This is the data I was going by for the GC1720 with DL95 loader.
Lifting height at Pivot = 73"
Lifting Height under level bucket = 65"
Max. Load at Max height = 870 lbs
Max. Load at bucket edge (20" from pin) 580 lbs
Max. lift at pin at 1 meter = 1050 lbs
Max load at 1.0 meter (20" from pin) = 760 lbs
Max lift at ground level = 1400 lbs
Max lift at ground level (20" from pin) = 920 lbs
Front axle capacity = 1940 lbs
Rear axle capacity = 2094 lbs

And the post.

All of this 20" from the PIN stuff is hard for me to follow, and for sure you know the BX 25 better than me. Do all these tractors lift the same or does one stick out more than the other? The BX25 is great in many ways for what I need to do. If it will do the job for me, its the one I should probably buy.
"992 lbs." - does this mean the Kubota will lift a 992lb weight?

Kubota CUT'S/SCUT's aren't necessarily known for their high strength loaders across the industry, but they are all basically close enough that you can almost ignore the loader lift strength from any model.

Massey just changed their supplier for their loaders, and in some cases, the loaders have higher lift specs than their predecessors. The DL95 vs DL100 is one such case.

Base your decision on the overall tractor feel to you, and the dealer

This one wouldn't lift any higher.

Regarding the Massey loader/backhoe. They have new models with increased lifting capacity. The new loader is the DL95, the old one is the DL100. I forget the backhoe model numbers at the moment. IF you end up with a Massey, make sure you know what you are getting, there is mixed stock out there.

On the other hand, I'm not sure the increased capacity is very valuable because they have not changed the load capacity of the front axle. So if you're not careful and properly ballasted, you would be putting the front axle at risk.

Isn't Massey's new DL100 a significant increase over the old DL95 loader, something like 400 pounds more, while the old DL95 loader was already stronger than Kubota's BX25?

I was swapping emails with the Massey Rep this morning. He was doing his best to make things right, and from pictures and videos that I see; I really like the Massey. However, there is no easy 3 function valve, or bucket grapple system that I see. There are not a lot of aftermarket products available for it either. That working in concert with being completely bent at a few massey dealers, not having any local support and not having the tractor that I want is really steering me to the Kubota.
I haven't bought anything yet, but I cant help but feel I would be "settling" for Kubota if I am being honest. Maybe it would be a moot point if I brought one home?

I thought the DL95 and CB65 hoe were the New equipment.

Whoops, you're right. I have the nomenclature backwards, forgive me.

Dealer support is an issue, but its not a deal breaker. You can buy from just about anywhere in the country and have it delivered. If you have service needs/issues, sounds like you already have the local Massey rep's phone number...

On the other hand, did you look at the B series Kubotas? They aren't that much bigger, but definitely have increase capacity over the BX or GC series. They just replaced the B2x20 with the B01 and B50 series. Not much more money for more capability...And at least on paper, I think Kubota B series in the best in its size category.

The numbers below are from the manufacturers' websites and spec. sheets. It took a bit of perusal to find equivalent numbers. I was unable to find any information about power at intermediate lift heights, i.e. at one foot above the ground. Keep in mind, the geometry of the loader affects the lift capacity at various heights. This geometry difference could possibly be reflected by Kubota's slightly higher breakout force, and MF's slightly higher lift to full height.
The values for the MF DL100 loader were mentioned above and are a bit lower than the numbers for either the DL90 or the BX25D so are not included.

MF DL95 LOADER and BX25D LA240A LOADER
DL95: Lift Capacity to Full Height @ 19.6 inches Forward of Pivot Pin: 580 lbs........... BX25D LA 240A Loader @ 19.68 inches: 518 lbs
DL95: Breakout Force @ 19.6 inches forward of pivot pin: 920 lbs........................... BX25D LA 240A Loader @19.68 inches: 992 lbs

Interestingly enough, this is where the games can be played.
DL95:Rated Hydraulic Pressure: 1914 PSI........................................................... BX25D LA 240A Loader: 1778 psi

If the system hydraulic pressure on the Kubota is changed to the same pressure as the DL95, the lift capacity to full height would be almost exactly the same.

It is my personal opinion, and importantly, my opinion only, that the manufacturers set lift capabilities based not on the mechanical capabilities, but on the consideration of machine stability.

The max lift of either of these machines could be easily increased, but the stability of the tractor would be negatively affected. The front axle is on a pivot so it offers little lateral stability. When a heavy load is lifted, the rear wheels become light, and with an extreme load, would actually lift from the ground. Capsizing is a real possibility. Since these tractors weights are approximately the same, I think the lifting power of either is appropriate and is not significantly different.

Both are very fine, well built and capable machines.

Take a look at this site they offer a loader quick hitch for Kubota, Cub Cadet, Kioti with grapple attachment and other loader attachments.
I think the price for the loader hitch was around $800.

I just ordered my BX25D tonight.

Congratulations. I think you'll love it.

As others have said, it will have its limitations but you will find ways to work around it. I doubt you'll have any trouble lifting the rocks in your pics, but there's no way you'll grab one of those slabs of concrete with a grapple and tote it off. But you could lift it enough to wrap a chain around it and drag it somewhere that it can be broken into BX-sized chunks.

Be very careful trying to drag that dock out of the water. If you get it part way out and lose traction, it could slide back in the water and drag you and the tractor back with it.

He makes a good point, the BX does a lot of things well but floating is not one of them

If I only could keep one tractor it would be my BX23

That said loaded or in my case foam filled rear tires made a big difference in stability all around.

Also, found my hydraulic pressure was about 12% low and when I set it to spec it was a noticable improvement on lift and breakout.

My favorite and least expensive implement has been the toothbar... really worthwhile when working banks.

Just remember the small TLB can be tippy...

I'm late to the conversation and was going to suggest you rent a BX25 from Home Depot... they don't rent them in California and was surprised they had two at the Lacey WA Home Depot last time I was there for rent...

PS... don't know about the 25 as far as a soft underbelly... I added a belly pan to my BX and I know it has saved me...
