Hi all. I just bought a galvanized utility trailer and on the way home I had to drive on a gravel road that they had just graded and sprayed calcium chloride. I had planned to wash the guck off the trailer when I got home but I forgot and today when I went out I noticed some pretty bad pitting...
Hi gang.
I need your advice about the work I am about to do at our home. I am going to get the local code requirements tomorrow but in the meantime I'm in a quandary.
The house is not quite 30 years old and the existing roof is OSB sheets 16" OC. The OSB is frighteningly thin, I think it's...
I have a retail store and it was just remodelled. The engineer recommended against LED lighting, which I wondered about as there are a LOT of light fixtures. The fixtures are brand new 4 foot long, each with one electronic ballast and 3 T8 32 watt bulbs (with a reflector). There are 311...
So my wife and I and two friends just got tickets to the 100th running of the Indy 500! I've been to NASCAR races but never an Indy race and the 500 has been on my bucket list for some time.
Have any of you been to the 500? Any suggestions for what our "must see" or "must do" items should...
For about 30 years all my wife and I have done when we have time off work is stay home and work on one thing or another with the occasional day trip thrown in. There actually were two vacations we took, one just about 30 years ago when we drove around Quebec for a couple of weeks and 3 days we...
I'm having this odd problem and I wonder if any of you have any ideas. I have a convertible jet pump that works on a 60 foot drilled well. Water is down about 30 feet and the pipes go down about 45 or 50 feet. Standard rig, injector at the bottom. Pump runs on 110 15 amp circuit and is in a...
I know it is not the preferred method, but is there any health reason I cannot cook a pig (pig roast style) a day in advance of a party?
Specifically, I would cook it, let it rest and then cut it all up and put into metal trays in the fridge. The day of the party I would transport it onto...
Hi all. I have to power a new hot tub. The tub comes with a 40 amp GFCI and the wire run will be 55 feet. What do you guys think for the correct guage? Should I go #8? The wire has to come through the wall of the house from the panel, and will run in a zig zag route around the...
I don't know if there is more to this story but it sure sounds like a remorseless selfish act. News - Man chops down 22 protected trees to improve his view - The Weather Network
Thought some of you man find it interesting.
There are so many different people we hold in high esteem, albeit for different reasons. I've been watching a lot of old movies lately and am smitten with Audrey Hepburn. So classically beautiful, a war survivor, noble by birth, talented and filled with benevolence. She's the sort of...
The thread about "do you like the sound of your vehicle" made me remember this video. It is great!!! Which do you like best? I like the V12 and V10 way more than the V6 or V8.

So every fall my CK30 has the same issue. Turn ignition switch on, buzzing from glow plug relay, won't start. Have had good advice on this forum before but even after searching threads I cannot figure it out this year.
Last year tractor would start no problem if I ran a jumper from negative...
You know what, I am not sure if it has a rubber edge. The one I can get for $1500 has hydraulic angle and trip feature so would be better from a wear and tear point of view. But the pusher with the sides would move more snow (which may not be absolutely necessary).
This is the one I can...
Hi all. I've been thinking of improving my snow removal by changing the front bucket on the tractor to a snow pusher or plow blade. I know the subframe blades such as sold by Michigan Iron are the best way to go but a recent ad for an items for sale near me looks interesting.
Does anyone have...
Every year I have a problem at the end of the summer whereby my negative battery cable needs to be removed, the battery terminal cleaned, the frame rail connection cleaned and the cable reinstalled to keep my CK30 starting.
This year, same old symptoms started to show up.
1. Turn key on...
So this is a new one. I got a terrible sinus and chest cold about a month ago. It's still lingering a bit but one day about half way through the ordeal, I suddenly lost almost all of my sense of taste and I've lost all of my sense of smell.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did it come...
Since there was a teeny bit of interest to the F1 thread last year I will try again this year.
Who's ready and waiting for the first race? I know I'm excited to see Hammy at Mercedes this year and Lotus will certainly be very strong.
Red Bull seems to be the favorite again, with Seb's odds...
Did you know....

I am an internet real estate junky. I have started looking at properties on Europe now and check out the new digs I am going to purchase as soon as that big truckload of money comes in.

