I see some open spots on the floor. Also a roll around cart with nothing on it. That’s more open space than I have in my shop. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif There is one difference though. I don't have a Zamboni and tractor with a snow blower attached stored in my shop. They have to stay out in the cold, but dry pole barn. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
Ronjhall,I just picked up and cleaned the cart off in this photo. Give it a few days and you will not be able to see the floor! The zamboni can't freeze as the water in it will destroy the pipes, plus the tractor starts better when its sitting in a warm shop. I set the heat for 45 degrees when I am not in there working.
A zamboni? Is that what that is in your signature? When I looked at your workshop picture and saw it in the background, I wanted to ask what it was but didn't get a round to doing it yet.
What?.......You mean you don't have one!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I thought everyone did!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifI got it for free from a buddy of mine and use it on my backyard ice rink.
Von, i just got home from work and rushed to the computer to find your posts and pics..............INCREDIBLE. I thought i saw a zamboni! Also, is that a surfboard in the basement tied to the ceiling ? What does your yard look like? My wife and i spent the last 15 minutes laughing while looking at your pics......She said "no I can't get a zamboni"!......................can you remember where everything is?......incredible....rofl........mark
Mark,My wife says everything inside, so I have only a few things hidden in the hedge row out back. Like the rotory cutter, roller, counterweight and the rotisserie to spin cars over. And yes that is a windsurfer hanging from the rafters. I sometimes have to search for something but most times find it where I start looking. In the summer time the Zamboni stays outside.
I did the same thing with the pipe drilled into studs and a swing out plywood storage. I also put foam pipe insulation on the black pipe to keep it from marring the wood. Is the best solution I've seen for a wood rack in minimum space.

I've seen Zambonis at the ice rinks (Pittsburgh Penguins!) but I've never heard an explanation for how they work. How do they work? Are they so big due to the water they carry?
