Pastures on leach fields

HEEHAW, Yeah, bleach is bad for the little guys that live in the septic tank. So is a lot of other stuff that whacks the pH. I wonder if the "CRAZE" for antibacterial handsoap and antibacterial everything else is a good deal in the long run. What kind of antiseptic resistant organisms are we breeding in our septic systems? A dilute antibateriastat won't kill 'em all and the survivors have more resistance. As we keep on doing this, are we breeding "SUPER BUGS" in our backyards?

If you thought the plague that was spread via unsanitary public telephones that wiped out a complete population of a planet in Douglas Adams', "Hitcher's Guide to the Galaxy" was bad, wait until we get some super pathogens bred up in our backyard bacteria incubators (AKA septic tanks). We put all the pathogens that are human disease agents in there with a little bit of anti-bacterial stuff from handsoap etc. and only the strong resistant ones survive to perhaps one day start a plague that is resistant to most antiseptics.

This has already happened to a degree from over prescribed and improperly used antibiotics. Hospitals and medical facilties are rife with "super germs" that are resistant to antibiotics. Stuff like staff etc. Hospitals are great places to catch things that are real hard to control by normal means.