Sadly my dealer is folding up shop end of this month. My nearest dealer is now 45 minutes away. Sucks. If anyone knows of a dealer in Ontario they really like that isn't too far from Uxbridge please let me know who and where they are.
I've gotta say the way I sleep is bizarre. I roll around, wake up about every hour, twist the sheets up, snore, wake up and read a book for 2 hours in the middle of the night. My wife and I now sleep in two different rooms on two different floors of the house because of this. It's so bad...
G'day yall. 31 degrees here, cloudy but finally not raining. Looks like a dusting of snow last night. Can't wait to watch the F1 race this AM and then get off to doing chores (don't have to work today).
Oh, and Mouse, my chickens can't tell time but they can dance a mean jig!
Stumbled across this.
Three comments....
1. Pat Benatar and Joan Jett are getting hotter!
2. Debbie Harry was way beautiful when she was young, never realized how much.
3. There have to be more vids like this one, I'm on the hunt!!!
And, lastly, the comment that shall not be spoken of...
Hey all. Today is my day off. The weather here has been miserable the last 2 days and I was up about 3am and the sky was crystal clear! But now, it's clouding over, about 40 degrees and likely to rain. Whenever I'm off it rains!!!
Oh well, it's still a good day to be on the right side of...
25 degrees here today. A beauty morning. Supposed to cloud over and rain this aft. Of course, I have to work this AM and have the aft and tomorrow off....
Morning lads. 41 degrees here, mix of sun and cloud coming today with a high in the mid 50's. Jobs to do today include move firewood and clean up leaves and put the winter cover around the kitchen porch. Oh, and eating a nice roast chicken dinner!!!
Ah it's a fine mornin' today. About 55 degrees, sunny and gorgeous. The leaves are starting to change, the air is fresh and clear and it's good to be alive today.
Morning all. It's a beauty day here, and a holiday to boot. Clear and crisp, about 65 degrees. Will be about 75 today, clouds apparently by end of the day. It's a good day to be on the right side of the dirt!
Thanks to all of you who have posted on the 'no start' topic in the past. A little forum searching on my part led me to suspect the dreaded bad ground and voila, she's up and running again. Years ago on my Allis Chalmers I actually had a relatively new positive cable go bad in the middle. It...
I must admit with some ebarassment that despite on schedule oil changes, regular greasing and so on I had forgotten about the air filter.
The other day I changed it (at 430 hours:shocked:) and WOW what a difference. The tractor has more power by a noticeable margin. The old filter was just...
Great thread everyone! I love trees, should have been some sort of tree biologist or something. I have books and books on forests, trees, the biggest ones, the oldest ones, etc.
Nice stuff. If they could talk!
The fact that I'm getting swarmed by mosquitoes down back this week makes me wonder if the mild winter is going to cause a huge influx of bugs this year. If we have a wet spring I think we will be in trouble.
In the pet store I expect we will be selling A LOT of pesticide products for flea...
I like to change my avatar when the mood strikes me. So, I wonder how you have decided upon yours. Do you keep it the same or change it from time to time?
Here is a history of the ones that I have had and the reasons for them, if any. I'm sure I've forgotten a few too.

The pet peeve about winter thread got me thinking about what I like about it.
I love
-how pretty it is
-how clean the air is
-no bugs
-snowmobiling
-walks in the woods where it's usually too wet to go
-seeing animal tracks
-plowing snow (yes, I really like doing it)
What about you?
I love steak, but rarely make it at home because I just can't make it as good as at a proper steak restaurant. How about you TBN'ers share your best steak cooking secrets with the rest of us.
Note: I have a gas and a charcoal grill so I'm eager to try lots of new things.

The thread about trespassing and theives contains a suggestion that TBN'ers would make good minutemen. I think that concept is awesome, so I'm making a list of why TBN'ers have one up on the rest of the masses.
Here are some thoughts about why TBN'ers could rule the world if there is major...
I can't afford one right now but if I got one I'd get the following options (note, I am not sure what all of the options are but for the start...)

