    Popeye the sailor man! 😂

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I wonder if there’s any more of them that we haven’t discovered yet? At any rate, I think it’s great that they went old school and put a ton of grease fittings on it. So much stuff today is just designed to be throw away and everything is “sealed”. I think being able to push new grease in, and...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Hey everyone. I am working on adding a second rear remote and in the process of working on the measurements for hoses to go to the back, I found another grease fitting that I hadn’t seen before and that isn’t in the manual. It’s on the pivot point for the PTO selector lever. Not the PTO clutch...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy doing my own service. It gives me a chance to get to know my tractor and see how everything is doing first hand. You learn a lot about something by getting your hands on it. At least I do. And it gives me the excuse to buy a few tools etc like a 17 mm hex...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Congratulations on the recent retirement! And congratulations on the new tractor and property! I think you’re going to enjoy all three. I believe the first service is at 50 hours. Engine oil change, lube etc. they also want you to change the hydraulic filter and clean the suction strainer at...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I can confirm that the tractor won’t fit under an 8’ door with the ROPS up. Ask me how I can confirm that 😂. So right now I have to fold it down when I put it away. I am in the planning stage for a dedicated shop at my place and it will definitely have 9’ doors. I’ve never measured the height...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

We all make decisions in life. I have a Sister in law who lives in Texas. And she complains about the bugs and oppressive heat regularly 😂
  8. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I don’t blame you. I avoid it if I can but where I’m at it’s inevitable. I also use it because it’s an upgraded oil from the factory oil just in terms of lubrication and additive package. But the fact that the 5100 series are gear drive and not hydrostatic, means the transmission fluid lives a...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I went with Schaeffer’s Simplex Supreme. I use it in my little Yanmar and used it in my last Mahindra. It’s a synthetic blend so it’s easier on the hydraulic pump in cold weather and it makes it easier to shift when it’s cold too.

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

😂 Well that sucks. Hopefully it happened close to the barn. Can you expand on what happened?
  11. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I’m in the process of changing mine now at 100 hours. They want you to change the filter and clean the strainer at 50 hours. And since the fluid has to come out to do that anyway, I figured I might just as well change it as opposed to trying to capture it all in a spotlessly clean drain pan...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Awesome and welcome! Every time I use mine I’m glad I bought it. It’s a real brute but it handles very well. Keep up updated as you get more seat time.

    Mahindra 5145??

Here’s a picture of the zerks underneath the 3 point control cover. There’s three of them. And don’t forget the one under the floor mat for the clutch linkage. I have the 5155 and love it. They didn’t skimp on grease fittings. Hope this is helpful.

Awesome and welcome. Let us know how it goes with your new tractor. Been loving mine.

    Bought a new Farmi winch

Gene, I don’t have the part numbers anymore. But what I can tell you is that the bearings for for the bottom drive sprocket (the one you connect to your PTO) are standard bearings. I got those from my local bearing supply house. Just take down the numbers on them and you can get them off the...
  19. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

So far so good. No complaints here. Everything is working as designed and the thing I like the most is the extra weight and footprint as compared to my 1538. I can just do more work with the 5155 than I could with the 1538 and I’m not pushing it to its limits. Are you looking at the 45 or the 55...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Just a little project I finished up today. I wanted to improve the protection of the factory grill guard. So I got a piece of this 11 gauge steel that had holes plasma cut in it. It was a leftover piece from a shop I know so I got it cheap. Anyway I think it will improve my chances of not...

