So.. in essence.. its ok to go for a bigger kW (GOT IT) Perhaps in the range of 12-15 area????
I have also noticed that those with auto voltage regulators are more. Are they worth it? Could someone explain, in layman's terms because I do not understand the generator lingo, just how this helps out please.

Mac..
I just looked at the site for Value Leader. I haven't read anything about them, just the ones you listed above plus the harbour freight 15 kw one.

My plan was to have it on a trailer and leave it in the garage. I can just put the tractor in front of it when needed and leave it inside and the tractor outside.

On a side note… What are you thoughts of leaving both the gen and tractor inside the garage and venting out the exhaust like they do with a car?

You have Frequency (Hz) and Voltage and an AVR helps to keep them is sync better which will result in less fluctuation which can affect sensitive devices.

I am going to gamble on the Value Leader one as I think it is made Chicagoaco Electric, which I think is a reputable firm.

Personally, I would not run anything in my garage that would produce Carbon Monoxide as my garage is attached to the house. I would just not trust any type of exhaust tube. I am going to wire a 50 Amp box outside and run it out there. I have a good spot where my Heat Pump is that is partially sheltered with an overhang on it. I will back the gen in there with the tractor sitting out as it will do fine in the elements.

You do not want to screw with Carbon Monoxide.... (I have detectors but I also have 2 beautiful little girls)

no doubt avr is better.. it costs more too.

in most cases, if you keep freq correct and load managed to governor hp capability. voltage will be ok on a passive ( capacitive) regulator

Very true about carbon monoxide. My garage is not attached..but perhaps I should rethink to be on the safe side. AVR is about $100 on some manufacturers. Still undecided about size.
If I get 10 KW.. will I regret not going to 13 or 15. That seems almost 2x the amount my little bx can make. Would 10 KW give me the wiggle room for surge? I can't see my wife letting me get a new tractor just yet.. This one is only a few months old.

Still going to take a peak at the value one too

18 hp.. few months old. 9kw realistic max load.. then yeah. 10k genny is plenty fine.

and unless you are running a server farm and other lab grade tools.. i'd save monet on a passive vreg.

i've run my entire house on my 12.5 kw genny running off an old ford tractor as a kinetic power source.

Wasn't there someone here who posted a photo of a generator permanently mounted in a garage, with a PTO shaft running through the wall?

Bruce

PS

Google found this one, second photo down, but it isn't the one I'm remembering.

How does the generator connect to the transfer switch ?

When I went through this a few years ago we went with a Generac 20kw standby generator. Best decision I ever made(after the wife). It came with the transfer switch and powers the whole house, everything! We have Geothermal heat, well, electric stove. You start adding all the 220 loads and it was easier and made sense to power it all. I have no complaints on the Generac generator. good product. When it is cold, blowing and generally nasty, I do not have to go out and get the tractor. Another factor is when I am not home it still works. My wife does not have to try to hook up a PTO and get it set up if I am gone. It is a set and it is always ready. IMHO the best way to go. I bought mine at Farm and Fleet here in Iowa. It was $4200. I spent another $1000 with the electrician and the propane co to run a new liquid line and regulator. Cheap insurance.
