Ever had one of "those" days?

Recently a few trees blew down near the creek onto a pasture so I cut everything in 12ft lengths. Then I use a tractor with winch hauling them to a ravine that worked until cable snapped. So then I put the grapple on. This was fantastic until apparently a limb snapped a hydraulic hose. I get...

How to rid huge barn of birds?

There is a very large renovated barn, about 60ft x 80ft x 40+ ft ht that's full of birds...barn swallow I think. Bird droppings everywhere, Gambrel roof style no coupolas. What's for Breakfast? Humor me!

For years we eat the same breakfast, usually cereal, maybe donuts, yogurt, banana, pancakes, coffee. Typical American breakfast. There's a restaurant nearby that has Sunday brunch and I got French toast platter weeks ago. It was amazing (for a 500 pounder [emoji849] which I'm not)...5 pieces...

    Would you work on this?

About 15 miles away at my homeplace is this Yazoo mower my Grandfather bought new in 1970. It's been sitting in a shed 30 years. I have 5 mowers and don't need it, but sort of sentimental. From memory it has a Kohler K321 14hp motor. When Dad inherited it, he used it some but I'd have to...

Neat way to hide a key.

My late Dad hid keys like this, I don't know if he thought it up. Yesterday I needed to hide two keys in a shed. It's just a scrap of lumber I used a router to make a pocket. One deck screw at top holds it. Just swing it out for keys. Swung back it just looks like part of the door.

Do white pines get old & brittle???

Sounds like a stupid question, but 43 years ago I planted 100 white pine seedlings. You could hold all in one hand...pencil sized and I planted with a dibble bar. Now they average about 18"-24" across and 40ft tall. The problem is almost every day there are branches that look healthy but snapped...

Thoughts on a PTO tiller & uses?

I have a 40hp Deere, FEL & backhoe, lots of attachments but I'm considering a PTO tiller. One area I have, about an acre, is on about a 20 to 25 degree slope. I'd like to get it as level as I can, it's near woods and had lots of waist-high scrub pines and cedars which I used my 5ft bucket &...
