    What's your average mpg?

Across the “fleet” of vehicles I have I get about 19 MPG. That is 5.2l, 5.7l, 5.9l, 6.4l and 6.7l engines. The 5.2l is the lowest :p but in 1969 fuel wasn’t expensive. I’ve tried smaller engines and they just are running too hard at my altitude.

    Backup for wood boiler

This is excellent advice. If you truly intend to run your backup at times you need to really design your systems to separate the heat sources. Once off the water from the OWB is not heated it will use all the backups BTUs to keep that water lukewarm. My OWB was installed as normal, how they...

I ran for about 45 minutes of cutting and didn’t hear anything when I opened the cap. The pump is def doing something. So I am gonna drain the tank and flush it with some gas and then add a 1/2 tank of lube and run it and take it somewhere quiet to open it up.

With any tool, it needs to do the job that it is intended to do at least comparable to my current tool. At this point there is not a battery powered anything that does that for me. But unlike some the intended purpose is the most important trait. In this case, cutting wood. And you are a...

    Thinkin about..

I would be ok if they made no noise at all, main thing for me is that they cut;)… And first time I used the ms261C after using the 291 for 10 years, I wondered why I waited so long. It “cut“ down my firewood time by almost half for my 10-12 cords. See what I did there…

If you are used to a ms271 farm boss the ms261C will be a huge upgrade. I have a ms291 farm boss and got a 261C and was amazed at the difference. The bars and chains are inter-changeable for me so no brainer. Huge difference.

Ideas for fastening strobe light to tractor roof

I would take some conduit and mount the light on top and then fasten it with a u-bolt to something like the grab bar or something. You then can make it whatever height you need. And take it off. Could just put alligator clips on for leads to make it very simple...

    WeedWhacker/Brush Cutter

I owned one of these and it was up to the task of anything I was. Will cut anything the blade diameter reaches, so I would say easy 8” diameter. Including your own legs and your dog and anyone standing too close. After I got everything done I traded it in on a chainsaw at the Stihl dealer...

Truck & Trailer ideas to tow 14,000 and be under 26,000 pounds

Thanks for the post. To be clear, No one is saying anything about drinking and driving. We are saying getting a ticket for weight “rating” is like getting a DUI for buying alcohol but not drinking it, or having a Porsche driving it 55 and getting a ticket for speeding since it has a limit of...

    Generators, sizes and fuel options?

Most diesel run 15w-40 stock and yes there is a big benefit in switching a diesel to 5W-40. It is all I use in every vehicle and tractors except my jeep. We get really cold here and big difference, and it doesn’t stink like the 15w-40 rotella. Again oil is up to you and you wallet And your...
