I did a little one-arm diagnosis today and found out a seal/bearing at the rear of the gearbox housing appears to be faulty and the shaft was a little wobbly in the hole. All the gears inside appear ok. Hopefully just replacing the rear seal/bearing assembly will take care of it.

Well I drug the old carryall home today, bought it for $50. I stripped off the old rotten wooden deck, now to get out the grinder and find a welder to make it quick hitch ready. I’ll top it off with new fresh cut oak 2x12’s off my band I’ll and some LS safety blue paint and I should be good to go!

Do you know offhand if it will fit in a quick hitch?

Both, compared to my old JD which had painfully slow hydraulics the XJ is quick and jerky. It’s a learning process, also if not needing the extra RPMs, I’ll lower them a bit and it’s easier to get the hang of it.
