workinallthetime,
I just stopped by the kubota dealership today and I was looking at a B7610. I think that the B7800, 2630, 3030 may be a little too large for what I have planned. I did get a price on the 7610 and I am just wondering if this dealership is way off compared to the rest of the country. Here is what was .

In my quest for a tractor the B2410 was the first tractor I looked at.
A 2410 is a 7610 with a few more bells and whistles.
Thought this was the tractor I wanted till I saw the bx23 at a dealer.

You can do the exact same thing with a Simplicity.
LB, yes, with the quick-way backhoe. Interesting though how you conspicuously quoted me but modified my quote. I think it needs to be repeated: "This means an owner of a machine not delivered with the hoe, unlike the Kubota BXs, can at a later date add this implement. Kudos Deere!"

Not so fast my friend :D The Kubota BX's CAN add a Woods BH at a later date, many folks here have done just that. Even on the BX1500.

While it's not an OEM solution, the Woods meets all OEM specs and doesn't void the BX's warranty when installed by a Kubota dealer and/or sold by a Kubota dealer for DYI installation.

I know of a couple Kubota dealers that offer Woods FEL's & BH's for the B series tractors to price compete against other Kubota dealer's going with OEM FEL & BH...... Warranty's are the same as OEM.

i think alot of times you pay for the John deere name. I know that a service on my dads old 455 consisting of an oil filter, both air filters, and hydo filter cost about twice as much as my kubota parts. I think this might be due to the fact that john deere uses a yanmar engine and not a john deere engine. From what i was told kubota designs and makes their own engines so your not going to a 2nd or 3rd party to r&d your parts.
In short they both are probably great machines and it will boil down to cost both up front and down the road. My dad has had several jd's over the years pushing 2000 to 3000 hours on them with only one of 4 sufering from premature death. I had never owned my own until I bought this kubota and I heard about it until the day he saw how great it was. I tell ya it was a proud day for my dad to ride along to pick up his sons first tractor.
I think for the price of the little jd and bota i would explore my options with larger models. I dont see where they came up with the new price for the bx24 but im glad i got my 23 when i did

Volfandt,

First you know from posts where you and I have crossed, that I'm not a brand basher. My BH post here was to set the record straight about some information that was incorrect. It was not to ignite a green vs. orange or any other color firework display.

And you are correct about the Woods offering, though there are folks that want factory original OEM equipment, and to them, this will be a real plus. However, my jib wasn't so much aimed at Kubota, as was the fact that LB chose to blatantly misquote me. It takes a gutless wonder to do what he did. I actually contemplated contacting the moderator after his post, and may still. This guy is a "unibomber-like sycophant" who continues to stir things up and then run. He probably doesn't even own a tractor, or even know how to operate one. Just check out his profile on these forums. Most people just ignore him, as I normally do, but to deliberately edit a post and change the words of a poster is worthy of a six year-old.

Is it true that you can not get the BX24 without a hoe? I bought my Kubota L48 without a hoe. I just assumed any tractor could be purchased without a hoe. I know I could have purchased a hoe from Kubota for the L48 down the road if I so desired.

JDFANATIC, no offence taken and hopefully none delivered.

The nternet just ain't the same as seat time when trying to get over the cabin fever :D

I have a feel'n that you're gonna get 2 or more separate retorts from the same poster. I guess putting each retort into just one reply doesn't help the post count :D :D

RAT, it's true, you can't get a BX24 w/o the FEL & BH, they come as a pkg. Same as the BX22 and BX23 were.

RaT, Kubota decided that for the BX series, you had to order the backhoe version upfront. I'm only speculating that they did this to steer potential purchasers into a higher priced machine. Nothing wrong with this, it's probably good marketing. It's just that Deere, though late to the race, has decided that every old purchaser is a potential customer for the BH. Again, this is just good marketing.

Volfandt, I didn't think you meant anything by your post. And I'm sure you're right about a series of responses from LB. More than likely, to irritate us all, he'll wait 3 years and 6 days (who knows what the significance will be) and then dredge this up from the archives. By then his signature with what he proportedly paid for his BX we have never seen a pic of, will be as relative as .50/gal gas or .50/pack cigarettes.

Now that I am really, really downsizing, I am glad to see all the alternatives to the Kubota BX series.

RaT,

Downsizing? If so, you really can't wrong with the offerings today. All of the colors have great line ups and I think it comes down to likes/dislikes and strength of dealer. I happen to think Deere has some advantages that I like over the BX series, but don't forget, Kubota invented this class and has been somewhat content to sit on their hinds; much the same as Deere did with the Gator class. They invented it, and sat on their laurels, while everyone else has come out with more innovative offerings and taken huge bites out of Deere's marketshare. Competition is good; we, the consumer, win.
