    Diesel delivery today

Yes,no blending. Only tractor use in the winter is snow removal. Quite rare to have much snow at arctic temps. Have access to semi-heated building when super cold. If I had to park outside and/or operate at those temps, you can bet your sweet-bippy I'd be blending!

    Diesel delivery today

Received 322 gallons of farm diesel and wrote the check for $968. Red dye-no road tax,no sales tax. Much better than last year! We like the summer blend and wait it for it for the higher BTU content. We're careful to make sure it's treated for winter. Lots more snow blown with summer diesel than...

    Spring snow storm

12+ inches in Emmet County here. Got stuck driving to the tractor shed. Not quite Sierra Cement, but the fuel gauge is pretty low after all that blowing. And the gravel drive was just starting to melt off!

    B3030 starting charging problem

Since yours is not the cab model,do you have the dynamo rather than an alternator? It's kind of a AC generator with wimpy output and may require different troubleshooting techniques. Good Luck!
  13. N

    B3030 starting charging problem

Not that it would explain the no-crank condition, but I'd like to verify battery voltage at the alternator output terminal-the big one with the large red wire. If no power there, the fuse could be blown and explain the not charging issue. The mysterious no crank could very well be the venerable...

Kubota Grand L filters from WIX.

Retired from auto parts sales several years ago. At that time,I never saw any major aftermarket brands offering the hydraulic and HST filters for the Grand L filters. Kubota L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The Tractor, The Comparison, The Modification, The Results

My 2021 L2501 with 20 hours has always smelled rich. Nasty when cold, but still smelly when warm. I admit wife and I are a little sensitive to diesel exhaust. Compared to our B3030,the difference is night and day. I wonder if a turbo kit would lean it out to help us enjoy our tractor more? Great...

Kubota 10W30 oil, synthetic or dino?

I'm surprised Kubota doesn't sell a synthetic but I've never seen one. And their manuals are so outdated on oil specs. They may figure buy it from them and you'll be fine. I've always used 10W30 dino in my units with no issues. Good Luck!

I've had them on my B2782 for 5 years now. Helps a little to reduce clean up,but not as much as hoped. If you're trying to widen your frozen/semi-frozen driveway banks, they suck you in real quick! My vote is 65% worth it. Good Luck!

L3200 battery - is it special?

Contrarian view here. Tractors often see less usage then your car. Longer idle times increase plate sulfation. Standard batteries have fewer, thicker plates spaced further apart. Thicker makes them more vibration resistant and more space between plates allows for more buildup before plates short...

Kubota B3030 RPM needle stuck at max on the dial ...

Perhaps drill a tiny hole in the instrument face. Think tiny hole for odometer reset button. Reach inside the gauge with a bent paper clip to persuade the needle back to bottom of scale. Correct front blower for B7800?

My books from my 2008 purchase show the B2791 subframe fits the B7800. The B2791A must be a later model. I have the B2782 blower, not the B2782A. Water in fuel causes $10,000 damage to my Kubota Grand L6060

    Add an Aftermarket Temperature Gauge?

Kubota coolant is the plain old green ethylene glycol. Just like the stuff used in automobiles until 1995-2002. Might need to go to the dealer,or an auto parts store to find it. I used it myself, but many prefer to upgrade coolant for various reasons. Good Luck!

Is Shell VPower Premium ethanol free?

Yeah, they take 84 octane regular and 10% ethanol to get 87 octane fuel. 90 octane plus 10% ethanol yields 93 octane premium. That's why you see 90 octane "rec" fuel-no ethanol added. E85 in northern climates is reduced to E70 in winter months-poor ignite-ability at cold temps. And those in the...

HST owners need to remember to keep the treadle well greased to reduce the chances of this happening.

Welcome! Please tell us the rest of the story. Maybe we can help?

Too much coincidence not to be him. And under hospice care no less! TBN and Barlow's have lost a good friend.

    Engine oil

At the local dealer last week. Plenty of Kubota fluids in stock. 10W30 oil was $18.61/gallon. Super UDT2 was $98.01/5 gallon pail. Found out they have been running 20% off fluids and filters since the outset of the pandemic. Didn't see any synthetic oil though.

Are the hydraulic hoses normally routed stupid

Many posters have noted the vulnerability of the dealer installed hoses under the tractor on the Grand L60 series. Good Luck!

    Kubota Slow Burn Fuses?

If nobody stocks them, then they almost never are needed,or readily available at a decent auto parts store?
  140. N

Can a diesel engine run on gas. .

A decade or two ago, while driving a fuel tanker,we had a mis-dump. The gas/diesel mix was pumped out and sold to a petroleum/nat gas driller 60 miles away. They use to lubricate the drilling bit. It wasn't me,but I've come awfully close!
  141. N

How far and high can I throw snow?

