2320 John Deere
Not What I Was Hoping For
Model Year: 2013

Many, many bolts are always getting loose. The hydro pump has been replaced and cost 1,000 plus. It is underpowered for the attachments I have also purchased with it. The backhoe can only pull half before the bypass kicks in. Medium sized bucket, mower,.drive over: fine. Fan belt. broke twice. This is the last Deere I will ever purchase. Next time I will get something orange.

Pros: Parts and service available.
Cons: As stated above.

John Deere 2320

I purchased the JD 2320 as an upgrade to my previous JD 2305 was did a great job for three years I worked it. Have retained all of my attachments and am very happy with my decision. The rig rides smoother over my less than perfect lawn due to the larger tires which eases the strain on my lower back (have had disk surgery).I also like the larger capacity of the 3PH as well as position control.

Pros: Reliability, retained value, ease of operation, operators position and comfort
Cons: Only 2 Ranges, should have 3

There was no 2520 in the list but the only issue I've ever experienced is a leaking hydraulic coupler. These are built to last. I had a JD 4110 before this tractor and the quality was the same. John Deere means quality.

Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: Seat suspension. Could be better.

Deere 2320 Perfect for Tractor for Me
Model Year: 2013

I was looking for a compact tractor. I use it mostly for my business as I put a 4' aerator on the back. I also hooked up a 6.5' snowplow for the winter. Pushes a foot of snow, no problem. When shopping, I looked at a lot of tractors. Mahindra is nice, but to heavy, and lots of sheet metal which will only rust. I thought the LS 2020 was a step below Kubota and Deere, along with the new Holland (same tractor). Cheaper, but you get what you pay for. So, for me, it came down to the Kubota b2320 or the Deere. Kubota had a 3 range tranny, which I liked. It was however, harder to service, and the last straw was numerous reports of the treadle pedal sticking, which was the same problem I had with my Cub. Therefore, I went with the Deere, and just love it!

Pros: Resale value, overall performance.
Cons: A little hard to refuel.

2320 John Deere
Great Tractor
Model Year: 2013

I bought this tractor to maintain my 3 acre property on the side of a mountain. I have a flat that leads to a gradual slope that gives my quad a hard time. My first week of clearing weeds, I found the narrow wheel base made the tractor a little top heavy and put it on its side. I grabbed a chain and hooked it to my 4x4 and turned it right side up. Not one scratch, I put the key in and it fired right up. I've learned how to better manage the turns and have been trucking along with no issue since.

Pros: Plenty of power, strong chassis, easy to use.
Cons: Top heavy.

2320 Too Small?
Model Year: 0

I really do love this tractor, it has some astounding power for a small tractor and is compact enough it can get in to some pretty tight places. I rated the features a 4 because I hate the "dummy light" for the temperature. I actually put a gauge on mine but it was tough putting one on it where it wouldn't get knocked off. I gave a 3 for value because 20K is just a ton of money for this size tractor. But hey, they are all crazy high. The only problem I have had with it is the grill clogging up and it getting too hot before the light is activated. With a gauge I can watch it climb and I know when I need to stop and clear the grill. Also, if your going to do much pushing and pulling with it you really need the rear wheel weights.

Pros: Excellent all purpose tractor for odd jobs.
Cons: Temperature light is bad idea. Needs a gauge.

Great Tractor
Model Year: 2013

Have had the tractor almost a year now. It does a great job mowing with the 54D drive over deck. I use it in the garden to get up potatoes with the middle buster it really does a good job. Tractor has plenty of power. My rear tires are loaded and it will still break loose and spin when pulling hard. Tractor is solid and built well. Hope to get a boom pole, one bottom plow, and scrape blade this coming year.

Pros: Mows great and it's a good size for using around house.
Cons: None.

