Honestly I'm not a bad guy!:D I don't mind helping my neighbors. 82 year old lady who lives just east of my 5-acres got turned into the health department for having house hold garbage in the yard, and tires. Her grandson came over and asked if I could help, they don't even own a pickup. I took my truck, dump trailer, tractor with grapple over to her house. I spent a week cleaning up her place. 6-loads to the dump. 94 tires to the dump:shocked:. Luckily the county paid for the dump fees. Sure it cost me some diesel, but my time and equipment mean nothing.
There are a couple members here who have been to my place, I don't think a one of them would mind having me for a neighbor.

We could all be so lucky to have a neighbor like Shield Arc. Wish he was a bit closer.

Shield Arc wouldn't want me as a neighbor.;) I'd be too busy playing with all his "toys" to ever want to go home.

I read one of the responses about a cop who thought he owned the neighborhood and it reminded me of a true story a friend told me. He lives in a rural subdivision and there's some pretty nice acreages in it. Several of his neighbors had noticed some things go missing but they had an idea who was taking them. The son of the cop that lived in the subdivision. They tried politely talking to the cop about their suspicions. The cop was adamant his son wasn't capable of such a thing and they were just trying to cause trouble. In the mean time a couple more items went missing.

One of the neighbors had an idea. His brother was in town and nobody knew who he was other than the family. His brother wasn't a big guy but had spent some time in the military. He left some items (an old gas BBQ, etc.) in plain site just to see if the thief would take the bait. He turned his lights off and his brother stayed up late and hid from view. Sure enough around 11 pm he saw someone lurching around. Eventually this person came on the property, probably thinking everyone was asleep. He grabbed the BBQ and thought he was on his way. Wrong:eek: The brother came from the other direction and encountered the thief about 100 yds. up the road. He asked kid what he was doing with the BBQ at 11 pm. Of course the kid was lying about where he got it and then said, "Do you know who my dad is?" I don't care who your dad is and he's not going to be able to help you now is he? Then the kid started getting smart and told the guy he couldn't do anything. Wrong again! The brother brought an unconventional weapon with him. A phone book:shocked: He told the kid he had to phone all the neighbors and apologize for taking their things. The kid was having nothing of it and tried to start a fight so the homeowners brother beat him senseless with the phone book!:cool2: Surprisingly the neighbors noticed things weren't going missing anymore and never heard anything more about it.

What was the kid going to tell his cop dad about what had happened to him? He couldn't admit to being caught red handed for stealing after it had gone on for a few month's and how do you explain that you were beat up by a stranger with a phone book at 11 O'clock at night for nothing?:confused3::duh:

That has to be one of the best get even stories I've ever heard. Another one was when a friend not only let the air out of all 4 tires on a Lincoln but also removed all 4 valve stems because the woman parking was in too big of a hurry to apologize for slamming her door into his rusty Volare.

Shield Arc, I wish you luck with this, but often I find that professionals like judges and lawyers are likely to trivialize the value of skilled labor. You are likely to hear, "It's just a fence, not the Great Wall of China! That, or something similar will be the attitude of people who don't do fences. I hope your hearing goes well and you get every penny you deserve. The best outcome for you would be to have your fence rebuilt to previous standards and your neighbor cease her harassment. You sure don't need this hassle over and over. Good luck!

might not be worth the effort,

but try to get 4 - 5 quotes from "professional fence companies" with a a NOTE showing why the "neighbor's fence is incorrectly installed and will fail shortly if left AS IS" ... then hand them to the prosecutor next time you see him / her ...

so if they trivialize the "fence" , the prosecutor will have some back ground into fencing and paperwork to back up your reasonable claims.