Awesome!! Now that’s a proper tow vehicle.
  22. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Just be careful. Pulling is rarely the problem. It’s stopping and turning with that much weight behind you. It’s a tail wagging the dog situation. At any rate, I love the tractor. A whole different class of machine compared to the 40 horsepower compact I had.
  23. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

The Mahindra weight data I cited came directly from the Mahindra website for both the tractor and the loader. So when you take those weights and add the known additional weight of the rear ballast you come up 800 lbs LESS than what I know mine weighs by certified scales. So for his original...
  24. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Then you could legally and safely do it with a 12,000 pound rated trailer. But it would likely take you right near the rated load so you could add anything later and still be legit. Idk what state you’re in but here in Pennsylvania they watch for things like overloaded trailers and particularly...
  25. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

The loaded R4 rears add 685 lbs each based on a 75% fill and rim guard’s table. The Mahindra data says that the bare tractor weighs 5,390 lbs. And the tractor and loader weighs 6,690 lbs. if you add the 1,370 lbs that the beet juice adds, then that comes to 8,060 lbs. Thats 880 lbs less than...
  26. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

The original question wasn’t what size trailer was needed for the tractor and loader and loaded tires and implements. It was what size trailer would be needed for the tractor with the loader and loaded rears. And at roughly 8,940 lbs for those items a 12,000 pound rated trailer would be plenty...
  27. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

The published weight is not correct. I had mine weighed on a certified scale. The tractor, loader, and loaded rear R4 tires was 8,940 lbs without me on it. So you’re going to likely need a trailer rated for 12,000 lbs to haul it safely and legally. It’s a heavy machine! Hope this helps.

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Graded my driveway tonight with my box blade and I intentionally ran the RPM’s up to 2000 and 2300. While it does buzz a little at the higher RPM’s it is not what I would call excessive or annoying. I typically have not run it that fast because I don’t feel I need to for the majority of things...
  29. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Welcome!! I have not noticed that but it’s likely because I haven’t revved the engine beyond the E-PTO speed of about 1,750 RPM’s yet. I’ve only done relatively light PTO work so far and everything else I’ve done I’ve just run it between about 1,500-1,800 rpm’s. At those ranges I haven’t...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well I spent last night doing prep work and all morning welding. The shanks are welded on and the teeth are installed. Just got the tools put away and the rain came so I can’t try them yet. But I think they’re really going to help in my rocky soil.
  31. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

A picture of my next project. Adding some teeth to my loader bucket. Very rocky soil at my place. While the tractor has enough power to dig in it, I don’t like pushing that hard. So these should help make it easier. Took this Friday off to weld the shanks on. I’ll post some pics when I’m done.
  32. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Glad you’re liking it so far. I noticed the skidding winch. I have a really old Farmi winch. They’re a great accessory if you pull a lot of wood out. Very handy. Looks like your winch is just a little newer than mine ;)
  33. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

How are you liking the tractor so far? Working out well for you?
  34. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

My dealer reached out to me a few weeks ago to see if he could bring a customer to my place to show him my 5155. So he came down last Friday evening with the customer and I reviewed the machine with him and let him play with it. The dealer said he can’t get enough in to meet demand and for...
  35. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Agreed. Definitely good you got it done. That’s a heavy tractor but it’s also a very powerful loader. So if you want to really get after something with that loader you’re going to need that extra weight to keep things planted. Plus the extra weight adds more traction too so you’ll be able to...
  36. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I negotiated having the tires filled by the dealership prior to delivery. I’ve gone that route on two tractors and I would highly recommend it. That way it’s all done when you get it and believe me I wouldn’t want to really get after anything with the loader without the rears filled. In both...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I’m familiar with Youngstown and some of the little towns around it like Poland and Campbell. I once owned an old Campbell fire department truck, so I’ve been in your neck of the woods before. And yes I also had to clean off the paint from my PTO shaft as well. But overall I’m very pleased. I...
  39. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I went with the 5155 over the 5145 because I was moving up from a 39HP and wanted a bigger jump in HP than the 45 would have given me. Plus turbos don’t scare me as they’ve been used on diesel equipment for decades. I’ll tell you that the tractor overall continues to impress me. I was able to...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

What part of Ohio are you in? I’m in northwestern PA and we’ve finally gotten some much needed rain as well. You’re going to like the capability of your tractor. I know I have. And those things you point out as a negative I agree aren’t perfect but nothing ever is. I’ll be interested to see how...

