retired or not ... proof of lost wages (or while under contract) should be enough ... lots of people are "retired" , but do contract or part time work when ever they feel up to it. Heck, many retired folk have to continue working to make ends meet.

or is it that she just refuses to accept the facts and consequences, also known as "selective hearing"

the lawyers may say "there's a very slim chance that ... " and it gets interpreted as ""there's a chance that ... "
and "you should not ......" becomes "you should ...." the offending words don't exist (or apply) to her in her mind.

skip the evaluation, unless you want this settled after your grand kids are grand parents themselves .....

keep showing up at the dates , keep quiet in court ( unless the prosecutor talks to you ) , and don't let them make a "deal" ......

"Difficult to deal with" :laughing: I've heard that exact saying before... from a realtor! I was looking at some land adjacent to a land fill for my MX track. After making an offer, I discovered some interesting facts about the property that the realtor failed to disclose. #1, half of it couldn't be developed because of the land fill and the land fill would eventually take it over. It couldn't be subdivided and had other restrictions as well. The realtor for the seller was a big shot and in fact the president of the real estate board that year. This was a small potatoes property. Why was he even involved??? A meeting was set up to discuss these new issues and I would be rescinding my offer. They offered to take $1000 off the asking price saying the land would be valuable because the land fill would have to buy it. I doubt the county would asses it very high if they had to buy it down the road. I said this meeting was a waste of time. By the time I drove home, there was a message on phone that now they were willing to take $3000 off. I called the realtor and said no, not enough. He said, "You don't understand, I have a very difficult client" My gut feeling is the woman who owned the land bought it from the realtor several years before and never did her do diligence but now is on the realtors case to sell her "garbage" property.

Also, the dump would most likely simply annex the land.. and they both knew it.

I'm putting a pig pen right next to PITA neighbors bedroom window. Sort of the same things, property line dispute that has been confirmed by BOTH of our surveyors and court. I even built the fence 5ft on my side of the line and they still tried to bring the Sheriff in. Sheriff has Zone cars so we get the same guys every time. It is a monthly friendly visit now, I share whatever project I'm working on, talk about our families.... then he walks over to placate him.

I mow the along the road in front of their house since it is dangerous, I cut up the trees that get blown down, feed the trespassing chickens, feed the trespassing dog, but I'm fed up. I'm going drive them away and buy the property. Loony birds, both of them.

Hey Breadtrk don't you just love when untrained dogs from next door come over? I have the same problem but you can't fix stupid (the owners) and common sense is not common unfortunately.
