I have loaded R1 and a cab and the 854 loader will lift back tires(with 500-600lbs on the three point). On the HST leak, warm it up and put a piece of carboard under;mine didn;t leak when cold.It looks like a pipe plug with a loose pin in center.

Buying Advice Used sub/compact tractor, what to buy?

Who makes a synthetic trans fluid like Kubota's SUDT2?

I.M.H.O. Sorry but the average owner with one tractor(not a fleet) and the need to service(maybe every 2-3 years) with a fair investment in equipment now needs to save a few bucks on hydraulic fluid, and take a chance that it might work. Never understood this.

atv and utv year-around use (and in snow)

I won't be investing in "pods"any more than a snowmobile;too limited of use for the cost. Neighbors have a set for their 1000cc Polaris but none for me.

atv and utv year-around use (and in snow)

    Snow plow ? Beginner

Vermont means lots of snow for sure. For your first year you may want to try a REAR blade for starters, maybe a medium duty 7'. Look for a used truck plow to mount on your tractor "front" down the road. Cheapest way out.Lots of builds on this site.
  120. nybirdman

    Anyone reload 12ga anymore

I think your prices are pretty close;I don't reload shot-gun but rifle.Only because of availability and my choices for bullet. Can purchase;9mm,40 S&W and .223 cheaper than I can reload.

FEL plow vs. rear blade for 1 mile of infrequent chipseal road snow removal

I have and use both a front plow and rear blade;for your use a good heavy medium duty rear blade should work.Get one with off set.Three point has no down pressure and will ride up when going forward,do NOT push back-wards(if you turn the blade around),no give and something expensive could break.

As the owner of a Grand L,buy that L5240 before some one else does,it will go fast.Had mine for 12 years(L4240HSTC) and a friend has the same (L4740 HSTC). The loader is powerfull, and the tractor nimble. Can't beat a cab for snow removal.
