B7500 Kubota
Does All I Need
Model Year: 0

I traded my 70's vintage Ford 1900 in on the Kubota B7500 because I no longer was logging my land and my own firewood. The 7500 does all I need around my property. It has had a hydraulic problem since day one. I re-built all the control linkage with no difference. The dealer claims it is in the control block. So am sending into the shop this week. Short of that it is a great tractor, really love the hydro. Transmission and power steering that the 1900 did not have. - Steve

Pros: Does all I need.
Cons: Hydraulics.

B7500 Kubota
Kubota B7500 HST 4x4
Model Year: 2001

Bought tractor used with 520 hrs. on it, came with 60" mower deck 60" snow blower (front mount) 5' rear grader blade, bucket loader, and a Curtis all-steel cab with glass, overhead consul, wiper, heater. Turf tires, condition about a 6 out of 10, owner had left it outside and mice got into wiring, had a small fire lost wiper motor and heater blower motor. A little work on wires a couple motors and some paint, looks good, works good. Very good on fuel, uses about 1/2 of what my 425 John Deere 20 hp gas uses, for the same operating time.

Pros: Good power, economy, easy to operate.
Cons: Parts expensive, cab is hard to get into and out of for a fat guy!

B7500 Kubota
Repurposed Tractor Enjoying Retirement
Model Year: 2000

Few things have been as dependable, durable or consistent as my Kubota over these past dozen years. While B7500HST is the smaller of their "farm tractors", at about 20hp the machine has reliably worked with me in -12 degrees to clear snow and ice from my drive when I lived in NY and recently to maintain a 2500ft gravel drive in my new home (retired to the sunny south) in Covington Louisiana. Yesterday day I purchased (finally after months of web surfing for tips and cost) a 5' grade master (or land leveler). I got the GM after a year of trying to level and repair the road with the York rake and 5'grader blade which served me well in snow plowing and keeping up a few hundred feet of New York drive way. Wife says after a year of my trying that, I made a fine washboard road. Tomorrow I'll test the Kubota and the 5' double blade plow on how well it fixes my mistake and the scars of Mother Natures heavy hand on a 1/2 mile of gravel road! Tons of material to shift, so this will be done with a loaded front bucket for Ballast, in 4 wheel drive and low gear. This test both the Kubota and the grade master leveler!

Pros: See above. My next machine will be a Kubota, but a 30hp model!
Cons: So far none.

B7500 Kubota
Review of Kubota B7500 HSD purchased 2001
Model Year: 2000

For starters I'd like to say that the 3-cylinder diesel Kubota engine is the heart of this little tractor. The transmission and 4 wheel drive setup as well as PTO and hydraulic levers were obviously designed by the second string. While far superior to consumer products this machine was not designed for serious industrial or agricultural use. I have used it for both of the aforementioned activities and bless its little chugging engine it tries to do everything I have asked of it. Some better than others. The engine is very strong for a tiny 3 cylinder. It runs a 4 foot brush hog through 6 foot high weeds at half throttle. The cooling system is poorly matched to the engine though because there is no reserve capacity for when the radiator gets clogged up with chaff. The engine will overheat if radiator is not constantly kept cleaned out. Also the radiator is hard to get to since it's right behind the battery. I have taken all the engine side covers off to improve cooling. I used the tractor originally to dig a basement under my house. I found out that the front axle final drive cases are made of a soft aluminum which does not give the bearings proper support when using the bucket loader a lot. If they didn't design the machine to use a front end loader then they shouldn't sell it with one. I have replaced the final drive cases twice since I bought it both times it began leaking oil out the front axle wheel bearing seals. The bearings were fine but the cases were wollered out. They should have used cast iron or a harder alloy of aluminum. I just finished replacing all the hydraulic hoses on the LA272 loader which were beginning to crack and fail. I just replaced the seals in the bucket hydraulic cylinders as well. The hydraulic pump leaks hydraulic oil into the engine through a defective seal so the engine oil never needs topping off. I had the dealer 'fix it' once and I put a new seal in myself once as well. I had the oil tested at the Caterpillar dealer which told me that it was hydraulic oil not diesel which was somewhat of a relief. I like the hydro-static transmission for loader work but it is very tiresome when doing field work with it. Even with the pedal latch on the dash your leg starts cramping up after being on it all day. The clutch activated PTO is far superior to the new John Deere electric clutch I saw on my friends new Deere. He engages the PTO with a switch and WHAM it tries to instantly get the brush hog up to 500 rpm. I felt sorry for the poor little Deere. I have a 95 horse Massey Ferguson 1100 tractor and a 45 horse Ford 4500 Industrial backhoe (antique) and a Komatsu D20 dozer (down for repairs). The Kubota is the newest tractor but also the one I use the most by far. I am presently fabricating a grapple for the bucket. I have 100 acres of bottom land north of Waco Texas with 30 of that being woodlands. The fences constantly need fixing and the brush always needs cutting. I find I can do the work of 3 men with just me and the little B7500 tractor when clearing brush. I use a box scraper for landscaping after dozer work and in the woods it will cut off 2 inch saplings if its sharp. The machine is now 12 years old and the 10 ply industrial tires which came on it are getting pretty well worn and showing sun damage, especially the front tires which take a lot of mesquite thorns. I recently replaced the fuel filter which was getting pretty ratty. Condensation or bad fuel are very hard on the machine and if it starts loosing power for no apparent reason then think clogged filter. The machine has nearly 500 hours on it and the seat is falling apart but to be fair it has been parked under cover about 4 days since I've had it. I'd love to build a barn if I can ever get ahead of other tasks. I would like to someday get the next bigger model Kubota or equivalent but this 12 year old machine still does everything I ask it to do and more.

