    bx2200 transaxle broke

Too late. I'm already in 4WD before I try the diff lock. Except as we all know, 4WD really is only 2WD until you use the diff lock, which then gets you into 3WD. There's no lock on the front diff, so it does what it wants.

    bx2200 transaxle broke

There's a guy on Facebook by the name of Stan Beech who had the pins break on his BX25. He took it all apart, then put in new pins that were larger. Had to machine out all of the holes that the pins fall into as they engage. As I recall, there are 4 pins and they are 10mm diameter. He put in...

    58 MPG by 2032

It’s 640 miles from my house to my b-i-l’s cabin across MN (70mph) and SD (80mph). When you’re on limited vacation, you just want to get that done in 1 day. With potty stops, you just push it. 76-77 in MN and 84-85 in SD gets you there with some daylight left. The cost in gas becomes irrelevant.

    To upgrade or not

"The tractor is light, has no power steering and loader work will wear out the wimpy front axle faster." My dad welded up his own loader for the 8N made out of F20 Farmall frame. He used it for 30 years scooping silage every day, used it to clean the feedlot yearly, snow all winter long, and...

Just bought a Kubota BX2230 and have some question

I've had my BX2230 for 11 years. The FEL really opens up a world of new jobs you can tackle, but you have already heard that. But if you keep this tractor, my one recommendation is to replace that gawd-awful sloped, rock-hard seat. If you put any number of hours on, that thing is a killer. None...

I bought my BX used (off eBay!!) at 591 hours. 11 years later and I am approaching 1400 hours. I have tackled many tasks I would never have imagined trying to do without it. I think my favorite is clearing snow. The snowblower I bought doesn't care if it's wet or not, it still launches it 50...

Can a diesel engine run on gas. .

    Mowing  Mower height limit control

I've been trying to get my mower height control to work ever since I got my rig. I set it to the top or any other setting and the mower goes right to the ground, every time. So I pulled the mower off and crawled underneath it. It appears that the mounting bracket has either come loose or is...

    RaydaKub

My name is Ray Anderson. I bought a Kubota BX2230 a couple months ago. Still learning a lot about it, but having a lot of fun doing it. I found the forums long before I knew there was a message system built into the website. I grew up on a farm and ran a Ford 8N, JD model A, Case 730, 930, and...

    Mowing  Mower setup/assembly

Hope you fellas don't mind my starting so many new threads. I just keep finding things I think are odd or not quite up to par. Every mower I have ever owned before, the skirt extended down an inch or two below the blades. It appears on my MMM that the blades are almost dead even with the bottom...

    Steering linkage boot

I'm starting to wonder if buying used is such a good idea. You don't really know what it should have looked like before. Last night I was working on my mower. I noticed a very fine wire snap ring dangling off the power steering cylinder end. I then noticed the other side had part of a rubber...

    Speed set device lever resistance

I didn't know what this lever was for until I got my manual a few days ago. But I tried to use it today on my BX2230 and it seems like it might bend slightly, but it doesn't engage at all. How hard should you have to push on this thing? I guess I don't think I'll use it a lot, but are there any...

    Ballast  fluid and weights

I finally got a manual for my BX2230. I was hoping to add like 75 to 100 lbs on each wheel in addition to the 11+ gallons I put in them 2 weeks ago. But the manual says that in order to avoid transmission problems, don't do both. Anybody have any trouble after doing this? I'm going to hang...

BX wheel weights vs other brands

My BX2230 is way too light on the back end. I filled the tires, but need more for FEL work. I've see gobs of 12" wheel weights on ebay and craigslist, but they all have 4 bolt holes. My rims have 5 bolts. Is my only option to buy new weights from the dealer (or wait for some nearby). I assume...