- winch
- brush guard
- powered box dump lifter

I know there were terrible storms in more places that Joplin but when I read the news I found this link. It's and chilling to say the least, particularly for someone like me who really has never been exposed to tornadoes.
There is no foul language and there are no graphic images. It's just...
I have not caught anything yet but I've had a pheasant all around it. (The bird actually escaped from my aviary).
It's an old rabbit cage that I took the floor out of and modified the door on. A quick easy project and hopefully I can catch me some birds.
I actually reattached the floor along...
I thought this was interesting so I'll share. I broke the front sway bar link on my truck (Dodge ram) so I bought a new one at the auto parts store. ($92 but that's another story).
Anyhow, the link itself was made in Canada, the rubber bushings and nuts were from the USA. The little washer...
Saw these for the first time at TSC yesterday. They are on sale for $99.99. They sound pretty good, but I thought I'd ask if any of you have used them or heard about them?

This was in my local paper. The stats are Canadian but I can't imagine they are much different elsewhere.
I could not find a link so I just typed it out.

I'll start off, various hats including my Kioti cap on the tractor when it was new. Accidentally put a picture of my Allis in this and don't know how to remove it. Ha ha It's not a very good hat.
A while back I put the back end of my tractor (CK30 hst) into the water. It was in up to the rear axle for about 2 days (took a while to get it out). I went to the dealer to ask if there were breathers or any other areas water could get into the differential or ?? and he said I was not deep...
My dealer told me they are "on the water as we speak". Hopefully we'll get to see one soon. There are 50 coming to Canada but he did not know about the US.
Some bizarre things are happening.
I have had a hot tub for many years and twice in the last 6 months it has tripped the breaker. There are two breakers, one in the panel and another outside on the side of the house (regulation GFI). I cannot figure why.
The main breaker panel in my...
Hi all. I have done some searches but did not have any luck so here goes. I am installing "invisible type" dog fencing around roughly 7 acres and don't have enough wire. I can buy more at $60 for 500 feet but I was thinking of a substitute wire that may be cheaper. It's very small guage wire...
Sounds crazy, but I'm happy to have a skunk back living under the freezer in my chicken coop. I had one about 2 years ago but my neighbor shot the fella. The reason I'm happy is because he only robs a few eggs and I have more than enough but the benefit is that my rats and mice are GONE...
I got rats again in the small barn. This is where the chicken coop and aviary are and every few years we get some due to spilled feed (feed is stored in steel so they can't get at it but you know chickens). This year, the poison I usually get (and that worked amazing in 1 to 2 days) is not...
My 1997 Foreman 400 suddenly won't start electrically. The battery is fine, the coil and regulator are fine and it' pull starts no problem. There is a small round "thing" behind the batter that makes a click sound when I push the electric start lever. And some mice chewed some of the wires...
I have seen a few threads in which people document falling through ponds. But I drive through a swamp in the winter when it's frozen in which the water is only 1 to 4 feet deep but there is lots of nasty black muck. Has anyone ever fallen through in such a situation? If so, what got you out...
I have an older Allis Chalmers tractor (compact, a 616 same as a simplicity 4040). All of a sudden it won't start. The starter throws out and meshes with the flywheel but it won't turn the flywheel (starter does not seem seized, just weak).
I checked the battery and it is fine. Can a starter...
The front electric clutch on the AC 616, AC 620 and the Simplicity 4040 is the same. I keep breaking them. I have a 616 and the thin metal strips that hold the front plate to the clutch break. I'll try and post a picture to help. Actually, it's the pressed rivets that break not the strips...
Yesterday I was mowing some old trails through the woods and I must have hit a wasp nest. All of a sudden I felt the tell tale hot burn of wasp stings on my back and leg. Yeouch!
The old Allis Chalmers mower throws some pretty good smoke so I throttled up and high tailed it out of there but...
Discussing Palladin in another thread got me thinking about all the western shows we've watched.