  42. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I have not calculated but I agree that it seems less than that and less than I expected. I was concerned that my 5 Gallon can that I use wouldn’t “keep up” when I was running the tractor a lot on a weekend. But I’ve had no issue topping off before I start a project and not needing to make...
  43. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well if you can’t fit a socket on it then the only option you have is to use a box end wrench. If you want to apply a known torque value, then measure the length of the wrench and use a pull scale on the other end of the wrench. A known length and a known force applied at that length will result...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I got a triaxle load (about 23 tons) of washed #57 gravel and spent the afternoon yesterday placing it and spreading it up by my place. While working on that project the 50 hour service alert went off. So I’ll start doing that tomorrow beginning with the engine oil and filter. Here’s a few...
  45. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Walt thanks for the pricing on the tooth bar. That seems reasonable all things considered for a quality product. And yea that’s a bummer on the Schaeffer’s. I say that because I’ve used it in my other tractors and have about 3 gallons l ft from when I switched my little Yanmar to it. So I was...
  46. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Looks good Walt! Looks to fit the bucket perfectly. I think I’ll eventually get some sort of tooth bar since I do think it helps in digging especially in rocky soil like I have. But the finance department says that more tractor goodies aren’t in the budget right now unfortunately.
  47. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I think the ultimate solution is a grease butler named something like Mr. Smythe:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. But I’ve had to reduce my personal staff due to inflation and the “transitory inflation”.
  48. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

That looks pretty cool. Do you have that? I have one grease gun set up with an old school coupler and one set up with a locnlube. I like the latter but I agree there are situations where it won’t fit.
  49. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Thanks Walt. That’s pretty cool looking. Send some pics when you get it installed and let us know how it works for you. My 5155 digs well without the tooth bar, but I agree that a tooth bar would reduce how hard you have to push in order to dig. And this should reduce stresses on the loader and...
  50. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Walt, did the Piranha bar come with the hole pattern to match the bucket? I agree that for digging a tooth bar is the way to go. I’d be interested to know if the bar was a direct bolt on installation. And I haven’t had any pins fall off or loosen up yet either.
  51. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

In the owners manual they mentioned that a bolt on tooth bar would be available. So not sure if available yet but you might ask your dealership and he might know. For digging a tooth really helps.
  52. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

They definitely didn’t skimp on zerk fittings. But once you finally figure out where they’re all at, it’s pretty straight forward. So I think in summary everything can be accessed from below the tractor. With the exception of the two under the floor mat for the clutch, and the three under the...
  53. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Ok so I lied. And now I’m considering a political career :sneaky:. But I started looking at the area up near the three point and remote valve controls. And from behind the tractor I could see another grease fitting in there aimed up. So I took the plastic cover that goes over the three point...
  54. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Yes, that one is a good reach up in there. It’s a 90 degree fitting pointed down towards the ground and while it’s a reach I was able to access from underneath the tractor. You probably could reach it easier from up top but as you said you’d have to pull some plastic covers off and then the...
  55. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I’d recommend using the guide in the owners manual and really looking the underside of the tractor very closely for grease fittings. I actually missed a few the first time I greased mine because I had left the manual at home. So the second time I referred to the lube chart and went under and...
  56. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Same here. I dug hard pan and rocks out to make a fire pit area on Saturday. The picture doesn’t do Justice to how much I had to dig but along the back of the semi circle it’s about 3 feet deep. I ended up with probably the equivalent of two triaxle dump loads of tailings. Which I’ll use to make...
  57. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

You should be good to go. I think your problem was probably one bad spider gear that let go and took out the rest of them. My impression of the 5155 when I was looking at buying one has only been further solidified after putting about 45 hrs on mine. It’s a very stoutly built and well thought...
  58. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well there’s your problem :sneaky: Glad they didn’t have any issues getting the parts. Too bad you got a bad set of spider gears. Hopefully all is good now.
  59. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well I drove the tractor to the gravel pit for two reasons. Number one I needed a bucket load of washed stone to freshen up around my front man door. And two I wanted to find out what the tractor actually weighs. So it’s heavier than I calculated based on owners manual and the beet juice I have...
  60. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