Maybe it's time for that payloader to get you thru the rest of the season? Good Luck!
  144. N

How far and high can I throw snow?

Maybe 20-30 feet and perhaps 15' high? Your Ocean-effect snow seems similar to Sierra Cement in California-think Donner party. Before we had a blower and a plow truck,we would run out of room & had a big front end loader move the banks back. Good option at the time, and may be for you as well...

    2nd shear bolt broken

FWIW,I've never seen a 6.8 bolt thread. 4.8,8.8 & 9.8,but never 6.8. I have to wonder if the bolt head is poorly stamped? Good Luck!

Impressive fuel usage numbers indeed! Especially important with Bidenflation! Good Luck with your new machine.

HA! He's owned so many Kubota models! I think he even re-purchased the same one again. Don't think he's up to an "M" yet. And all his family members seem to have them as well.

    MF 255 tachometer issue

Since the cable is OK,the problem is the gauge head. It's just like an older speedometer. Speedometer repair shops used be easy to find. Not what's out there now. I recall taking the tachometer on my 1978 GMC Astro to a shop in Lansing and watched the thing fall apart in his hands. He fixed...

    PTO snowblower?

No more snow in Iowa this year! Have fun with the snow you have now. Good Luck & Enjoy!
  158. N

    Block Heaters 24/7

Let's not forget that block heaters have a finite service life. Leaving it plugged in all the time will shorten it's life and, perhaps, fail at the worst possible moment.

    Getting ready for 20 inches

On a drive to Gaylord yesterday, wife and I agreed we'd like another foot-most likely will see very little. And it was 40 today, then back to the deep freeze!

    New B2601

Sounds like you are reasonably pleased so far. Good Deal! Just wondering what motor oil you're going to use when you drain the factory fill 10W30. Thanks & Good Luck!
  161. N

    TC24DA

I'm guessing it's a cable driven gauge. Sounds like the gauge head is failing,or perhaps the cable is on it's last legs. Gauge replacement is probably the only option. If you could locate a speedometer repair shop,it could be repaired. I'm not sure they exist anymore. Good Luck!
  162. N

    B2301 or ???

The front snowblower isn't that bad to install. Just leave it on all winter. I think it would be fine on that tractor. I believe that model blower is pretty decent. A nearby city switched to them from the B2781B blowers they had. Good Luck!

BX glow plugs - current draw favor

If the winterized diesel has been blended with kerosene,it will start easier due to the higher cetane number(ignites easier) There is however lower BTU content in kerosene,so more fuel be used. The kerosene also has lower lubricity so an additive is normally used to protect the fuel system...

Kubota engine difficult to turn over when cold (not battery)

I would think a voltage drop test is in order now.

BX glow plugs - current draw favor

Basic (stupid) questions about gas and diesel engines.

I'm sure you mean 4-53? Detroit's are cool. Had 2 6V92TT's and 4 8V92TT's a lifetime ago. Fun times. Always love the sound of the GM diesels in the Higgins Landing Craft in the WW2 movies!

    No Rotella T6

For everyone using the very best oils available,is it time to pull an oil analysis sample and see if you can stretch your change interval? Would it help to stop the run on the premium products? Seasons Greetings!
  178. N

    No Rotella T6

Regarding my visit to the NAPA store the other day, they had a full pallet of Blue DEF@12.99 per cube and had not heard of any DEF supply issues. Seasons Greetings!
  179. N

    No Rotella T6

In my NAPA store yesterday. Manager said he had 100 gallons of T4 15W40 not showing in inventory so nobody could transfer it. My NAPA online account shows no T6 anywhere. Glad I have enough Kubota supplies for next year! I'll refrain from making a political comment here! Good Luck!

    Bad news big repair

I had thought about posting the same idea since I've seen loggers doing this 15-20 years ago. Too bad so many posters have not really read the issue and inject the same ideas over and over.

    Owner Reviews on LX Series

If you move the PTO selector lever to mid-PTO only,I think the rear shaft will turn freely. Just the opposite for the mid-PTO. Good Luck!
  183. N

B2782B only goes up in low rpm

Strange problem for sure! Until this gets sorted out,I would change my procedure-lower the RPM's to idle before disengaging the PTO, Could save some wear on the clutches. Good Luck!
  184. N

What do I look for in used tractor?

Not that I want one,but Kubota is offering a lifetime warranty on the emission system? Will they still spend a lot of time in the shop? Good Luck!

Treating diesel in north Texas winters

  194. N

    Shear Bolts??

Not so. Grade 2 will just tear and elongate their hole. You want a shear bolt to snap off clean. Sometimes they have grooves cut in them to break in the right place. Good Luck, and try to identify the OEM bolts to see if they are special.