2320 John Deere
2320 End of Year Review
Model Year: 2010

I have had my 2320 with 62 MMM and 53 inch FEL for about 7 months now and have worked it about 100 hours. I purchased it 40 hours and it also had a 4JD bush hog that I had no use for and promptly sold. In that time I have learned to love the machine and now question my judgment for not having purchased it sooner. We live on a wonderful peninsula on the Tennessee River. It is maintenance intensive, or has been so far, although our overall goal has been to make is less so as we become older. The property has about of 1000 feet of seawall, a boat house, boat dock and large cabana, a large garage, 2+ landscaped acres and another acre of so that is wooded. The big decision to purchase the tractor was after hand laying 35 tons of river rock around the property. A friend helped with most of the rock installation with his wonderfully handy Kubota with FEL and 18 inch BH. I found the tractor for sale locally from an individual that had purchased it to compliment his large MF. To me, it seemed that he was selling the tractor as a result of his frustration with the integration of mower deck and the FEL. Those familiar with the problem know that there was no way to park the deck and utilize the FEL. I purchased the tractor in pristine condition with just a few hours and immediately ran into the same problems that I think jaded it's previous owner. I went to the forum portion of this site and soon found that others had experienced the problem. Also like others on this site, I was able remove the deck, inspect the snail cam and make adjustments to the rotary deck height adjustment position to be able to "park" the deck and use the FEL. The entire problem stemmed from the fact that at some point late in the production of the deck, the decal that surrounded the height adjustment knob was installed in the wrong position. The decal was rotated approx 30 degrees from the proper position, meaning that when the deck heigth adjustment knob was positioned in the "park" position, removing control of the lift arms, it was actually still able to move up and down when hydraulics were applied to the FEL. As numerous posters mentioned, the "fix", if that is an appropriate term for such a simple act, was to observe where the snail cam was from under the tractor and mark the position with a Sharpie on the deck relative to the installed decal. With that done, I was able to adjust the deck and have had no difficulty using it at all. My wife routinely mows the 2+ acres very methodically with the 62 MMM in short order. I have gotten reasonably skilled and installing and removing the FEL. Removal can be accomplished in a couple of minutes and installation in almost the same time. It's remarkably easy, even for neophytes like me. After scaring the crap out of myself using the loader without weight on the back, I purchased the Heavy Hitch system and 240 lbs. of weight to keep the ass on the ground. It is a wonderful system that allows simple exchange of 3-point implements after they are adjusted. I use a Land Pride 5'Box Blade on the Heavy Hitch. As others have also noted, the 5' box is at the limit of the 2320's capabilities. The 4 footer was just not enough and the 5 footer works the tractor pretty hard, but it has been up the task, allowing me to repair a septic system with 85 yards of fill. It has also been invaluable in the demo/renovation of our boat house, boat dock and decks. While it has been a great machine, there seems to be a giant lapse in judgment in using a non-suspension seat on the tractor---incredible! I installed the spring fix like many on the forum and while not great, it's better than it was. For us, the 2320 is a really good match for our needs. Yes, there have been times with I wished that the FEL cycle time was shorter, but when it's all said and done, the tractor works very well.

Pros: Incredibly useful for day to day hauling and moving. Can really work when needed.
Cons: Price of parts. No seat suspension. Quality control installing deck adjustment decal.

2320 John Deere
JD 2320 Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia
Model Year: 0

I bought a JD 2320 in 2008. Bigger wheel base and overall weight, better 3 point linkage lift capacity and a better foot control system (for fwd and reverse) were the reasons. Chose a JD 54 mid-mounted deck. Outfit has generally performed well, except that at 333 hrs. it fractured a universal joint on the transmission drive. This I now know to be a common fault and have taken remedial steps to ensure it does not reoccur. Deck cuts well but is hard on wheels - now modified to allow easier/cheaper replacement. Also hard on idler pulleys. JD parts are expensive through our local dealer.

Pros: Machine performs well with 54 D deck and bigger 3-point lift capacity.
Cons: Has basic design fault in capacity to lubricate drive train and idler pulleys.

Great Tractor
Model Year: 2011

There is a lot to like about this tractor. Use it for mowing and plowing snow. I has plenty of power. There is a grease zerk on the front universal joint of the drive shaft is quite difficult to get at. That design was poorly thought out. Recently, the engine quit because of an issue with the fuel tank. No problem, tractor was still under warranty and dealer fixed it at no cost.

Pros: Easy on mower deck and front bucket. Plenty of power. It's a John Deere.
Cons: Greasing the zerk on the front universal joint of the drive shaft.

Problems with My 2320
Model Year: 2011

Rock pump seal 2 months after warranty. Loose bolts and nuts from the day I got it. Snow blower (front mount) bearings loosen up all the time. Backhoe leaks. Mower deck 62"---so far so good. Other than the above, no a bad machine.

Pros: Runs well.
Cons: Many see review.

