    Craftsman/Kobalt/Tekton/Pittsburg Sockets/Wrenches -- General Thoughts/Question

yea, our local JAX farm and ranch stores have a full line of the tekton stuff, including some of the cheaper china made things, but it seems like they are slowly being phased out for quality items. most of that stuff is not even on the tekton website anymore, like the drill press vice, some bit...

    Craftsman/Kobalt/Tekton/Pittsburg Sockets/Wrenches -- General Thoughts/Question

I purchased one of the big tekton canada made boxes and it is fantastic, especially for the price. way nicer than tool truck brands. same as a Rousseau box which is a Vidmar competitor, same style steel carriage and real ball bearings, not just balls in a track on a slide. when you buy from...

If I Only Buy One Piece of Equiptment...

no way will the cheap asphalt stand up to the boats/travel lift. it will be terrible in short term and cost you 10x to fix later. go around and look at other yards? are they asphalt? leave it gravel. I think more gravel/road base, grading and compacting sounds like a good plan, though that...

Rear blade for snow on gravel, pipe or rubber mat?

i would think rubber would not work well, as it would provide too much friction on the surface. we Colorado people really know what its like to have 20 or 30 inches of extremely heavy snow over a nice light, wet gravel. I have broken more parts plowing heavy snow than doing dirt work. haha.
  11. H

Rear blade for snow on gravel, pipe or rubber mat?

some places, the ground freezes and refreezes and it snows 30 inches and is 60 degrees the next day. we end up with lots of snow on top of wet ground in Colorado.

Rear blade for snow on gravel, pipe or rubber mat?

I use 4 in pvc at each end and one in the middle. seems to work pretty well. I am going to try a steel pipe with tabs welded on to bolt onto the edge though. The pvc lasts about a season, I have only cracked one of them in the cold.

Making riding mower more stable for hills

Those are good things to do, but you have to watch out on lawn machines, you will have to get something pretty beefy to stand up to that extra traction and weight. a lot of the lawn category stuff is light duty.

    Trailer Lights Gurus--Got a Question.

hook the ground wire to the chassis at each light, and the 2 wires, individually to the 2 other wires. we are not confused. electricity is not magic. my trailer is set up exactly like this. grounds run to the mounting bolt of the light with a star washer.

    Trailer Lights Gurus--Got a Question.

oh.... you should have 3 wires, a ground, a stop lamp and a signal lamp( constant on for brakes, and on/off flashing for turn signal. connecting the brake and signal lamp wires would probably make things act strangely with the led drivers in the tail lights. same as you have a left signal...

    Trailer Lights Gurus--Got a Question.