Help! I have a new TV and a laptop that is pretty new running Vista. The info I have says to take a VGA cable and hook it to the TV and the laptop. OK, went to store, got said cable, no signal at TV side. I know the laptop is aware of the cable as it "beeps" when I hook the cable in. I...
I love learning about new members from all over the world and in all walks of life. But, could you please fill out just a bit more in your profiles to help us know you a bit better. I know many of us are concerned about security on the web, but even a little bit about what country you are...
Well, a few more dings in the old truck yesterday. First, I was backing a trailer and jacknifing it when I went a wee bit too far. Dang, there goes the top edge of the tailgate! (Gate was down as long load was in the box). Oh well.....
Then there was the big hay bale that I inadvertently...
We need to buy a new TV and I know bupkuss about them. LCD, Plasma, LED, what the heck is the difference?
I read some online reviews and stuff and I gather that Plasma is the best with LCD next and LED last. That said, I don't want to get plasma because apparently they burn in. Or, is...
Some of you asked me to show a pic of the "Great Pumpkin" at work with rounds. Here is me moving a VERY heavy bale on Sunday. The bale was at least 800lbs and I bet more. Anyhow, she moves them like a champ.
NOTE: keep them low, the pic is a bit for show and the rops is only folded as I...
OK, here's one for the books. Since I turned 45 I sweat buckets. I am reasonably fit, although I do admit to having an extra 20lbs on me (I'm 6'3" and just under 220lbs).
I have always been a bit of a furnace, comfy at 40 below and not often having to wear gloves or mittens unless it's...
Hi all
I have always been a die hard "you gotta have an 8 foot box' guy. My reasoning is that the sole purpose I have a truck is as a hauler and lessening the hauling capacity seems counter to that purpose. (I don't use my truck as a daily driver).
Nowadays though it seems just about...
If anyone is within driving distance of this town, go next year to the car show. It was yesterday and it was awesome. I bet there were over 1000 cars.

I went to an estate auction today that was a thrill due to all the old tractors. This photo journal is only part of them, as I did not take pics of all the non-restored iron.
Sadly for the estate, but happily for buyers, the prices were low. Examples: Farmalls all went for under $2000 (They...

My old compressor finally bit the dust. I need to replace it, but don't know much about them. At first look, they sure are expensive but I don't want to get one that's too small. My old one looked to be about 20 gal size but didn't have any markings on it. It really was not strong enough...

In about 2 weeks I'm going on my annual fishing trip. A few close friends have cottages on "Canoe Lake" in Algonquin Park and we make an annual pilgrimage to go trout fishing and generally have a good time.
I am really looking forward to it and each year we do at least one "day trip" where...
Any advice would be appreciated. I have a CK30 HST with the Kioti Backhoe.

Anybody heard anything about the alleged UTV? I see a banner ad on this site from time to time saying "coming soon" but......
Makes me a bit nervous about buying one when they do finally show up. Maybe they are having problems.
I have an older Honda Foreman 400 (1997). The thing has been awesome and has never had a mechanical problem. I use it to ride forest trails (hills, mud, across shallow streams), pull a small trailer around the farm and to go sight seeing around the area or visiting neighbors (we are legally...
The what country would you live in post got me thinking (yeah, I know, head for the hills...:p).

For the last month or two I have been having ongoing chest pains. They are usually in my upper left chest and also in my left arm. I have been under a lot of pressure at work and years ago I had the same thing but the doctor said it was stress related.
Anyhow, it was getting worse and worse...

I am all keyed up to watch the race. I used to be "nuts" for Nascar but I must admit my interest has waned a bit the last 3 or so years. Nevertheless, I'll be tuned in with my chicken wings and so on.

Well today I slept in until just before 9:00 am. Man, I have not done that for years and years. Normally I never sleep late, but I have a really awesome new mattress now and the thing is a dream. I can see more of this in the future, time permitting.
Do you sleep in ever?
Just learned yesterday that a horse on the farm behind mine got killed somehow over the last 2 weeks. Apparently the owner found it dead and torn to bits in the pasture (it's a big pasture and goes over a hill so it could not be seen from the house). I don't know the details yet (day or night...
Well, the other day I went to open the hood and....it won't open because it won't clear the brush guard. Somehow, I must have bent it back a bit. I have no idea how although I did push a couple of round bales around but I would not have thought they would do that sort of damage.

What is it with HT covers? I just had to buy another new one, this is the 3rd cover in less than 10 years. They, over time, get totally waterlogged no matter what I try to do. I even kept the last one and tried to dry it out but after months and months it never dried out ever.

Anyone know anything about a Champion brand wood splitter from TSC (in Canada, don't know if they have in the US).
I would like to know if they are any good, there is a 22 ton on sale for $999 which seems pretty affordable.
I just bought a new pair of leather "roper style" cowboy boots. I asked the guy what preserving treatment he recommended expecting the normal answers. Nope, he said use Fluid Film! He showed me boots he has had for years and they look great. He said about 4 applications a year is all you...

