Hey this thread is great. Chinese excavators are on my radar. Have you encountered any design flaws or quirks? I had imported an engine powered flail mower from china and i know there were some little things i had to take care of like loose bolts, design flaws, and reinforcing certain areas.

Yep I’m with u. $5k makes me apprehensive especially bc i know it’s inflated and expect something to go wrong with it. Chinese mini exs are for sale near me for like $10k. Not sure i trust them either but yea i agree could be better. Maybe I’ll try renting a mini ex. that is awesome.

Yep it’s a great point. I think the weight of my backhoe is why I’m going to steer clear of this method. If i had a sub compact hoe i think it would be better. I think i may go w the dedicated manufactured towable that i posted

I am thinking i might get the towable backhoes that they make. Where I’ll be going is harsh ground conditions. I don’t think it’s good for any machine really. The towable backhoes that the make might be the best solution.

Yea this spot is tricky. It will rain and recharge the ground water level bc it gets tons of runoff. I am very close to getting a towable backhoe to do the job.

Ok yea i think i got that one my coupler just made it. It was near the middle of the tractor but between the wheel and frame. the 4wd lever one is best visible when looking through the floorboard by the 4wd lever. The opening is too narrow to get a coupler through there.

How deep does it have to go. How far apart and on a hill do you run them cross slope or with the slope? I’ve researched them but to me the only thing that would seem to be doable would be to lay them not that deep. Maybe 24” or so

It’s a big area. Probably 2-300 ft total. I would need to leapfrog it someway. I’m thinking large enough wood sections for each wheel will do it.

Where can i get scrap? i understand about the canoe analogy too. I just used plastic pallets this weekend and they helped me get unstuck but i didn’t use them as bog mats. that’s the trick i have to come up with a system i can leapfrog using the tractor. So moving by hand.

yea I’ve been wondering about the design of that one, it’s unlike any others I’ve seen. I need to get specs on it. i feel that i will likely be rooting smaller things with a grapple at times.

I’ll have a Branson 3620h. Lift capacity at pins is 2700lbs. i seem to be leaning towards the clam style vs the bucket style. weight also seems to be a big factor for me, especially since I’ll probably have this on most of the time.

Is there anything u can’t do with it that u think you could do with their other grapple? The one that doesn’t have as long as a bottom shelf
