Ford 1210 put a hole in rear axle housing. Pics. Fix ideas?

well Gents, i was not sure about aluminum in the casting. Ya'll know that I have Ford1700 and always thought my rear housing is cast steel/Iron. I did walk to the barn and put a magnet to my rear axle. It sure sticks real good. Now, I wondered what should 1210 any different.

Ford 1210 put a hole in rear axle housing. Pics. Fix ideas?

Aha, I thought t was Cast Steel, did you do the magnet test? it does not appear to be structural which is good. Atleast you have plan B , but I think you will be fine with welding one plate or just externally patching the hole.

Ford 1210 put a hole in rear axle housing. Pics. Fix ideas?

Welding is good choice but yet I will cover the hole like I said in the earlier post to seal the hole and then get a thick peice of rectangular ductile iron plate and cover the whole area and passed 1" in all directions and weld it up. My choice is MIG but might need to heat the area and clean...

Ford 1210 put a hole in rear axle housing. Pics. Fix ideas?

Sorry to see this. Glad tha ypu dpn't have the vertical crack. it for use has some effect on structural integrity of the housing but probably not a huge one as it is hole in the middle where the casting in thinnest. If it were my rig, I would look for used replacement axle that would be easy or...

    TC35 fuel filter problem SOLVED!

Lift pumps are used when the gravity supply to the inlet of injector pump is not achieved. Do you have a suction pick up tube in your tank? of this was commercially done on fuel tank system (I.e , engine generator and such ) then there would be a suction check valve at the pick up line to avoid...

    Ford 1520 pto shaft

Not clear with your question, "bored" to me means a hole drilled or machined to a piece of metal. The PTO shaft has splined. No hole is bored at the end or across. it is machined that an spring loaded button keeps the implement pto shaft from sliding out. I think simplest way to extend would be...

Oil & Fuel Ford 1920 fuel filter mysterious spring

Yes, I was saying if voltage is cut off for host of different reasons then it shuts off the solenid valve due to spring action. The open in theh circuit can happen when the solenoid gets hot also. Again, my link was a suggestion so you would know what the solenoid looks like. Banging on it is...

Oil & Fuel Ford 1920 fuel filter mysterious spring

I think your 1920 has engine shut off solenoid. Does the engine shuts off right away when you turn the ignition key to off position? that solenoid is normally closed by action of spring internally. 12 volts with the key in on position activates the solenoid for the fuel to be pumped from...

Inlet fitting can never be on top of a tank unless it has a submersible type pump. That happens in a car fuel tank.Fuel pump is high pressure and sits in the tank and pumps all the way to the injectors. On old carburated type engine the the fuel pump ran off of crankshaft or internal engine...

Those line are unused fuel from the fuel injector. it is not gravity and has a slight positive fresh back to the tank. Solenoid valves on tractor and automotive usually are 12 volts and can easily be activated by a small 12 volt battery or borrwing12 volts somewhere from the tractor. Solenoids are normally open and close. If they operate then they will click and you hear a plunger move against a small spring...

Yes , Of course. That is what I meant.I have to re-check. There is nothing you can add to the tank to solve all the built up to nothing. It is pretty strange. I don't think you have issue with filter per se. Then open the valve to see if you get a good and steady fuel...

Ok. On the inlet to the filter you do have a shut off valve. Once you shut it off you have a very lil diesel in the line. Remember you will have to bleed the air out any way. I the remote chance you do not have the shut off valve then you can pinch it with a lil vise grip. I out a cardboard...

Can you snap a photo to show the problems you have with fitment? is it possible to remove the fuel hoses from top fixture of sediment bowl? if so , may be you can put it together away from tractor and mount it on as one assembly along with hooking up the fuel lines.

Oil & Fuel Ford 1920 fuel filter mysterious spring

I think the reason is to have a filter that does not easily plug up and have a long life. The filter bowl is also called "sediment bowl". It lets sand or other heavier particle tend to swirl around and settle to the bottom so the higher portion of the verticallyplaced filter is less prone to...

What does "oil - low pressure" light mean when it just barely starts coming on?

Actually there is a seal/diaphram in the sender unit that is exposed to oil and oil pressure. if there is a tear in the rubber could allow some oil and crap inside the sender unit. That's what happened with mine. Mine did not flicker but randomly would stay open or closed.

What does "oil - low pressure" light mean when it just barely starts coming on?

Here ya go. Oil pressure sender unit is on the right side next to the oil dip stick. a close up. Temp sending unit is on the left side on top left corner below the oil filler cap. That's just for your future reference.

What does "oil - low pressure" light mean when it just barely starts coming on?

Yup, everything will be costly to figure out for sure. $27 might be wasted but to me that's a cheap gamble. Again, reading a pressure with external analog gauge is doable and sender can be bench tested. internal engine issue leading to low pressure requires a tear down and that is doable and...