My two cents on R1 tires. They’re the ones to have if you plan on doing a lot of heavy ground engaging work like plowing and discing in muddy mucky conditions. I’ve had tractors with R1’s and nothing pulls like them in those types of field conditions. But realistically, most of us aren’t really...
  61. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Congratulations on the new tractor! I am assuming you’re idling at 1,000 RPM? And yes that’s normal. I also have R4 tires on mine. They do well for me and I did plow snow last winter and didn’t have any issues at all. And yes they will also be good in the woods. They’re more puncture resistant...
  62. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Lol. I started my 5155 this past winter after it sat outside overnight at -15. It started fine but made lots of unhappy noises for a while and the loader wouldn’t move for several minutes. That’s why I’m this neck of the woods, I end up just changing everything out to synthetic. The tractor is...
  63. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I’m going to do the service myself. I kind of enjoy doing that stuff. Last weekend I did a full greasing on the tractor and loader. Good to see lots of fittings to grease. One thing I like to do at the first service is to actually change out the transmission/hydraulic fluid. I switch over to a...
  64. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well all the n all that’s great news. Both in that it’s not the load carrying components of the axle and that the parts are readily available. Yes very unusual to have spider gears go bad. If they suffered from brittle failure then they likely were heat treated to too high a hardness. Which is...
  65. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well that sucks. Let us know what they find when they dig into it.
  66. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Any word yet on what failed on your tractor?
  67. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Hopefully DaBear’s issue is simple and easily repaired and explained. That will ease our collective minds. I’ve been using mine a lot more on weekends now that good weather has finally set in. I placed and graded two triaxle loads of 2A limestone in my driveway a couple weeks ago. And this past...
  68. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well let’s see what actually failed. That will tell us a lot. My guess is that a gear or gear carrier housing failed. And that failure was due to a bad casting, a bad forging, or improper heat treatment. If any of these actually prove to be the culprit, it would make me feel better that this is...
  69. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well that totally sucks. Keep us informed about what the dealership finds out and what the solution is. Hopefully it’s some one off failure and not a design weakness. One thing I do know is that they’ve been using that front axle on 4WD models in India for several years so it’s not new, only new...
  70. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well that sucks. What were you doing when it broke? What were the symptoms?
  71. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Lol. Yeah the chicks dig it. Grapples are awesome tools. Glad you’re using the tractor. The more hours I put on mine the more I like it. Over the past two weekends I placed and graded about 46 tons of limestone gravel in my driveway. Tractor and loader working good.
  72. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

That’s exactly right. Must have gotten to the final assembly part and realized that they had an alignment issue where that shaft didn’t line up with the hole in the body panel. So they came up with this. It works but an actual U-Joint would have been better. I’m not going to get too worked up...
  73. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

No issues with mine. The only real difference between the 5145 and 5155 is the added turbo on the 55. So likely they have to fine tune that linkage adjustment when they set it up on the production line. Remember that this is a new model and with anything new it’s not unusual to find little...
  74. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Gr Great work! I had a feeling that something with that shuttle linkage wasn’t adjusted quite right. Glad you found it and seem to have corrected the issue. I’d still mention it to your dealer just to have it on record if something would crop up later. This way you could point back to the root...
  75. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Walt, no you aren’t overreacting. It should not do that regardless of how hard you’re pulling. Definitely get in touch with your dealer and have them take care of it. Sounds like the linkage is not adjusted properly. Definitely a warranty repair for your dealer to handle. It’s possible they...
  76. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Glad you’re liking it so far. Just be careful running it without loaded rears or ballast hanging off the back. I have loaded rears and the loader is strong enough to still pick the whole back end up (ask me how I know). So this past weekend I stuck my heavy 6’ box blade on while I was picking up...
  77. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

