Delivery/Initial Use Review L3700SU
Model Year: 2010
I took delivery on my L3700 on November 2, after Ocean Shipping to my location. After clearing it and ordered implements through customs, it was delivered to my location. After receipt I fully inspected the machine for proper fluid levels, attachments, etc. and all appeared to be proper. My initial task was to assemble the bush hog and cut some property on my estate. After a couple of hours operation, I discovered that a tie rod end cotter pin had not been installed at the factory and the connecting nut had backed off nearly disconnecting the RH tie rod from the wheel. This was easily corrected, and in my opinion, while a "minor" issue, lack of QC for this problem could have had serious consequence. Shortly after delivery we were subject to additional torrential rainfall, which resulted in over a foot of new rain to our mountainous location. My planned effort to spread the rears and fill the tires was interrupted by the need to provide emergency repairs to my 1/2 mile access road, using the Box Blade and FEL. All systems functioned properly and I was impressed with the power at the FEL and the tractive power of the drive system. The L3700SU has both sufficient HP and Weight to provide serious work, such as moving up a 12% grade with the box blade fully engaged, in 4WD with the Differential Locked. Time will tell but the fit/finish/function seems to be first rate.
Pros: Power, weight, fit, & finish.
Cons: 1,200 miles away from dealer if warranty issues arise.
