfectly straight...

Backhoe dolly - John Deere 485 on 3720

I'm surprised by the type of wheels you used. Don't you worry that it will get flattened over time? I did the same thing for my BH and at first, I used neoprene wheels that didn't work very well so I switched them out for steel wheels.

    Logger ripped off my neighbors

Also, what would you do if you were in my shoes with this pile? I've already got lots of wood from my property. Should I sell them via CL as is or better to cut & sell as rounds? Any $ will go to the neighbor anyway.

    Logger ripped off my neighbors

Here's the thing, an elderly couple next to my property had a logger cut down trees close to the home that could fall on them due to experience of fallen trees from a storm 3 years ago that blocked their drive for days. It was when I did a welfare check in the area and that's how we became...

    Backhoe when not in use?

I take my BH off and set them on mobile dollies that have "cylinder pockets" for the outriggers. I wanted to store it very compactly in my shop under my pallet racks and the outriggers were the widest points. I just unpin them and reset them upright just next to the boom and there's absolutely...

    Chipper pto driven wood chippers

Had mine WM-8M for about a month. It has been flawless since chipping pine & fir branches and small saplings up to 6-7"! I decided on the non-hydraulic feed model with the fact that I chip over 90% pine & fir and any hardwoods would only be small branches. It was a good decision for me...

    Branson BH76 backhoe dolly build

Forgot to add pics of the other end. When the BH is fully on the dolly at the main end, the front end is quite light, takes about 25-30 lbs just to lift it to install the caster bar on this end v This is to show how the main dolly is secured to the BH with pins. I plan to tweak the design...

    Branson BH76 backhoe dolly build

It's a stock manual thumb. I plan to convert it to hydraulics. Here are a bunch. The stabilizers are stored in the holders, it does two things, eliminates leaking cylinders, which would eventually drop the cylinders to the ground and it saves space. A bonus! The setup shown...

    Custom hydraulic backhoe thumb

Awesome Ron! Glad it's working out for you. I'm going to try a foot pedal setup. Routing the hoses to the cylinder is going to be easy so I have no concerns there. Mine's a 2015 3520h and I ordered dual rear remotes and a front 3rd function. Like you, I built a dolly for my BH in a way that...

    Chipper Woodmaxx vs Jinma chipper

I got the WM-8M two days ago and got to use it yesterday. I debated whether I should get the hydraulic feed model but decided on the manual based on your feedbacks. How to Grapple without a Grapple - Pictures please

Back when I had my Kubota before I upgraded to a bigger tractor. This lil' beast could lift anything as long as there's weight on the back. Of course, I keep things simple. I fabbed these "tusks" as I call them and they have proven their worth. They were removable so I could use the bucket.

3PH / Backhoe hose loop bothers me.

I went to a "hose" store where they also have fittings, etc. got a few items and after looking over the tractor, I believe I have an excellent plan which would make the install look factory sharp. So good that I just might offer it as a bolt-in retrofit kit for 3520 owners w/ backhoes...

Here are the images. In the second image, you can see the two hoses wire tied together which I'm referring to. I'd like to avoid looping the hose and your suggestion still does this. I have a Branson 3520H with a BH76 backhoe that feeds off the tractor hydraulics. Problem is when I remove the BH for storage, the hoses on the tractor has to be hooked up to maintain the loop BUT it is quite long and gets in the way when I use other implements and it steals the top link...