Pros: Good engine.
Cons: Operators station is cramped, controls get bumped getting on and off.

Excellent Kubota B7500HST Tractor But ....
Model Year: 2000

I have had this tractor since 2000 when I bought it new, so it is 13 yrs. old and has only 600 hrs. on it. The tractor has a front end loader, mid mount mower, and a 4 ft. snow blower and is small enough but big enough to do pretty well everything you would want. I use it mostly for snow blowing and cutting 2 acres of grass. Just had it taken into the shop due to leaks from both King Pins on the front axle which started with a few drops a few years ago and have now got to the point where there are puddles on the floor. There was about that same time a low level noise from the front end. Shop informed me there is about $2,000 damage due to worn bearings and seals. They have no idea what caused it. The unit has had maintenance done at all it's scheduled maintenance points.

Pros: Great tractor perfectly sized for the residential owner.
Cons: Considering the damage over 600 hrs. I'm not impressed.

B7500 Kubota
B7500HST
Model Year: 2002

Right size for my 3 acres. Will mow all on less than 1\4 tank fuel. Have 54" belly mower, 48" bush hog and 48" box blade. The B7500 can get just about anything done with these attachments. Sure wish I had a bucket but bought used and can't find one. Very satisfied with performance and ruggedness of Kubota. Here in east Texas there are Kubota dealers\service centers in every county so parts\repair not an issue. Have over 720 hours now with no repairs. Looked at JD and they were priced about 20% more, couldn't figure out why.

Pros: Size, quality build, parts service availability.
Cons: None.

B7500 Kubota
The Little Tractor That Could
Model Year: 2003

I bought my Kubota seven or eight years ago from my boss' dad. His doctor had told him to give up gardening, so I got it for a song. I got the tiller, bush hog, box-blade, boom and two plows with it, plus a trailer to haul it in. I use the bush hog to mow my seven acres of prickly pear and weeds we call a front yard. Also to mow between the rows of long-leaf pine. The small size is just right for that job. The four wheel drive comes in handy when I till up a small pepper patch each year. Other than that, it stays under the shed, as the hours will show. The B7500 is a great small tractor. I'm glad to have it.

Pros: Great fuel mileage. I can cut grass half a day on four gallons. Plenty of power.
Cons: The wheel base is a little short. Going over rough ground can shake you up. I don't like the lift. It is hard to mow over uneven ground without scalping.

Kubota B7500 for Homeowner Use
Model Year: 2003

This tractor is perfect for my needs: mowing a five acre pasture, moving piles of snow in winter, tearing out Briars in spring, and general hauling of Cordwood, fencing materials, etc. I have the HST model which makes all the back and forth during landscaping functions very simple. Implements: 5' bush hog, 9" post hole auger, LA302 bucket loader, 52" ratchet rake (best money I ever spent on that rake)!

Pros: Easy to drive and maintain.
Cons: OEM parts ridiculously expensive, headlights very poor.

Review of B7500
Model Year: 2000

Tractor has been very reliable and think that Kubota is making the best small tractor in the marketplace. My nephew was a mechanic working on these and it was very common for him to see these little tractors with over 10K hours and still going strong with very little repair problems.

Pros: Features, reliability.
Cons: On my model wish I had a few more horsepower.

B7500 Kubota
Great Tractor. Be Aware of Extreme Conditions.
Model Year: 2003

We bought this tractor just before I was starting to build a new house on a steep hillside. I did some pre-serious use training (on my own) before I had enough confidence in taking this little beast on a hillside of +/- 30% slope, where the house was to be built. This tractor is quite narrow. Min. tread less tan 48". On this steep lot, I did all of the trenching, including foundations, underground for septic and electrical, etc. I had the underground garage dug by a big rig (8' cut), but all the other trenching and terracing was done by "The Beast". I am very happy with this tractor. I use biodiesel in it. No ugly smell. Had to change the fuel pump due to erosion of the o-rings. $75 bucks for that in 9 years.

Pros: All.
Cons: None.

Great tractor! We have 23 acres. We have put the B7500 HST through it's paces. It takes everything we can dish out. Ours is equipped with the LA302 loader, a 60" belly mower & a King cutter scrapper blade. We liquid filled the tires to give it better stability going through the hills & valleys of our land.

Pros: Tough tractor for its size!
Cons: Needs a bigger radiator, ours gets clogged up with dust. Needs a shroud around the fuel filter.

B7500 Kubota
B7500HST
Model Year: 2001

Purchased this tractor used with a FEL, 60"MMM and 60" rear blade. I use it mostly for cutting 5.2 ac of grass but have pulled about 100 fence posts and graded a 14x22 area for a shed. Also moved 8 tons of crusherun for a base for the shed. It has done everything I have tried. I did try and take too big a bite out of the sod when grading the pad and it lost traction, but that is mostly due to the turf tires, a necessary compromise to preserve my lawn. I had to replace the battery 3 months after I bought it, but it still had the original 10 year old factory battery.

Pros: Build quality, fuel economy, versatility.
Cons: Cost of complete fluid and filter change.