Hi all. I have the CK30 HST with a KB2475 BH and presently have a 9" trenching bucket. It works great and I've love using it. I also have a manual thumb on the BH.

Projects around the farm so far this year.....
Projects so far this year, not including my day job.
1. Built a dog kennel on the south side of the house that we can let the dogs into right off the kitchen deck.
2. Put about 30 tonnes of gravel on the driveway (playtime on the tractor)
3...
I have been redoing around the house and one issue was that the shrubs and bushes had all got overgrown. I used the BH to dig them out and figured I would plant them in the aviary. (Had to do that by hand). It really came out good. Here are a few shots.
There is also a shot of my dog...
Scotty can post his grand puppy so I think we should start a thread of what animals we have in general.

Here's some more weekend projects.
1. We made a "car port" type addition to the Donkey shed. It's 12 wide by 25' deep and had multiple gates so we can isolate animals if needed.
Our ground is all rocky so the BH was great to dig holes for the posts and level the area out so the grade...
This spring I used the tractor and BBlade to alter my driveway and make it run right to the bottom of the kitchen deck walk out. Then I spread gravel down and put a topper over the deck and fenced in the area. When the built the house the grades were all wrong and now the water drains away...
I went to my dealer yesterday to get a new thumb (yay!) and saw a CK27 with the new QA bucket rig. Wow, I am really envious. The rig fits right onto the loader arms and the bucket itself is bigger and superior in construction.
He's going get a price for me, but I'm scared how much it may...
So, we call the phone company because we have really bad interfearance on our home line. A tech comes out and determines that the problem is between the service box at the front of our lot and our house. He says he's going to send a bury crew out to run us a new line (everything is underground...
I've now had my tractor for about 9 months. I love it. That said, if I bought today I would do a few things different and wonder what some of you have to say about the same thing.
What I'd do different if I bought today:
1. Get 2 remotes on the back instead of one set
2. Get a QA FEL bucket...
I was wondering if it would be possible to make a shallow trench by setting the backhoe bucket about a foot into the ground and then driving the tractor forwards. I get that it would be really hard to keep it from going up and down but I wonder if any of you guys have thought about it.
To me...
Let's see your woodshed pictures. Nothing is better than the comfort of seasoned wood "in the bank" long before you need it.
This wood is from the load I split early this year, the shed holds about 7.5 cords and I've got about 2 more cords elsewhere that won't fit. The shed itself is all made...
I have to shallow bury some wire and hoses, maybe 600 feet or so. Anybody ever tried ripping a trench with one scarifier of their box scraper down? I figure I could angle the scraper to get the deepest penetration and just drive along.
Any comments or suggestions?
Here's one for the experts, what nation do you think has the most heavily armed civilian population? My pal and I were discussing this and could not come to a clear agreement. We seem to think it's probably Israel, but what do you think?

Hi all
I have a 6 month old CK30 HST. The thing is awesome but I've made a few longer trips lately and noticed something odd about the steering. When I drive, I constantly have to "correct" a bit to the left and a bit to the right as normal but slowly, the steering wheel is rotating all the...
Well, the wimpy Canadian in me is sweating bullets today and it's only 75 degrees (23.5 c). I don't know how folks in the south of the US or other parts of the world can work when it gets so hot.
Any tips from experienced southern folks? Drink a lot of water, take breaks, visit the shade...
Man, if you have not seen this movie check it out. I just watched it for the first time and I can't beleive how great it was. Sorry to be a bit off topic but I had to share.
My Kioti manual says that it is normal for cylinders to "sag" a bit over extended periods of time. I'm not sure what the right term is but by "sag" I mean leak and extend on their own.
I got a demo BH and I notice it's cylinder leakage is more than on the brand new loader. As a test I left...
I have loved my old Nikon SLR for many years. The pics can't be beat but it's well past it's prime and I need to move to the digital era. We do have a digital camera already, it was "under $200" and is OK but nothing like a real camera.
I want to get a good digital, something that will rival...

