Oosik,

That’s a nice pick’em up truck you got yourself there!! I know who I’m texting next time I get my regular ol’Ram stuck four wheeling!! You are not too far away!!
That's what friends are for, right?
I'll bet that for the first couple of years though he will expect you to wash the mud off his truck afterward.

First off, the Power Wagons are one sweet truck. I like them.
Second there is nothing special about your truck that only they can work on it. As has already been pointed out that is a lot of crap.

Apple play? It is just a way to hook up your phone. An Android phone will hook up just as well. Sway bar disconnect? It is an off roading thing. Memory mirrors? You can set the for you and your wife can set them and they can be changed to your setting with the press of a button.

Enjoy the new truck.

Good Lord Doofy - do three - 360 spins and touch your nose and belly button at the same time. I got to thinking I should explain a tad more. So I trade in the Jeep against the new pickup. I'm giving my son, my un-appreciative son, the 2005 F-150, free and clear( only 42K miles). He is really miffed at me because I spent all this money on a new pickup. He thinks I should pay off the loan on his house. And on the pickup - "well, what am I supposed to do with THAT, dad". I told him, put it where the sun don't shine and squeeze. About one more session like that - I'LL sell the dam thing and keep the money myself. It's not like he had any involvement in its purchase.

My wife & I both worked, scrimped, saved our entire life so we could retire. And now, "Sponge BoB", is miffed because I won't support him too.

I gotta quit now. I know my BP is elevating and I really want to try to keep harmony in our family. But, at times, I wonder why.

I would go ahead and keep the truck. With his attitude, the harmony has already left.

Steppenwolfe - opinions, such as yours, is the primary reason I added that extra post. I am, obviously, emotionally involved in this issue. Dispassionate opinions - GREATLY appreciated.

What upset me the very most - that he is MY son and he is "that" way. As Doofy said - "vultures circling carrion".

Anyhow - I sent the salesman the list of nine items that I need "splained". You guys have answered many. I might even understand the vehicle by the time I get it.

One "tool"that I keep in my newer Ram is a code reader, if I get a check engine light I can
read and if desired reset the code.
Many functions will not work with a CEL on, and it may even go into a limp mode which restricts
power and rpm.
Many of the current crop of code readers are smart enough that they will give you the code
and the explanation of it.
Wait untill you start setting up the display on that new truck :confused2: :drink: enjoy it

LouNY - my motorcycle has so many features - its irritating that I will get a message on the digital display or my attached Nav V GPS unit. It's not a warning - it's a notice that I'm approaching something that it feels would be of interest to me. I swear - I've read my Owners Manual on the digital display & Nav V a dozen times and am still learning.

So - new feature I learned about on the digital display/SiriusXM/Nav V combination. Obviously, when stopped - I can search ahead - find a pizza parlor - order a pizza and tell them when I will be there. I asked the salesgirl - Sasha(God, she is cute) - if I can locate & order a pizza - what about a bordello. BMW is not that liberal minded - yet. Ha, ha

BTW - I found an interior picture of the 2018 Ram Power Wagons. The shift lever is on the steering column. It's not a knob on the dash. The 2WD, 4WD Hi, 4WD Lo is, most likely a knob somewhere.

Yes, 4wd model have normal steering column shifter and the knob on the dash is 4wd selector.

The 3/4 tons have the old style column shifter. The 1/2 tons have the dial shifter which sucks in my opinion.

I researched this closely before buying my pickup. The Mopar factory extended warranty can be super but you have to do the maintenance on time or it is void. Depending upon length you may also have to get inspections to make sure it was not modified (tuner, bigger tires, etc) They even have a lifetime extended warranty on some non-diesel models that is not outrageous in price.

Check this out and compare the quotes from Ziegler to what you paid. I believe you have 30 days to cancel with your local dealer and get the warranty cheaper (???) from Ziegler or just take the quote and make them match it.

Save $$ on Genuine Mopar Vehicle Protection Warranty Plan!

I was also looking at the power wagon but found a steal on a GMC with the 6.0 so went that way instead.

I hope your ‘probation officer’ is a nice looking female on that purchase.

Well - I'm done with the eight pages of items listed for the PW. Only nine items that will need further explaining. Gotta admit - that link that ZTMan showed goes to a sight that lists EVERYTHING on a vehicle. The window sticker only hits the high points.

That's a beautiful vehicle there, coobie. Your picture makes me chuckle. I've had to rearrange the vehicles in my carport. The Jeep was in the largest stall. Now that stall will be for the PW. WoW - I enlarged the picture of your truck, coobie. That's a lot of chrome up front. You either ride a Harley Davidson or are an excellent candidate for one.

It's been 14 years since I bought a new vehicle. I wonder, will I get a 175 page Owners Manual. The last few years - everything I buy has a small note in the box with a web address. Go to the web site - there is pdf - Owners Manual.

No, I bought the Kubota nine years ago and I got an actual manual. I DID download and print an additional manual. The original was getting so many greasy finger prints, smudges, globs everywhere on it. Had to lay a paper towel on the table to set the manual on.

Waiting is the pits. This is ALMOST as bad as waiting for the new tractor in 2009. I need another cup of coffee............

At least this won't be like my new tractor delivery. It came on a tilt bed type truck. The driver was unfamiliar with my driveway conditions. He called me from the entrance - "come and get it". Rode the ATV down the driveway to the tractor. Stuck the ATV in the tractor bucket, held there with a couple nylon straps. Home we came -

Congratulations on the new truck! It sounds great!

FWIW - RAm has the best looking front end on the road right now.