Howdy JP, The answer is yes but the light serves two distinct purposes. 1- it is a switch that is always on (making contacts against an internal spring) so when you put the key and turn on the ignition (not start position) then it verifies the electrical circuit is intact. That is a very...

If you are talking the top differential case where the seat is then on this model you do not need to do that for inspection of the seal of lift piston or rock shaft. They can be done from the front taking off the lift cylinder head. Tapered surface (conical in my case) mates with the seat to...

There is a check ball and spring(check valve, on way flow) in the lift piston head. That would trap oil back in the lift cylinder. The only way 3 point arms drops is either check valve is not holding, lift piston seal is leaking or installed incorrectly or if lift spool valve is leaking...

Ok. Sounds good. When I talked about discharge pipe , by no means I was talking about a leak at all. That discharge pipe goes to a pressure regulator. Pumps makes pressure there against a spring. Trying to replace Ford E1NN6714BB OIL FILTER - on my 1983 Ford 1700

Wowsers, glad you brought this stuff up. I keep saying "Hydro" short for "Hydraulic lines" & such. I don't know if it has a hydro static transmission. How can I tell. (Never been much of a tranny guy). If you have gear shifters then you ain't got hydro transmission. My rigg is a geared but...

Trying to replace Ford E1NN6714BB OIL FILTER - on my 1983 Ford 1700

Good. Give us some specs on your rig. You use the term "Hydro", do yo mean hydro static transmission? My 1700 has oil filled drum air filter. My 1700 is 1979 and you have a newer one but are you sure you have paper media air filter? I would make sure my loader bucket is all the way back...

Trying to replace Ford E1NN6714BB OIL FILTER - on my 1983 Ford 1700

That's so funny jay, many years ago I helped out a guy about 2 hrs from KC and he was so appreciative. I told him over the weekend I am driving my son to college about 1 hr from his place. He sent me message that, he'll have a cold 6-pack ready for me if I stop by. Told him that I don't drink...

Trying to replace Ford E1NN6714BB OIL FILTER - on my 1983 Ford 1700

Here Ya go Jay, Wix 5152 is right filter for 1700. It will set you back just under $8 and it is a really good quality. Fram PH2825 is also compatible, for around $6 from Wally World. Not as good a quality like Wix but ain't so bad in a pinch if you change oil regularly. I do mine every 50 hrs...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

he block between the old relief valve and the cover is configured so the oil can enter the 3-point control valve from one of it's ports. So oil from pump goes to the built-in relief valve on the loader valve. The oil leaves the loader valve through the new relief valve and goes to the power...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

I like it on principal (y). How are you going to mount and plumb it? I wondered if you can remove the guts out of your relief device, plug the relief to the tank on the relief valve and then plumb the relief of this device to return to diffy using the square top plug on the diffy cover as...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

Ok. Looks good. One thing is if the oil leaks by at the relif, and if the rate of leakage is less that the pump GPM, then some flow would be available for 3-point. At what pressure? it would be just a guess unless you measure it. It is a great idea to be situationally aware of what's going on...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

I have set those movable resting places. Everything is fine with the 3-point if the lever is not put into the upper notch. Good, I lowered the upper notch just a tad , or enough when I put the lever there the relief would not chatter. It clearly identifies limit without me worrying about it...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

Yup . Agreed. You must have the main relief to work to protect all. Now, you do have max 3-point height lever stop (adjustable). I have adjusted that notch bracket thing just short of highest point. You can move the max rest up and down. Have you messed with that? You can adjust the high and...

That's good. Pump was a major headache. No , I'm good. I like challenges like this. I wonder if a salvage relief valve can be sourced. I'll check a bit. So far so good. keep us up to date. I found it. it was sold for $85. They are very proud of their parts, kind of pricey. They have whole bunch...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood. The seat does have a conical hole for the poppet to fit into. Ok Good. That makes sense. I think my loader connection must block that plug in the photos above. Are you looking at the clutch through that hole? Is there a release bearing grease zerk? I was...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

Maybe the wallowed-out hole would allow oil to go around the seat or push it and the seat back into the spring with excessive pressure. I don't think the wallowed-out hole ever contacts the poppet. That seat has a tapered hole the fits the poppet--both of which are still in good condition. That...

Ford 1700 3 pt lift problem

I was able to cut both the power steering and the loader out of the system, and the pressure did not move off of zero and the 3-point did not move. Ok. we hold the assumption that pump is pumping and making pressure. The only route that oil has is to the relief device. Two things can happen...

https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/for-businesses/heavy-duty-lubricants/products/mobil-delvac-1300-super-15w-40/ I checked the oil that you used. This afternoon, when started it seemed to work fine--maybe a little slow and jerky. But then it practially stopped working. I wanted to check the pressure and adjust the relief valve. Yup, in my line of work I always advise our techs to watch for release of stored energy, potential or kinetic and like you said with kidos around sticking their lil noses where it does not belong. When you resolve the pump, take the tractor outside and with the hose fitting lose see if you can...
