I have a Stihl msa-120c. It's 12" picco chain, but it sure cuts some wood. Surprised the heck out of me and my wife, since it was just for pruning and small trees. Nope...it for whatever needed up to 8" trees.
Any chainsaw will cut well until the chain gets dull and then no chainsaw is worth beans, battery or gas powered and from the looks of your picture, you are well on the way to a dull chain.Cutting 3/4 inch thick HDPE pipe today with my mini makita. Could have used more power!
So how should have I cut it?
Never said you didn't cut it. What I'm alluding to is the general dirt and crud around the pipe that will quickly dull the chain. I would have used a reciprocating saw myself. I see the snow is falling up there. You can keep it.
You have no advice of value. I made no reference to my chain sharpness, did need to cut the pipe.
I have the 18" Ego from Lowes. Love it. Have put down several 18", 70" trees with no problem. Of course, I have to change the battery on occasion, but wouldn't go back to a gas saw. Unless I was in the business I guess, then I would have both.