Can I hook the lines up backwards on a 2475 backhoe. The manual says "red here and white here" for the 2 lines but there are no red or white ties on mine.
Would it do harm for them to be reversed?
I've been doing searches but can't seem to find what I'm after.
Now that I'm about to start using my backhoe, I am not sure exactly how to "park" the tractor.
Can anyone give advice re a subframe hoe.
-what is the best position for the FEL, flat on the ground or curled down?
-how much down...
The 'help me name my tractor' turned out to be "most excellent" so I want to solicit the group one more time.
My wife and I have been trying to think of a name for our place for about 10 years and nothing has stuck.
NOTES:
-10 acres
-hobby farm
-have had sheep, goats, pigs, cows, ducks...
Ok all.
I have a city job at a desk managing people (lots and lots of people). I come from a long line of farmers (family landed in Albany NY in the early 1700's and moved to Canada in the later 1700's). I was actually born when we lived on the farm but we had to leave when I was a young lad...
So often I see tractors parked with the FEL left in the up position. I don't mean when somebody is just off it for a minute either, I mean at dealerships, in fields, for sale on the side of the road etc.
That seems very risky to me, why take the chance of somebody who is not experienced...
Fellas, how can I find out what the tow capacity for my truck is? I have a number that I got from someplace but I have no idea where from and it seem kinda high.
Truck

For some reason I thought the tc was just over 8000 lbs but it seems a lot...
Ok fellas. MissouriThunder got me thinking (I know, uh-oh). I have to come up with a name for my tractor. I have two old Allis Chalmers with names (Pretty Allis (aka Sweet Allis) and Ugly Allis) and my new Kioti CK30 is in need.
I have thought and thought without success but MissouriT got...
I got a new game camera for my b'day. I never even knew there was such a thing until I saw them on this forum and dropped enough hints that the wife picked up on it.
Set it up yesterday and so far I have 22 photos.
14 of me looking at it wondering if it is working,
3 of my dogs...
The first really warm day was glorious yesterday. I figured I would do some work in the yard with the BH.
Well, it got hot so I put on loose walking shorts. Later, when I was getting off the tractor to walk to the back get onto the hoe (Kioti has 2 seats, one for tractor and one for hoe)...
Guys, I am buying two "retired" 38 foot semi trailers. They have 2 axles and are fiberglass bodies with the usual wood floor and landing gear at the front. I want to hide them down behind the barn and I have a perfect spot for it.
However, I can get them delivered to just beside the barn and...
Well, either Yogi or Boo-boo was by last night and smashed a bunch of my bird feeders up. Every couple of years this happens. I guess I will have to add more electric fence and bring my bird feeders in at night for a while. We are thick with black bears around here.
(Sigh):(
In this tragic story a man was burning brush and cutting down trees or at least a tree at the same time. He told his son and another kid to sit in his truck far away while he dropped a tree. His young boy saw the fire spread from the brushpile to the grass and got out of the truck to walk to...
The manual for my new CK 30 HST has a statement in it about what RPM's to use for various tasks.
It says basically, "refer to the table below for RPM specifications in various uses"
........then, of course, there is no table in the manual.
I know the rear PTO RPM marker is about 2600...
Got a load of logs in to cut up for firewood. Approximately 70 logs in the pile, mostly maple with a few black cherry and a few yellow birch. The logs were great and the log guy said that due to low demand the sawmills are rejecting hardwoods that they would have sawn just a year ago. Almost...
Well, just got my 50 hour service done at the dealer on the DK30. Cost me about $380.00.
Ouch.
I'm not unhappy about it though. I figured I would bite the bullet for the 50 hr and do the rest myself after that. The tractor is a big investment so I feel better this way for some reason...
Was unloading a wood splitter from the back of my pickup yesterday. The splitter is home made and is too wide for the box so I had to take the wheels off. It's a big heavy splitter.
Anyhow, I was lifting it with chains, using 3 chains in a triangle to keep everything level and stable...
I love my new CK30 HST but I have a question for the more experienced members here.
What tips do you have about the proper method for changing from one range to another? Lower the RPM's or not necessary? I am applying the clutch, lowering the RPM's and stepping on the HST pedal to "lower...
Anybody out there a Canuck Kioti dealer? My dealer is very worried about the slumping Canadian $ and the impact it is having on his ability to order equipment for resale because he has to pay US$. He says he has always used the "price and warranty and quality" argument to sell tractors vs...
A dealer near me has a Kubota B5263 front mount blower (63") for $1300. The ad says
"63" front mount,valve,mounting kit,off B8200HST"
Could I make this work on a Kioti CK 30. Sorry but I haven't many details as he is closed and the gate is shut. I can't see how it drives etc. Seems cheap...
Hey all. I have a 1997 Honda Foreman 400 4x4 and the front bash plate is in need of replacement. The local dealers cannot find one for me. Any ideas on where I could maybe get one? Or am I going to have to make one?
Here is a stock pic showing the ATV. The plate I need is the aluminum one...
Any of you guys read a mag called "Farm Show"
It's pretty low tech, but there are some pretty neat home built things in it.
Agriculture equipment, farm magazines, farm equipment, farm inventions, farm machinery, agriculture machinery
Hey all. Check this thread out from the JD forum for "bucket buddy". I think it is a great idea. Anybody done it with a Kioti? Any comments?

