If we see China re-supplying the Russians, then this game just changed in to something very dangerous. So far China is a bit hands off. But maybe they will want to test some of their new weapon systems in conventional warfare as a secret proxy. We will see.
Putin has painted the floor, so that he is in a corner, as all these other near counties, with history, send everything they have extra to the Ukraine. And Poland has nothing but hate of the USSR, or Russians.
We can only believe in the idea, that subordinates will do the right thing, and there will soon be a new set of more reasonable people to deal with.

Hey, we had parents making up **** about their kids to avoid the draft here. Lying about needing them at home. Paying doctors to diagnose them with something to change their eligibility. Enrolling in college to get deferred. Cool stuff like that.

We use that site in History classes to show the size of Hiroshima compared to modern nukes. Those WWII era bombs would not even go the 8 miles from school to my house. The biggest ones could take out most of the Metroplex.

They had 7-8 years to analyze what happened in Crimea and prepare for when Russia would eventually attempt it again with other parts of Ukraine. They took advantage of that time to get trained and work with 'other countries' to tune their tactics.In regards to Ukrainian tactics. Suddenly they have it figured out. Wonder how that happened?

They just showed up at the border and were let in.
What they could not sell was given away all to avoid Vietnam draft.
They bought a run down two family house and fixed up and rented the top and they lived in the bottom…
The parents conviction never waivered saying they would do it again in a heartbeat…

I hope they stayed there. Otherwise, I would argue their conviction did waver.

As far as I know they all remained in Vancouver Canada...
At the time of the move the boys were 15 and 17 and.I think the oldest was born in 1950... the father served in WWII and the mom lost her brother in WWII.
I remember at the time thinking who do you just show up at the border of a country and ask to be let in... but I guess Canada was receptive during the time of Vietnam to Americans.
