    Measuring a plow's size?

The measurement is the width of the furrow you are turning. Simple on a 2 bottom plow, just measure the frame. Single bottom is a little more difficult. Measurement 12,14,16,18 has nothing to do with the length of anything. Many old Allis plows have extra holes in the frame so you can...

My loader works off one set of remotes. So, when using the loader, I have to lock the remote lever back and, in that position, the 3-point hitch and the other remote doesn't work. I have been living with it but wish I could run the loader and the 3-point at the same time. This was discussed...

    M4030su

David, Good luck getting much information. I have a 7030 and there is something wrong with the charging system....I think. Not sure if I have a short that is draining the battery or if the alternator/regulator is faulty. Tractor is new to me and I don't know if somebody unhooked some of the...

    Kubota 7030 su Electrical Problem

I bought this used tractor and after using 10 gallons of fuel the battery is dead. The Owners Manual I have says nothing about the Alternator and little about the wiring. The only "Easy Checker" light that works is the Glo Plug light. I guess this should have alerted me to possible electrical...

Rotary Cutter / Bush Hog Considerations for Compact Tractors

Been clearing property lines and they are overgrown with multiflower rose and common buckthorn. I find on the big stuff, over 1.5 inch, it cuts easier if I raise the mower and back onto it and lower the mower.

Rotary Cutter Woods or Landpride rotary brush cutter

The instructions on our 8ft Land Pride says the front should be 1 -2 inches lower than back, so you don't cut the material twice. We run everything, except the finish mower, that way.

Front end blade for a tractor?

Westendorf DB is a FEL mounted dozer blade, around $1200 for 84 inch. I would think you would have to be careful on a big tractor. Could bend/break things. They also make a snow pusher blade that is more money. The snow blades that angle, stick out in front too far.

Rotary Cutter Woods or Landpride rotary brush cutter

You have to read the specs. They all build several different models, you can buy a $1500 LP or a $3500 LP. Is the difference in construction worth it???? who knows! We have a Tractor Supply 72 inch that has been abused for 30 years and still works. And a Land Pride twin screw 8 foot HD that...

    Straight blade for FEL

Westendorf makes a fixed blade, but I fear the price may be prohibitive. Are the snow pushers rugged enough to move/grade dirt?
  113. B

    Straight blade for FEL

I am going to use it to push and pile snow and I may use it to move and grade dirt. Doesn't need to angle for my application.

    Straight blade for FEL

That's what I had in mind but I need >80 inch and for a 70 hp utility tractor. Can you buy just a blade and weld the hooks and eye on it?
  115. B

    Straight blade for FEL

Does anybody make a plain straight blade for the Quicke Euro-Global quick hitch? I know they make snow plows that hyd angle, but I am looking for a plain straight blade. A BACK BLADE FOR A FRONT LOADER.

    Kubota 7030 Clutch

I am about to buy a 7030 and the only fear I have is the clutch. How much can I expect to pay to have the clutch replaced? It has a FEL and here is no shuttle, so I am presuming it has been shifted alot in 4000 hours.

    Kubota 7030 vs M9000

Other than 20hp what are the major differences? They seem to be about the same size and the tires could be the same size too. thanks, Bill

    Kubota M7030 vs Mahindra 5570

    What's a "lane shark"?

    Kubota M7030 / FEL

This tractor has <4000 hrs and I have not looked at it yet. I believe it has a 16 speed trans/ 4 reverse and no shuttle, it is beast to load with? Looking for somebody with experience with this tractor. What are the weak spots?

    Kubota M7030 vs Mahindra 5570

Kubota is a M7030, 70HP. The Mahindra is 1/3 more money. Both have FEL's and the Mahindra has a Hyd. outlet in the front. Hyd output is 11 gpm, is that enough to run a skid steer brush cutter?
  121. B

    Kubota M7030 vs Mahindra 5570

Haven't looked at either tractor yet. Kubota is older and has <4000 hrs, the Mahindra has <1000 hrs and is more money. Both have loaders. Tractor will be used about 300 hrs per year for mowing and light tillage. (3 bottom 14 inch plows) I like the 16 speed trans, but not sure it has a...

    LS XU

Has anybody even seen a XU model? Let alone bought or tried one out? They call it a Utility, but I fear it is nothing but a compact with a big engine, not a real farm tractor.
  123. B

    XU or MT5

Judging from the replies (1), I don't believe there are many of these sized tractors out there. Seems the bulk of the LS tractors are 25-30 hp.
  124. B

    XU or MT5

Since I can't fine a decent used 65-75hp 4wd, I am testing the waters. Tell me why a MT5 73hp is better than a XU 68hp? I prefer an open station, but not impressed with the 16.9x24 rears on the XU 68 hp tractor. They call the XU a "Utility" tractor, but is it really a "compact"? From the...

    7520 Brakes

So, I finelly looked at this 7520 and am pleased with it except for the brakes. Seems somebody set the hand brake, which just locks the foot pedals, and drove it. There are brakes to both rears but the pedal is soft and low. Is there a way to adjust the brake pedal travel and what are the...

    LS Tractor Sizes

The XU is the biggest Open Station LS Tractor? And it only has 24 inch tires? Is that correct?

Did LS Buy Out Montana and LandTrac

I have a Long LandTrac 4700, has a Mitsubishi 4cyl diesel and a Mitsubishi tranmission. I understand they were about the same as the Montana and now the LS. Any way to check the history of LS? I have been happy with the tractor but it is getting hard to get parts, just wonder if any will...

    Mahindra 7520/Loader

Tell me a little about the Mahindra 7520/Loader. Will it have a power shuttle or do you have to use the clutch? 12 speeds, so is it a 4 speed trans and 3 speed transfer case? Durable? Does 1200 hours mean worn out or just broken in? Is there any pollution control on the Mahindra 7520? How...

Tell me about your 6530 4WD

Back in the market for a new tractor. Need 55-70 HP, open station, loader and a power shuttle would be nice. I have looked at the 6530 and it seems like a good utility tractor. Is there something better out there? I do not want a "compact", must be a utility and have planetary front...
