Busy weekend. Siding is on and flashed, I'll start the roof tomorrow. I'm 90% on the electrical rough in and 50% on the plumbing. My wife has been working on insulation in the areas where I have nothing left to run in the walls. I think.well be ready for drywall by the weekend.

It's such a big relief to have the siding done, everything that's left I can do all.e if needed so I don't have to bother anyone or by at the mercy of their schedule. Roof mostly done. One panel left on the North side and the ridge cap, then I need to fill in the rest of the screws, I knew I was going to need to buy more so it's just tacked for now.

The tin is slick as snot, having to work with a rope makes this part of the job pretty taxing. Can't wait to be done with this, roofing sucks. I'll finish up tomorrow, my back has taken all it can today.IMG_20180130_161607722.jpgIMG_20180130_161522371.jpg

What is the pitch? I'm fine on 4:12 metal roofs, but steeper gets scary. If there is any dew, I wait for it to go away. I also clean my shoes real good before getting on the ladder so I'm 100% rubber to metal.

7:12, I wish now I'd gone shallower but, I needed the inside clearance for AC equipment.

I made these custom Gorilla Tape sticky shoes, they're OSHA approved. ;)

I'm using them today, actually.IMG_20180201_101125300.jpg

Does the tape help? I never though if that

Made all the difference in the world. It was just enough stick to keep my feet from sliding.

Roof is done now. On to the corner trim.

4/12 is bad enough, it is slick.
Nice job with the tape.

The corner trim is up, electrical rough in is done, I just need to run the drain line on the plumbing. My wife had just about finished insulating the walls, we're going to get the attic ladder and installation done tomorrow. Drywall should start tomorrow, anybody want to come help, or better yet do it for me?

I still have a couple areas on the new shed attic that need siding and roofing but, I still need access in there so I'm holding off on that. I'm just going to skin right over the existing siding and make it all match all the way around. It won't be that much more and I think it'll look 100x better than mixed siding.IMG_20180203_134455335.jpgIMG_20180203_125312639_HDR.jpgIMG_20180203_144736235_HDR.jpgIMG_20180203_125658987_HDR.jpgIMG_20180203_125638196_HDR.jpg

I've come to enjoy sheetrock. I make a lot of money with it, and after awhile, it becomes fun. Do you have a lift for putting it on the ceiling? If your rafters are spaced 24 inches apart, you need to use the 5/8's thick sheetrock, or it will sag on you over time. Popcorn texture and flat paint helps hide this, but eventually, the sheetrock will still sag if it's too thin.

Come on down Eddie, you can do all.the drywall you'd like. I'll even let you play worth Kernel the baby wild pig! I'm to rent a drywall jack, it makes all the difference in the world.

Rafters are 24", I was planning to use 1/2" drywall, thanks for the tip. I guess I'll need to order some 5/8, although I hate using it.

Working on the attic insulation today. Fun, fun!IMG_20180204_150744343_HDR.jpgIMG_20180204_145517789_HDR.jpgIMG_20180204_121522743_HDR.jpg
