Why are my loader cylinders out of sync?

Is there a tube between the two sides of the SSQA?

    Another Medicare Question...

SS and Medicare are separate. My understanding is that you should apply for medicare as soon as you're eligible (age 65 but maybe a few months before that birthday) even if you're covered under an employer plan. There are penalties for signing up late. This stuff should be simple and automatic...

New tractor arriving this Friday. What do I need?

Filters, oil and tools for the 50 hour service. Don't forget a drain pan large enough to hold the transmission fluid. Trying to swap a full 5 gallon bucket while oil is pouring out will probably make mess. A shop manual. If your tires are filed, a tire gauge for filled tires (it's spring...

Why are my loader cylinders out of sync?

When the cylinders are at either end of their travel they should be exactly the same length. You can measure them. If they're not then something is wrong inside one of them, like the piston came loose from the rod. If they are the same length then the loader or SSQA frame is bent.

2020 4815C(H) Engine temp dash monitor

I don't know about Branson or other tractors but many modern car and truck temp "gauges" are really three stage idiot lights. Cold, normal, hot. They even have damping between the stages to make it look like a real gauge. An OBD2 reader in a car/truck will show the actual value from the sensor.

When I picked it up to move it, it was pretty rank. At least it came up in mostly one piece. The leach field's not that far from the house and we kept getting whiffs of dead deer and thinking maybe it was the leach field (though it doesn't smell normally). It took a few days for me to put...

    LP prices?

At my propane price and accounting for the efficiency of our wood stove and propane furnace, I figure a cord of wood replaces about $850 worth of propane. That's valuing my time at zero of course. If my land didn't generate more wood that I need just from trees that fall or need to be cut, it'd...

    DPF Regeneration driving me crazy...

Yes that is correct. Also most if not all "DPF" systems actually have both a DOC and a DPF. Look at for example the parts list for a Kubota L4060. My Branson also has both. Both DOC and DOC+DPF systems do "pasive regeneration" when the engine get it hot enough because it's working hard. The...

    Need L3901 alternatives

Branson, LS and Kioti all make at least one model that competes. I found the L01 series to be pretty bare bones in terms of features. For example one feature I wanted was independent PTO so I would not have to get on the tractor to turn the PTO on and off like I did on my previous tractor...

    DPF Regeneration driving me crazy...

Yes the turbo need to cool down for shutdown if it was spooling hard. But the OP was asking about idling all the time. Many modern turbo engines have after run coolant pumps specifically to cool the turbo after shutting the engine down so you don't need to let it idle.

Crashes and mechanical problems also had something to do with ending the Concorde. "Boom" is not a good name for an airplane company.
  14. E

    DPF Regeneration driving me crazy...

For a diesel it's the opposite- it stays too cold. Diesels don't have throttles to restrict air flow. They're wide open all the time. The power is varied by changing the amount of fuel only. This means that diesels are cold when they are idling. That's probably not good for a non DPF engine...

    NGK Y112TS Glow Plug

If the threads are shorter don't use it. The threads in the head will carbon up. Then if you install the correct length the plug can dislodge the carbon into the engine or get stuck or damage the other threads as you force it in. Also if it's shorter the business end will be down in a hole...

Branson Alterative. and I'm I going over Board?

There are so many times that I inch the tractor. For example while curling the grapple forwards before closing the jaws. Before we signed up with SPUG (see Peter's link) we used a deal that the propane provider had: we'd sign up for a year and they'd set a fixed price for that year. Sometimes the spot price would drop below that level but often it was above. The propane company got the benefit of consistent...

You need to develop a feel for when the tractor is losing traction and back off before it digs in. Sometimes I look at the tires- if the tread is moving and the tractor isn't, they're spinning and it's time to try something else. Our dirt is a mix of sand and loam and can have very little...

Every five hours seems excessive. Are you keeping the rpms up in the recommended operating range? DPF tractors need to be worked and not idled much. Okay this is odd. The Vultures are back.

Turkey vultures also circle around food. It can be hard to tell the difference but often they will go lower if it's food. We had a dead deer on the leach field a couple years back and the vultures kept coming by real low. They did not land, maybe because there was not a good path for takeoff...

    PTO Issues on LS 3033

On an independent electric over hydraulic PTO like this there is often a PTO brake which will be on when the PTO is off. So you won't be able to turn the PTO stub on the tractor with the PTO off. On my Branson the PTO has an additional two speed transmission with a neutral. If that trans is...

USPS? getting delivery ever other day?

That's been the case for us for the last 20+ years. Our USPS folks both in the local office and on routes are competent but the gate stops them. We have some days with no mail but I think that's due to less junk mail. We get all the regular mail we expect on time.

    Question regarding choices.

A quick glance at the McCormick specs. The 37 is a four cylinder vs the 3620's three. It's probably a larger displacement engine. The 37 has a much lower loader capacity, around 1400 lbs vs 2800 for the Branson. I'd verify that as it sounds low for that size machine. When I bought my Branson I...

    Interesting new internal combustion engine

Considering a smaller tractor to avoid Tier 4 emissions difficulties

While I worked on a lot of vehicles back in the old days there's a lot of advantages to new ones. Cars and trucks and some tractors have OBD2 ports and will tell you what's wrong! chain performace

The key feature to the safety chain that's the first in John's post is the bumper that extends back from the rivet. When the chain bends around the nose of the sprocket the end of the bumper sticks out above the depth gauge so the tooth cuts less (or not at all). That reduces kickback from...

The cruise is an electromagnet that holds the HST pedal in place. It takes about half a second to engage. Too quick a stab at the button and it won't turn on.
