Leo, I have to add an edit. My wife came in and I showed her your post and we read the article. Then she asked me to look at the attachment. I hadn't before because I assumed it was one from your photo web site.

Just an update on my project. The flagpole base is nearly done, the stacking stone is in place, the motion controlled flood light for the yard and the dusk to dawn controlled spotlight for the flag are in and working. I still have to get a lense and street numbers for the street side and a cap to go on top of the base.

I put in 1000 square feet of sod this morning. It went well, only took a couple of hours. My son helped with the trimming around the sprinklers, etc. and my wife was the straw boss. Thought you might like to see what the yard looks like now that the sod is in place pole is standing proud and the flag is flying. Still have to put the street numbers (a lighted lense with street numbers attached) and the cap on the base.

Looks great. Definatly a job to be proud of. How about a small plac to go on the base somewhere dedicating it to your friend Mark Owen ? Seems like a fitting memorial, considering his role in raising the flag pole.

Thanks for the suggestion, you are the second member to make the recomendation of a plaque dedicating the flagpole to Mark. Daryl (5030) sent the suggestion yesterday. As I told him, the plaque is at the engravers now and will be ready soon.

My wife took about 30 photos while we were setting the pole; we printed a couple of the large photos, thumbnails of all and cut a CD containing the photos as well as providing our Yahoo Photo Album for Mark's wife and family.

I'm glad you're doing a plaque and passed on the pictures. That's a good thing. And I'm sure the family appreciates your kindness and generosity.
