Quick test of the cylinder, disconnect the rod end of the cylinder from the grapple and push & pull it. You’ll learn very quickly if you got a busted cylinder. Fortunately, there’s drop in replacements if the design is basic.

I used my grapple to bite / pluck small boulders which weighs from 200 lbs upwards to 2,000 from a friend’s property. The benefit is I didn’t have to dig as the tines easily dug down to get under the rocks.

Many cars have tie down points for transport. I can’t see how it’s a liability for manufactures it’s it’s a simple mounting point unless it was the source of failure.

Commercial construction equipment are rarely permanent fixtures at one location and are much heavier which requires stout attachment points whereas on the other end of the spectrum, personal tractors usually stay put in one location.

How aggressive do you plow? I barely have gravel on my grass yet I know how much to plow. I don’t plow aggressively when the ground isn’t frozen. Instead, I flip the back blade around only when needed and after compacting the first snow layer.
