This 790 made it 15 years. I was careful but used the heck out of it being it was my only tractor... lucky I guess. Used full synthetic gear oil from the first change also, but the gears still lost teeth.

Yep, it's a floater. The 790 has one too. My bowl is black on the LS and cannot see into it...it has the water sensor apparatus hung off the bottom of the bowl.

The more swag a brand has, the more that brand seems to cost.... Just look at Kubota, New Holland, deere... All shwagg heavy, deere being in the lead for that is my guess, and deere reflects the most you would prolly pay pound for pound of tractor. I bought a 790 Deere brand new 15 years ago...

My LS has an LS engine... I'm not by the tractor to read the engine tag. I do not remember reading Mitsubishi anywhere on anything. The 300 model loader on my 790 has been 100% good. Zero breaks, cracks or anything of the sorts, and I USED the thing. I had the relief set so I could lift 1000lb...

The ears the pin goes threw may not be inline very well. Could be a groove wore into the pin and is caught on the bushing in the end of the hyd. Cylinder. Heavy duty heat gun means the torch right??

If you put just a slight bend in the buckets cut'n edge, the wicked tooth bars wedges REALLY holds the tooth bar tight... :)

My 790 has the model 300 deere loader. Bought the Deere shop manual not long after the 790. I have had to replace the hydraulic implement pump twice, my own fault, replaced the bevel and drive gear on both sides of the mfwd and two water pumps. Original water pump missed the three year...

Do all my maintenace myself. Lube, oil changes, minor or major repairs. I have a real paper jd factory service manual for my 790, a flash drive with the service manual for the LS... Wish it was a real life physical paper manual though.

The plan is to use it in between the rows of seedling trees to keep the weeds down without disrupting the surface of the soil like a harrow or a tiller would. Maintaining surface tension helps maintain moisture, valuable commodity. I'm over a month out for any dirt activity unfortunately....

Torque cracks. Nokian skidder tires in the 28L size iirc, did that after little usage. They were warrantied them.

Looking at your pictures, you have pine seedlings planted in that mix.... They must have been planted with a transplanter judging by the lines of soil with trees sticking out from them. You have a built in forest in the making if the whole acreage is like the pics...

How long since last greased?? Almost sounds like there is grooves wore into the pin holding them in the bushing, but being wore that much they should still take grease. Try a grease fitting cleaner tool. One you fill with a light oil, latch it to the grease fitting and then smack the tools...

I have had JD hy-guard cloud in COLD weather. 76 brand tractor/hyd. Oil would cloud also in the cold. Both clouded in original buckets I asked the 76 bulk dealer about it and they reassured that there was nothing wrong with the oil.

Here it is fellas... It scarifies ice real well jstpssng. For me, it worked good 'back dragging' angled for the serrated teeth into the ice with minimal down pressure. Grooves the ice good, and the ice shavings freeze back down to the ice after a while creating more traction.

I have used sea-foam to fill diesel filters after changing and have un-jelled starting to jell diesel with it. I treat diesel year round with power service white bottle. The 790 starts better and smother and the same with the 1150 dozer.... And when the temps drop, I am fully treated from tank...

Looks like you have a small leak around the cooler, possibly the cooler itself. The very side of the tubes look suspiciously clean. The smallest leak can look massive over time. Especially in dusty conditions. Wash it all off and watch the area closely. Stop occasionally when working and look...

Did some looking at the boomer 40 parts blow up on there front 4wd axle. They do not show a grease zerk on the rear half of the pivot for the boomer... Then looking at the XR3140h parts blow up of the same pic it shows a zerk and a bushing/seal in the stack of stuff that goes in/on the pinion...

That makes perfect sense.... with no grease zerk to be found on the rear front pivot and the drive line going right threw the pivot itself.... DUH on me🤬 "The rear pivot is lubricated by the differential oil" Why has my dealer not figured this out or told me this..... Would have saved a ton...

UPDATE.....kinda, Dealer called us and said they received the new rear front axle pivot. No grease fitting on it neither. Broke the hundred hour mark on the LS as we finally put our last trees in the ground.

Spraying for white pine weevils. They become active early and and destroy the top leader of the spruce by laying there eggs in the cambium layer of the bark. Also for adelgids. Another tree foliage killer. Love the jacto. Spraying 50 foot swaths at a time you cover alot of acres😁

Thanks oosik. Two of the fields I'm in have been worked for almost 90 years, the one in the pic 60 some odd years. They have had a alot of years of work that good. Still turn up a rocks now and again.

Give the LS a good run today. Hooked up the 60 inch kk tiller, greased the u-joints, checked the gear boxes and hit the dirt full throttle. Not one hiccup from tractor or tiller.(y) Tilled four hours straight, right around four acres of field for tree seedlings. Even worked the lights too...

Over all, Boomer, more money given more options. Base tractor more than option loaded LS. Boomer has blue seat. Depending how long you can wait, you can pick and choose options. LS, less money more options than compared too Boomer. LS has gray seat. Most all LS I looked at just had all options...

Broken pin, bolt, crack in something somewhere letting the metal move past itself making a 'pop' like noise

My fuel hub dies there own diesel. They buy clear fuel by the tanker full couple times a week, haul it to there hub and die the fuel as its getting transfered into there holding tanks. Same fuel as the 'on-road' just has die mixed in. Other than the die, zero difference.
