I looked at the same tractors that you are looking at about a year ago when I purchased. From what I could tell, any of them would have served my needs nicely. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. I went with the Deere 1025r for a few reasons:

The two separate hydrostat foot pedals. I think a rocker pedal would have driven me nuts. Matter of personal preference, though, I suppose.
Quick attach loader...this was a big deal for me.
Dealer is about a half mile away. Close enough for me to drive my tractor to if need be. Other dealers were all 30-40 minutes away.
Deere had a good financing program (0%,two implement deal) at the time I bought that LS did not have.

LS was a close second choice. A lot of tractor for the money there. Just a few little things that tilted me to the Deere...and they really were a matter of personal preference. I didn't think any of the tractors were any better or worse than any other. Just got down to features and dealer.

Didn't Kioti buy the stuff from Shibaru to make a SCUT? The Kioti SCUT is the same as the old New Holland SCUT.

Never heard that ... Doesn't make much sense though, I don't see Daedong needing someone else's design for a small tractor, they've been building tractors for a long time.

Wow no kidding ... That's interesting. So, according to that thread ... Daedong is producing them, after buying the design/tooling? Or is Shibaura still building them for Kioti?

Daedong bought the tooling from Shibauru.

My two bits are....all of the "major players" make a good machine. Dealers however can and do vary greatly. I would say figure the features you want/like then shop those features....then after you decide I want to buy X machine, start looking for a dealer. Buy from the one that you think will treat you right.

The reason you are finding many more BX25's available than GC1710's is because Kubota sells a lot more of them than MF sells of the GC1710. There may be a reason for that. The sales volume alone would suggest that the BX25 is not a pile. If it was, you would be reading about all the problems here on TBN.

If you've read much here on the BX25, I suspect most of what you've read has been positive. I'm sure the BX25 isn't perfect (because no tractor is) but the overall experience of owners seems to be positive. I have its older brother, the BX23, and it has been great.

I'm sure the MF GC1710 is a great little tractor too. And if that's the one you really want, then I'm sure one will turn up sooner or later if you're patient. Life is short, and you should buy the one you really want.

From what I have been reading it "seems" the BX25 has slow and lethargic hydraulics, and not enough power to get up a hill with hydro stat. This may not even be the case, but I have been reading enough where it is enough for me to take serious pause. Not sure how the forward and reverse would affect me, but for the price of them, they should be as good as john deere for the money, but are not. If this tractor was...say $15,000 I would buy it, but its 18900 where I am from. I have a buy bid at $16,000 for a GC1710 (no 1720's available)

Where did you read the BX has problems going up hill? I mow some pretty steep stuff without a problem. I've never had problems pulling various implements, trees, cars, trucks or what ever. The hydro has plenty of power.

I read that throughout my searching, and no one one specific page. I believe it was going up hill in high range.

IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE, so be it. Back in the day they would drop you off a tractor for a demo and you could try it. No so much anymore. Whatever I buy I just don't want to be disappointed, or realize the I bought the wrong tractor. I do feel that slow hydraulics would annoy me.
