My first thought it if you are going to deal with a bale spear then I would make sure to get the larger loader. I haven't loaded the tires on my 4240 yet. I took a 55 gallon drum and filled it with cement to make a rear ballast box. It's more than enough weight to counter the larger loader. I also find removing and installing the loader is real easy as long as you do it on hard level ground. I can do it in minutes.

Yep, I wouldn't consider the lighter loader.

How did you mount the drum on the 3pt?