Got the new tractor home but the dealer won't have the manual for me till next week as he lost it. I have a few questions for the group that did not occur to me at the dealership.
1. What uses do you recommend for the 1, 2, 3 ranges? Is 3rd really only for driving from one place to...
Hey all
I posted in the general forum but wanted to share here too of course :o:)
Just bought a shiny new CK30HST with KL130 Loader and KB2475 Backhoe. The whole package was $25,037 which includes the installation of the rear remotes for the BH (plus taxes of course). Boy am I excited. The...

Well, now I've done it Ollie. Made the downpayment today on a Kioti CK 30 with loader. Hooray and thanks to all of you who have put up with me posting and asking questions for a year!!!!
Jim:)
More details to come, still trying to get the wife to agree to add on the backhoe.
After giving up a year ago I am now much closer to actually buying a tractor. Loader work is what it will be for, snow, manure, 500lb round bales.
I have narrowed it down to either a Kioti CK30 or Kubota L3400. Have tested both, no preference (HST). Have read a TON of reviews and overall...
Hi all
Check this amazing auction out. About 300 vintage tractors plus more more more more. Amazing. This guy is a huge equipment dealer in this part of Canada and has been collecting for years. It would be worth the trip if anyone has the time.
Go to Hahn Farms Ltd - Used Farm...
Hi all
There is a New Holland 1925 for sale near me. It's got 1500 hours and it was new in 1999. I am hoping someone can direct me as to where to find some specs on it such as pto hp, hydraulic flow rate, rear 3ph lift, overall weight. Just basic stuff like that. TractorData does not list...
Hey all
Found this on the Ontario Canada craiglist site. JD 4410 TLB for a super low price. Too good to be true I think.
Here is the response from the "seller" to my emial.
Hello there,
Thank you for your email. Here are some details about the tractor:
THE TRACTOR HAS TURF TIRES, POWER...
I am getting conflicting tire advice from different dealers. One is telling me to get R4's and the other says turf tires are best.
They will be on either a Kubota L3400 or a John Deere 3320 (haven't decided which one to buy yet). Uses to include loader work up to 1000lbs (manure, general...
Hi all
I have been posting on the orange tractor pages but a few of the guys there have told me I should be looking at green too. I am hoping to buy a tractor for between $15k and $20k for the following:
-moving manure (have cows, goats, sheep)
-moving 600 - 700 lb round bales (only 2 a week...
Hi all
I got a dealer who wants to sell me a brand new L3400 HST (3 range) with a loader, intermediate tires (loaded for no extra charge) for $21,000 Canadian. I know that is more than the US price but I think it's a pretty good deal (forgot which loader, but it's the "usual one" for the...
Hi all
I am contemplating a new tractor with FEL and wonder what advice you would have. I have a 10 ac hobby farm and use the tractor for snow removal, manure moving and moving hay. Right now I have an older Allis compact and the loader can only lift about 400lbs.
I was hoping for 4wd HST...
Hi all. Long time lurker, this is my first post.
I am trying to decide which tractor (with FEL) to get, I'm going to buy in March. My uses are moving manure, moving snow (long drive) and moving 4x5 round bales (weight up to about 700lbs, sometimes more, sometimes less - I use 2 each...