2320 John Deere
Extremely Disappointed in the 2013 2320 Tractor
Model Year: 2013

I had read so many great reviews and thought that for my 3.75 acres that the 2320 would be an answer to my prayer. Instead is has been a sad disappointment. I bought a home that has some rock content to the soil. This poor tractor can't even handle pulling a box blade in low range to gather the rocks without dying out. The transmission whines and unless you have it at full throttle you can plan on it dying out if it meets any type of resistance. The tires are not true tractor tires, but look more like automobile tires. So every time I try to use the tractor and meet with resistance the tires just spin. Hey John Deere, it is called a tractor, trying installing tractor tires on it. This tractor has to be run at full throttle to handle a 5 ft. finishing mower on 6-8 inch grass. If not, it will die out every time. I called the dealer and they said the same thing they did when I bought it, "this tractor is sufficient for "most" basic needs." Well now I am stuck with a nice fat monthly payment and tractor that is really just a front loader capable device. I should have read more and paid a little more for an upgrade to the next level where I would have had a more compatible tractor for my specific needs. If you are looking for a larger garden tractor than a Sears or a Troy built, then the 2320 is okay, but don't expect big things from this tractor because it simply can't deliver. I will be selling it as soon as I can find someone that needs a marginal tractor not a real workhorse.

Pros: Size, some of the options.
Cons: Horsepower, tires, weight distribution, 3 point height limitations, whiny transmission.

Urban and Rural Farm Tractor for 1-10 Acres
Model Year: 2008

Excellent tractor, installed 200CX front loader. 30cyl diesel starts and runs strong like it should, ideal size for small farm, many implements available. My Kubota tractor friends envy me. Very comfortable to drive and includes hydro drive, cruise control, fast hitch system and two PTOs (mid and rear). Front loader works great and will lift 1600+ lbs with proper weight balance.

Pros: Size and power.
Cons: None so far.

2320 John Deere
Will Have This 2320 Forever
Model Year: 2007

The 2320 has performed flawlessly for 6 years now. It is used primarily for our orchard operation. We have a 62D MMM, JD655 rototiller, Wallenstein BX42 chipper, cultivator, potato furrower, Land Pride 72" land rake/blade, and a Spraytech E300 boom sprayer, that we use on the 2320. I would say 60% of use is mowing, 15% spraying, 15% roto-tilling, and 10% all the rest. I do all my own maintenance as per the owners manual recommendations. Unfortunately, the only problem I have ever had, is the infamous motor to hydraulic pump drive shaft. I blew the rear U-joint at about 500hrs and when it went, it tore up the front of the hydraulic pump pretty good. The repairs were done by the selling dealer to the tune of almost $4,000. Needless to say, I now religiously grease these U-joints every 100 hrs. Had I know about these U-joints, I would have been more diligent in keeping an eye on them. The engineer responsible for this design is an idiot! I also blame the dealer for not advising me of this weakness. Everyone knows it is a weakness. Aside from this, I still have the tractor, and have just bought a new 3520. I have no intentions of letting the 2320 go. It is a real treat to mow with, gets amazing fuel economy, and will continue to be the #1 tractor in the orchard. The 3520 will be back-up to the 2320 and will also handle the bigger chores, like laying mulch. The 3520 also has the FEL so it will see more of the lifting chores.

Pros: Reliability, maneuverability, fuel economy, easy for anyone to use.
Cons: Access to front U-joint to grease it, no mention of the shaft in owners manual.

2320 John Deere
John Deere 2320 Great Little Tractor with a Few Issues
Model Year: 2007

Just bought this tractor. It has a 54D belly mower and a CX 200 Front end loader and Imatch 3 point. Tractor: Engine is strong, seating is comfy and controls seem to be in the right place. Hydrostat works flawless. Loader and mower are very easy to install/remove. I love to operate this little guy. Issues: The tach/hour meters quit so if you are buying used don't take the hour meter to heart. Look at condition closely. The front u-joint on the main drive shaft is very difficult to grease but also very important to grease. Mower: 54D mower will hog through anything and IS wide enough so you can mow close to trees and such. I don't like the anti-scald wheel setup but I do like that you can lock the deck up high and then use a 3-point attachment with the mower installed. I think the mower mows the grass too short which may be operator error but I am still working this out. Loader: It is strong and fast but since the tractor only has one pump the loader will only do one thing at a time. (UP/Down or curl but not both at once.) No issue unless you come off a real dedicated front end loader. Also I do wish you could "float the bucket" which you can not do as it would make final grading easier, but no big deal. It has done everything I have ask it to do. I also love the dealer support for JD. The tractor needed a bit of work when I bought it and my dealer had every part I ask for in stock! I also thought that parts prices with reasonable. Try that with some grey market tractor!

Pros: It's green so great dealer support.
Cons: Mower height adjustment does not work well and it mows too low.
