Howdy, Central TX checking in

I'm going to be building a pond, fixing up roads, managing water flow around the property, and probably hiring out a little. I've decided on an excavator, about the heaviest an F-350 dually can tow in case I need to move it. So I joined this forum to ask a few questions. I've run a lot of 3-5t excavators in the last 10 years, always rented or belonging to a friend.

Welcome! What did you decide on for the excavator? I've always rented locally (near Austin) as well but happy to have a conversation around your "hiring out" option you mentioned. Projects: I need to dig a hole for a 1000 gallon propane tank as well as manage the water flow around several areas / buildings on the property.

Water flow management in Texas is kinda like sailing. Days and days of boredom interspersed with minutes of sheer terror when that big ole Texas gully washer starts removing the wife's flower beds.

Welcome, I'm lucky. My wife doesn't like flowerbeds. At least the planting part.
