There are about 4 different ways to secure the gland in the end of the cylinder. We'd need pics to know which one you got. If you can leave the far end installed on the tractor any heavy wrenching will be easier. You might need to find an appropriate pin spanner too.

You should have a local hydraulics shop that can rebuild those cylinders faster than you can get some things mailed to you. Shouldn't be too expensive.

A hydraulic shop can likely flare the cut off ends to accept common hose ends. That or supply hose ends/adapters for the existing tractor ports.

I went and replicated your experiment with my mx4800. Full bucket of 3/8 minus. Lifted it easily. No rear ballast. I can turn the front wheels about 3/4 to full lock before binding. If I start rolling, I get full lock. I'd say you need to have your steering looked at.

Are the front/rear remotes factory options? If not I'd be concerned they are undersized and contributing to problems. I have the same tractor with no issues. You could also have water in the fluid of other blockage type issues.

Kubota does not use ag connectors on the backhoe loop. I'd have to go check, but the are not pioneer style. Not flat face either. Also, I think you need a controllable hydraulic source for the seeder. Using the bare backhoe loop won't work. You need rear remotes.

Post a link to your valve. Most have a tank line. Also most require you to purchase a power beyond sleeve as a separate part. Also make sure to match flow rate to the tractor specs. Work ports control the "work". i.e. the cylinder.

You don't really need width. You want it strong enough to do the job, but not so heavy you lose lift capacity. But, in the end, its a personal decision. Tell me, why do you think you need wider? How much does your current choice weigh? 700, 800 lbs? Thats half your available lift capacity.
