Battery powered chainsaw

I have both gas and battery equipment. I do find the gas equipment to be better, stronger, more reliable/serviceable and easier to use for me. But if you love it, why do you work so hard to convince others? Just say you like it.

Back in the 70s, my grandma mowed her lawn with an electric mower and several LONG extension cords. She said we were all stupid for using gas. May have scratched my head, but I'm not going to give her any sass about it! LOL

You guys who don't want battery powered tools...that's fine, but why do you have to comment? Frankly, it's ignorant.
And, I don't think many of us give a tinker's damn for your opinions...

Roy, it would be a boring place if everyone thought alike. We have enough sheep in this world.

Instead of trying to stop debate, just get better arguments.

Ain't buying that...
I expect people who have had problems with battery powered equipment to chime in...maybe others will learn something. Personally, I brought up the probability of unauthorized EGO sellers and the possible repercussions of buying from them. That could save some people a hassle...
Frankly, have you provided that adds value to this thread? So far, I haven't seen or read a thing...

I haven't fired up my gas saw since I bought the 60v greenworks. Keep the chain sharp(just like a gasser) and it's amazing. Cut up a 33" diameter fallen pine tree with it. The saw will cut longer than I want to with 2×5ah batteries and is able to charge the spare before the other battery runs out. Not saying they are for everybody but they probably will work well for more people than are willing to admit it. (Gas or die'ers)

In thirty years I will be able to start my small top handle stihl saw, while a battery saw will be in a box will all the other outdated battery tools.
Dewalt NiCad 18V tools that are a little over twenty years old. And, when Dewalt came out with the Li Ion 20V battery system, the conveniently made a convert so the 18V tools run just fine with the 20V batteries.

Admittedly, those older tools have brushes in the motors which will eventually wear out, and as time goes by the brushes will become rare, and it won’t be worth replacing the brushes when they do.

But my newer 20V and the 60V chainsaw don’t have brushes, so eventually the bearings may go. But they will also go on a gas saw. And, the gas saw has seals, carburetor, fuel lines, etc. which will also fail. Plus, what do you do, when they decide to quit making gasoline?

Your right roy, I have never added any value to a thread in my life. Now that that is out of the way, lets get back to consumerism in rare earth metals.