That’s awesome Walt! Enjoy the new tractor. So far I only have positive things to say about my 5155. Spent several hours on mine last Saturday and today cleaning up a scrap metal pile and the remains of a huge burn pile. You’ll really appreciate that 55 horsepower turbo. I’ve been running mine...
  78. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Yeah we had our first spring like day this past Saturday and I took full advantage of it. Also as a note I don’t live at our rural property. It’s a weekend getaway so tractor time for me is almost always relegated to Saturday and sometimes Sunday :(
  79. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Gotcha. So far I’m loving my 5155. I spent several hours on Saturday clearing deadfall and cleaning up a burn pile. Very pleased with the size, power, weight, and stability. My property is hilly and I feel much more stable than I did on my 1538. Also am really impressed with the smoothness on...
  80. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Maybe I missed it but why were you tearing into your dash? Glad you didn’t bend your loader.
  81. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Nothing to worry about at all. If you plan to keep the tractor outside I would just smear some grease on your PTO shaft to keep it from rusting. I don’t think anyone actually uses those covers once they take them off for the first time. How do you like the new tractor so far? Any observations...
  82. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Those are the bolts that hold on the plastic PTO shaft cover that should have been on the tractor when you got it from the dealership. There are Nylock type nuts on there and you loosen them a little and give the cover a quarter turn and it comes off. Then those nuts stay there if you ever...
  83. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

You’re correct. Also same engine as used in the 1538/1640 and 2538/2638. Obviously it has different tuning and for the 5155 they added a small turbo.
  84. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Walt, I use Schaeffer’s Simplex Supreme. It’s a synthetic blend and I’ll tell you that the tractor hydraulic system is much happier with it during winter time. My local NAPA store got it for me in 5 gallon pails at a good price. Maybe you can look at that option where you’re at? I ran it in my...
  85. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Yeah drain it into a clean receptacle and put it back in when your done. Or just change in at 50 hours and skip changing the fluid at the first scheduled fluid change. I did the latter on my last tractor at 50 hours. Most of the break in “crap” is likely going to be in that strainer and the...
  86. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Here’s the chart out of the owners manual. Looks like just a hair over 1 mph in low range first gear. Hope this helps.
  87. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I second the comments on the manuals being well done and the quietness of the engine. I was not expecting much with the manual based on my last tractor. Great tractor but lame manual. Idk if true but I actually mentioned the manual on the 5155 to my dealer in an after purchase visit and he said...
  88. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

No problem. Glad to help. And I agree that a totally independent PTO is the way to go. Whether it’s an electric over hydraulic type actuated by a switch, or a hand clutch lever. I haven’t even hooked anything to my PTO yet. Just spooled it up to verify function. Enjoy the tractor.
  89. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

That’s awesome! We’re all doing our part to stimulate the economy. Good luck with your new tractor. Have fun and stay safe. She’s a powerful thing and that’s good. But it can also get you in trouble. So be careful. Let us know how you like it when you get some seat time.
  90. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

To use the PTO you first push the clutch in and select 540 or 540E with the selector on your left towards the rear. Then when you want to spool it up you use the big hand lever also on the left. This is your PTO clutch. Push it all the way forward and engage the lever into the notch. Then you...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Well it’s been baptized in mud.
  92. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Great to see folks reporting in with positive feedback. And yes on the smooth shifting. I’m getting ready to head to my property this morning and have a full day of tractor seat time planned.
  93. Andy1969

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Yeah I know 12 hours isn’t much. But unfortunately we’ve gone from heavy snow directly to what we call mud season up here :( As a side note, Any bolts on loaders or wheels would be on the dealer if they happened right away as they are supposed to check all that during their prep. If they happen...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

John, so far all is good. I only have 12 hours on it so far because we’ve still been in winter up here unfortunately. But about half the hours are clearing heavy snow and the other half was pushing up a large brush pile for burning this past weekend. Really nothing but positive things so far...

