B3030 vs. B3200

I have a BX24 and I would rather have the second seat for the BH. Changing the seat position is a pain. I have to get up either way so a second seat would be my preference.

Just my 2 cents.

Call me lazy, but I feel the same way. I would rather have 2 seats. I also like when I flip the seat around and you find out it didn't lock in after you sit down.

IMO, I much prefer the single seat because it shortens the tractor making it balance better. I don't mind the reposition, but I'm often not doing it over and over again.

Interesting to see the different opinions on the single vs dual seat arrangement for BH operation. Since I haven't used mine yet, I can't comment, but I have a few of those boat seat cushions from when I owned a boat and I might try just lipping up the BX25 seat and using the cushions to see how that works. Can you reposition the BX25 for BH work with the seat reversed, like with a stick or board to push the go pedal? Not sure how the seat safety switch is hooked up.

Maybe...I wouldn't try it...(although the same thought crossed my mind :D)

Chris, if you try to do it please, please wear a helmet and have your wife stand by with a first aid kit. Oh..... Yeah!!! record it!!!

Have you tried to push the tractor forward with the backhoe?

I don't turn my seat most of the time any more unless I'm doing a timely job. I just sit on my knees using BH. I will turn it if I'm going to be doing alot from one spot but that's usually not the way I use mine. BX25

Hey Chris :D
On the older 00 & 30 series if you depress the treadle pedal with the seat spun around and the HST in gear the safety switch will stall the engine. I'm not sure if this is the case w/the newer 50 & 60 series as I've heard they will even start in gear.

Over time you'll get to where you can do minor repositions via the BH boom but if you're going at a large stump you'll end up having to do multiple repositions all the way around the stump and using the BH to reposition in this case is futile :D
You're going to have to drive the BX around that stump -or- major digging project.....

Alot of times when I'm using the BH and thumb to pick & place material I don't even spin the seat for this, I just physically turn around enough to reach the joysticks and grab or place the material where I want it. I REALLY like what the BH & thumb bring to the table.

Normally if I'm going to be digging I want the seat spun around so I'm comfortable in that task, and deal w/whatever repositoning I have to do when the time arrives :D

Sorry to venture off topic.

My experience also.

No. It's sitting in my shed. Took delivery the first week of Jan. and everything's frozen solid here. Too busy pushing snow these days. 11 hours on it now and it's all snow duty.

Seriously, I have seen that done and I hope to pick up that trick too. When I talk about moving it via the go pedal, I talking about moving it only a foot or two.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, you can start the 50 or 60 series with the range selector in gear and you don't need to be in the seat either - I like it that way so far. I guess I'll find out how the safety switches are set up when I do get to use the BH - someday

I do expect to use the controls with the seat in the forward position for small, short talks as you mention - seen that too on some vid's. That's also where I saw a guy on a B21 I think reach back and push the HST pedal with his hand to move it forward a few feet. That's what got me thinking about the BX25.

Now, back to you're regularly scheduled program - B3030 vs B3200. Sorry for the diversion my question caused.

It is not that hard... :confused3:What happens when the tractor flips and your are on your knees??? :confused2:

If the seat is flipped and you push the hydro pedal it will shut down. I know I tried it

I made the decision, pulled the trigger on a b3200 TLBM and a rear snowblower for good measure. Now I wait.

:thumbsup:Congratulations, you'll just love the B3200 TLB, perfect size tractor to complete your projects. Has great engine power and handles attachments with ease.I run a 72" Woods RFM to cut about 3 acres of lawn, don't even know it's back there B3200.jpg
