That is simple tell her that with this larger tractor you will be able to do more work and it will save money over the long run and you will be able to get jobs done faster so you can spend more time with her.
Took your advice...it backfired. She said she'd rather me get the small tractor so i'll be away twice as long. Seriously she said that then smiled and asked me if the salesman told me to say that. I told her you did
She never said "just go get it", but she did say she was going to hire me out for tractor work
I hope you can work this out because I feel strongly that this is the right machine for your use. I have worked to build up my equipment over time, add an implement here and there. I think a fully loaded
M59 can do almost all of the work you will have to do which means you won't be needing to trade up later. As a tractor a 60 hp compact can get a lot of work done on a six acre property. More importantly I would think you will be in a better position to do most of the jobs without the other rental expenses and other contractors.
If you do use your dump trailer to move the tractor I would have a support added to the front of the trailer to protect it and also secure the fel arms while transporting. A cradle for the fel arms is what I meant to say.
H*ll my monthly payment is going to be so big im going to have to build my own implements for...72 months. Think the cradle idea is good.
Just curious do any of these newer models have diesel particulate filters and require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)?
Some 2014 models are tier 4. Some are interim tier 4. Some are still tier 3.
I haven't seen any tier 4 tractors in 3 or 4k series or any series actually, that require adding fluid. Some have "afterburners" that reach 1000 degrees and clean themselves. Supposedly the filter has to be changed??? around 5-10,000 hours.
I think the 2014
m59 has diesel particulate filter. Not sure though. I asked local salesman today and he wasn't sure either. Another salesman said no fluid has to be added to the
m59 that has the filter.
There are still a lot of 2014 tier 3 or interim tier 4s in ag tractors. Supposedly commercial has been tier 4 for a couple years, and unfortunately I think the
m59 is considered commercial which would mean a slightly used, less expensive, 2012 or 2013 will still be tier 4. Thats what one of the salesmen told me today. Then, I found a 2013
m59 600 miles away that was $4k higher than the local 2014 and identical except wasn't tier 4. Asked why it was higher and he said because it's not tier 4.
So basically was told today any
m59 2014 model is tier 4 and any used
m59 back to 2012 is tier 4. Then was told by someone else that their
m59 2013 model wasn't tier 4 :banghead:
If you go the
M59 route be sure you have plenty of truck to tow that setup. A tractor that size in a dump trailer is going to be a short, heavy and possibly unbalanced load. I'd want a minimum of a 1-to dually to tow that or preferably a class 4-6 medium duty truck.
Have a 1 ton swr but ill only transport in the dump trailer for short time, hopefully, until i get a 24' flatbed, hopefully. The dump trailer has dual breaks, at least....I think
