I have a TW3HD and absolutely love it!

It is plenty fast,

and will push pretty much anything through the 4-way wedge.

I went from a TW-5 with log lift to a TW-1 with no log lift. I stage the big rounds at table height with the tractor and roll the rounds on to the table. TW-1 I bought used for $1200 and have run 40 cords through it +/-. Cycle time is fast enough so I don't mangle the machine or myself.

The TW3HD is pretty much a TW6 that goes on the 3 point, and cost a huge amount of money LESS than a 6...

My 3HD just shoves everything through the 4-way,

It's a huge time saver...

If you have health issues use a splitter? Maybe, but I think many machines promote obesity and health issues with many of us. You spend a lot of money to still lift and stack logs and physically move them out of the way, then to move more logs out of your way all around a big noisey machine. I prefer a 4 pound, $40.00, splitting axe for many reasons, here the top 10: 1. Faster than most hydraulic splitters. 2. No yelling while working. Shouting over motors moving wedges is dangerous. 3. Most who have splitters use 2 people to do a one person job. 4. Teaches you to read your wood which comes in handy for felling trees and bucking logs stuck between trees in the woods 5. Absolutely great cardio and general exercise. If you can't split with an axe then why get a splitter? 6. Grandkids love trying to outsplit grandpa creating healthy, quiet outdoor family time. 7. Quieter by far and non-polluting, no breathing fumes. 8. Listening the the whack of a log splitting around an axe head and thumping the splitting log in early morning, a one of a kind sound (I tap log, lift, flip over and let weight of log hitting axe on stump split the log). 9. It heats you up doing the work, true heating you 3 times. 10. Satisfaction of the fruit of your labor, heating your house for the winter. View attachment 715756
Showing how arch was made.

Part of 4 full cords of wood, used as a privacy fence during the year.
Gate to the barn, EMT tubing lashed to t-posts.
I LOVE THOSE ARCHES, SO COOL!!

That being said.., I mean Zero offense by this, but it looks like you have WAY too much time on your hands. I unfortunately DO NOT so I am forced to use one of those noisy, fatty making machines.

I like the TW but I would need a TW-3HD and 6k is just too much for 6-8 cords/year.
I think the SuperSplit is more in line with my wallet and needs.

Have you looked for a better price? They can be bought for less than full price.

I've had mine for a while, but I'd be surprised if they doubled in price since I bought mine for about $3,300.. Even that may be more than what you want to spend though...

My mistake. I would need the 29T TW2-HD.
Way over my budget to cut 18" oak at 8 cords/year

Yeaaa, the price they put on them is really high, but not what you have to pay if you look around for one...but probably still higher than what you are wanting to pay.

I have oak and maple up to 20". What TW do I need? Their website has no suggestions.
The present model TW-2 is more than enough machine for Oak and Maple. (beech and black Birch too ;-) for me.

Perhaps a bit large to move around by hand, but with a grunt, it can be turned or pushed back and forth.
Cycle time is fast at full engine speed. So fast, I usually wait untill the cylinder has pulled the splitting head back only as much as is needed to split the length. (Again, I cut everything to 15 inches this year)

The crotches and tough stuff is easily coped with by removing the slide on 4 way. The two speed pump will drive the wedge through most any wood cross grain! Splitting knots is just a matter of a few seconds more cycle time for that piece,

The TW-2 I bought this summer was priced about 1/2 of the price shown for the TW-2HD on this thread.
I looked at a 3pt mount TW-2 offered used in my area. But I use the bucket and tongs to lift the rounds I can't budge. The normal "big rounds" are lifted using the B7200 mounted carry all. Puts the rounds right a splitter height ;-)

I think you will be pleased with a TW-2 but do have a look and compare for your own purposes.

In my area log splitters are getting a premium this year. I bought mine last year about this time so I have an excellent understanding about what has available and their prices last year. This year is seems there are WAY fewer and the ones that were $600 last year are $800 this year. Just an observation. Maybe supply chain issues catching up with the industry? Higher metal prices?