16 acres and a hobby farm what tractor?

Just my two cents but whatever the OP does, go bigger than you think you’ll need. And when I say bigger, I’m talking more about tractor weight than horsepower. It doesn’t sound like you need tons of PTO horsepower since you won’t be making your own hay. But based on your description you will...

    55HP Tractor

I agree that for lots loader work there’s nothing like a hydrostatic. But for me I’m willing to give up some of the speed the hydrostatic gives you for those tasks for the pulling power and relative simplicity of a gear drive shuttle. Also to be honest I really can’t stand listening to a...

    55HP Tractor

Yes it’s a beefy tractor. My understanding is that it’s a clean sheet design. So it’s not really a derivative of the 5500 series. The 5500 series went away according to my dealer even though Mahindra still has them listed on their site. The 5100 series is right between the 4500 series and the...

    55HP Tractor

I like many of Messicks videos. But I also take them with a grain of salt just as I do any video or other form of presentation when the person doing that presentation is financially tied to it. So what I’m saying here is that Messicks is a Kubota and a New Holland dealer. So while both of those...

    55HP Tractor

I just bought a Mahindra 5155. New 55 horsepower Utility model. 12 by 12 shuttle. Very heavily built tractor with lots of lift up front and out back. Maybe something to consider depending on what you’re wanting to do with your tractor.

Unfortunately I think you’re right. Well have fun with it and be safe. Hopefully it does everything you need and serves you well. Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

It’s funny you mentioned how quiet it is. Because I noticed that too on mine. Quieter than my 1538 was and they both have the same engine (not counting the turbo on the 5155). So it must have something to do with the injection timing/fuel mapping. I’m also waiting for some warmer drier weather...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Good explanation Walt. Yes the 4500 series is a sort of a throwback tractor with regards to transmission and dual stage clutch arrangement. Hi Walt, the tractor is a big upgrade from my 1538. Nice! Where are you located? It’s been in the single digits up here so I only have a half hour on mine just driving around the field to get the feel of it. Really like it though. A big upgrade in size and weight from my 1538. Anxious to do some work with it.

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

It has a halfway position on the ROPS that you can lock it into. I had to fold it all the way down because I can’t close my garage door with it sticking out the back in the Halfway position and the tractor won’t quite clear my 8 foot doors with the ROPS all the way up. So now I’ll either have to...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Exactly. The 1538 was great and flawless. But I have very hilly property and a very long (900 feet) gravel driveway that changes grade over 100 feet to maintain. So I never really needed more power but I did have times when I needed more pulling power and more stability to reduce my pucker...

I’m definitely going with the 5155 for the reasons you indicated above. The only reason I referenced the 5145 was because a dealer had one on the lot for me to see and judge the physical build. I really liked the 5145 from a build standpoint and it looks very heavy duty. The extra weight and...

    Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

I currently have a Mahindra 1538 Shuttle. It’s been flawless since new and has done everything reasonable that I’ve asked of it. I bought a 2210DB last spring. Drove 6 hours to get it and it was known at the time that the head gasket was leaking compression into the water jacket. Installed a tee and an oil pressure gauge on the 1538. This way I kept the factory warning light but can now actually tell what the pressure is. What did you do to or on your Mahindra today?

Cut down some scrub trees and used the grapple to clean up the brush. Then mowed the area. No before picture but this area was just a grown up mess. Now I can keep it mowed and let the spruce trees that I planted as saplings a few years ago take advantage of the light they羆*e getting now.

    Mahindra 1538 hydraulics question

RNeumann I attached a photo of the ports under the seat. There's 3 of them. I assume one of these is what you connected your drain to tank into. Is that correct and if so which one? Thanks.

    Mahindra 1538 hydraulics question

So I dug into things on the tractor today and I attached a few photos. I believe I've positively identified a port that is a drain to tank. It's on the hydraulic valve block for the loader valve. It's got a metric o ring plug in it which I removed and confirmed it's open to the hard line that...
