Hey it looks like your almost there do You have some help to lift it into place ? & as far as it being black that should not be a concern! Your still open 360 degrees around You & You'll have at a minimum 2 feet head clearance & Hell your in LA. & when it cools down in early winter You can start sanding again if You want.My grand total came out to $346.00 & that is about the same price as a M-F dealer for a plain canopy & a little cheaper than a plain brand new canopy from a golf cart .So I think going this route was worth it because I got a wiring harness ,2 wiring extensions,4 led lights, antenna, AM-FM /weather radio & a canopy(y)& a good investment IMHO & not just a plain canopy:whistle:.

I'm a super busy guy and with what I've learned with this, I'd be able to do it wayy quicker and cheaper if I ever have to do it again.

Agreed. I have lights, and everything else I am putting on it will be able to be re used or can be repurposed for something else.

I'm still under $500 for everything and I enjoyed doing it.

If I was to do it again, I'd build the supports and fit, then take it off the tractor and wrap it with spandex tightly and spray it with liquid fiberglass and then spray it with liner. No Bondo etc.

Looks to be flimsy plastic I would purchase steel canopy over plastic for the long haul..Iron bull makes a nice steel canopy
Looks can be deceiving coobie, I thought the same thing till I went & checked them out & plastic deteriorates slower than a thin gauge steal rust never sleeps.

This canopy is def not flimsy. Even if you just took a golf top cover and through it up there, it will last forever. Very thick UV plastic.

You could easily make it cheap and quick. Aluminum supports and brackets. Add a few lights and done under $150. -200 depending on metal and misc wiring.

I know, I was giving some feedback on a basic Golf cat top as an option for a canopy to save $$$ from a flimsy cheap plastic canopy.

If I wasn't going to do the lights and stereo, I'd do a golf cart top again with the bed liner. Looks great and it's a great cheap option

I would think that spraying the under side with undercoating
would cut the vibrations down immensley! Some of the stuff
made for pickup beds peel too easy and then you have phooie
bare metal! For support braces you can use square tubing and
cut top and botttom out of the ends so it will slide over the rops
and drill holes in the ends extending over the rops and add bolts
Would think this would be better than drilling holes in rops or drill
small holes in rops and use pop rivets????

Hey SaintPe ! Did You get your golf cart top mounted ? Hope it's going okay with mounting it(y).

Nice job.
Thanks Mrsig! I'm going to do the wiring to the led lights 1st & I've got to mount the rocker switch 1st next to the right of the radio & I'm doing the radio last & the radio was the most expensive item on the hole build & actually cost more than the whole build.

Has anyone thought about using a rain cover with there golf cart canopy? Seems like it might work ok for wet work!

Hey looks good on a golf cart , but on a tractor when it's hot & you need to get off & on just not practical & I've seen those canvas cabs before no thanks, I'd rather have a real cab a/c, defroster & all the other goodies that come with a full cab, But I do like those mirrors ( light bulb! ) & they would look good on my forward side braces

It slips on over the top of the canopy. I would only put it on for bad weather. I did not spend an extra $9000 for a cab so I guess I'll just have to deal with a $150 removable cab.

Yea I see your point, & I have a cover that came off the front of one those portable garages & covers the rest of the tractor front to back as well the sides, The portable garage got crushed during a heavy wet snow storm that was at least 2 feet deep & the framing was all mangled(n). But I'm going to check into those mirrors.

Been rained out and working every day. (floor cleaning and restoration business) lots of floods have kept me from having any spare time to install it. Need a good sunny day to mount it

Okay thank You for the reply & I hope You get the weather You need for the completion & You all sure could use a break on all the liquid sunshine You've been getting. I still have not completed the wiring yet on mine even though I did get a little done on it.
