I know how you feel about slowing down. I wonder if you had a long rope or cable and hooked a pulley to the tree and ran the rope from tractor, through the pulley then to the hung tree. This way you may have a better angle to move the tractor farther.

Ice storm chaos. To supplement my income I snow blow 23 driveways in my neighbourhood. On Feb 7 we had 24 hours of freezing rain and ice pellets. It made for 6 inches of ice pack which was like cement to move.

Here in East Coast Canada the last few days were just beautiful. I couldn't wait to get out side and collect some firewood. Today it's raining and tomorrow it's 35 cm (about a foot) of snow coming.

Same thing with my country pro 27 hp splitter. Mine also had a problem with the valve. 2 cords the detention stopped working and could not adjust it. And I had the problem with the oil spewing from cap. If the splitter is perfectly level it works ok but the oil is foamy. Not impressed.

I have turned the raise and lower speed knob. When turned down it doesn't seem to what to raise at all. I have it set to the fastest. The fastest is still takes about 15 seconds at 2200 rpm to raise up. I have no draft controls.

The three point hitch was not used because I had the backhoe on for 6 months. The raise lever must of got bumped because it was at 2 instead of 0 and may have been in that position for a bit. I wonder would that have caused constant strain on the lift arms cylinders (there are 2 of them)...

Use the snowblower on the kubota to blow 1/2 km of logging trail. I took the top 6"/16 cm off the top then used the bucket on the way out to scrap down another 6 ".

Cleared a foot of snow from a km of logging trail. Now I will be able to get into the woods with my atv.

I use my tractor to blow my way into the wood lot. After the narrow logging road is blown out I use my atv and trailer to get into the woods to do some cutting and burning of brush. A fire is nice to make tea and warm up I don't burn all the brush. I leaves some piles for cover for the critters.

2 hours winching out a half cord and putting it on the trailer. It was a long winch so took longer then normal. The trees were over the bank and about 100 yards away. Winching it up on a public road was hard on the nerves.

Most of the time when I use my trailer I load 8 foot logs with my crane then take it to our field to process because we have a strong east wind of the harbour so it is cooler to work and less flies.

I have a Kubota L4740 and looking at getting tire chains. There is about 2 inches of clearance from tire to frame. I cannot space out the tires any farther because my snow blower is a 72 inch. So is there enough clearance for chains without banging against the frame and taking my light wiring...

Not much winter here so I was able to cut a bit of firewood and use my Wallenstine winch on my l4740. Think I will rig up a remote control over the winter. Today's snow covered the farm and the wood piles. The white snow contrasted the waters of St Ann's bay. A beautiful site indeed.

Here in eastern Canada is not nice. Rain here in Cape Breton but my daughters in NewBrunswick is suffering out a snow storm. As for me I used the sickle mower and mowed about 3 acres in the rain.

Sent 4 hours on a steep rough property using a sickle bar to bushhog a beautiful piece of property.

Dug out the alders from the bank above the driveway. After that dug out some roots below the road.

Reviving 23 acres

About 8 hours this week clearing the 23 acres. It is overgrown in weeds and bushes and some trees.

Moved my implements out if my dump trailer and onto another old trailer. Chained then down. And tomorrow I will put them under lock and key. Enjoyed the beautiful view on top if my in laws 23 acres.

My implements were on my dump trailer from the move back to Nova Scotia. Used the fel to move the blower and tiller to another old trailer. Tarpped and chained everything down. Tomorrow I will be putting them under lock and key.

Though my seat time was over after I levelled the driveway that was until I took a drive on my atv in the lower field, hit a deep hole and flipped my bike. Had to get the tractor to upright the bike and drag it out of the sharp berry brush. No damage to the bike but I had a few scratched. M

We were away for awhile so the blower would just ride up on the crusted snow and ice. Had to use the front end loader on my l4740. Man did I get seat time.
