I carried a baby copperhead around inside lowes for about a hour in a basket that doesn't leave the store. The handle pinched it's head as it was trying to get out when I picked it up. Just happen to notice it when I was checking out. Looked like a piece of rope tangled inside basket. When I...
Here's one that kinda Does Suck. The big heavy duty C clamp.
Ps.. I'm never been big on extended warranties , but if you get any electric drills there, might not be a bad idea. Completely fried s big hammer drill in one day. In there defense it was worked Really Hard, and get the job done...
So far I've only seen one that tried to catch a deer. I'm not sure how it ended over the hill, but the deer saw him as he started the charge about 100 yards away. Recently my dog caught one I believe trying to eat his food. He not only killed the coyote , but also ate it. Not much left but the...
Looking at getting some Amsteel Blue, Yellow, etc rope to replace some chains. Mainly used for towing, pulling, lifting etc. is there a difference in the colors or same quality? Also wondering if 5/16" would be large enough w/12,000 lb strength ? Or should I look at larger.?
Really glad it wasn't worse and NOONE hurt. Things happen fast. I've learned anytime I'm using fel ROPS up, belt on. Luckily it was just a lesson learned this time.it could have been much worse in many ways. Glad you're all ok. I was ran over while working in a tractor last October. (Hip...
I would set them 48" and tamp dense grade gravel around them. Not concrete... It will rot at ground level. My stall posts extend up to the loft beams. I'll try to find s pic of how I did them. Not real good pic Used split stall doors with latches and 3/4" conduit for bars.
This is a tractor I'd like to sell for $4500. Doesn't have a loader, but is a 2004, 4WD, 12 spd, 3 cyl Deisel with only. 226 hrs. Loaders can still be found for it
I do try to keep it lower than in the pic when using. The frame of the scoop is high but the bucket is low where 95% of the weight is. I keep it just high enough to keep from digging in while backing up. I would estimate bottom of scoop is about 3" off ground.
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. I would jack hammer it out before I'd buy another scoop, plus this is a pretty good one. All four cement trucks came at once, so I had to do a quickly form. The side forms did come out, but still had to chisel around the pivot bolts, and behind them...
Trying a new ballast set up. It will still utilize the dirt scoop, but using concrete. I oiled everything up real good to keep from sticking to scoop. Also inserted som rebar to help secure and pulling out. If concrete is out, should be able to scoop it back up. Put a cpl pieces of wood form...
I've accumulated a few hipoints over the years. I've never had one FTF or FTE.
pretty accurate too. The carbines are fun to shoot. Lifetime guarantee & made in Ohio.
I'M needing to pull a new log splitter 200 miles on the highway. Average speed around 70mph. The splitter states 45 mph max. Is this kind of like the uhaul trailers you see going 70-80 that have the 45 mph sticker on back? Of course there's no lights, but can easily see truck lights. I'd add a...
All is well. Gave it a tap with 3lb sledge and fits like a glove. It's also seated very well using a 2x4 & hammer. Looking forward to trying it out, but having some much needed rain right now.
I wasn't going to be using for any of those jobs. Just digging out in hard clay and sandstone.
I'm looking at it and one side of the bracket looks bent? Not sure the bolt would pull it back in or be long enough.
Here's the bent side
Thanks N2. I'm anxiously awaiting the ups truck. I'll be looking for something to dig or clear right away to test. Hoping I can widen the hay field Along the edges and other brush the bush hog can't get. Always needing to dig something too
Got the rest of 10" gravel spread & leveled for basement floor. Then took fel & ballast off to drive over auto connect deck. Mowed 3 ac
Love the JD auto connect deck. On & off is a breeze. Not sure how heavy the 60"7 iron is, but it's easily stood up on end also
to service.
I don't think that at all. I do like constructive criticism and tips that I and others might learn from though.
I felt I was wise to have ROPS fully up and seatbelt on. Anytime the loaders on there up and on. I also have no problem leaving a unstable machine quickly. I just don't know how...
It must have ran on the motor oil. I never knew it could or would do that. Used a bigger tractor to turn back over, but wouldn't start for 30 min. The starter would start to turn a little and stop? Like vapor locked or something. When it finally started lots of blue smoke for a few min. After...
I don't think I had quite enough ballast either. It had been fine up till then though. Also a good point about a rollover on "flat" ground. You never know when you might hit s soft spot, rut, rock, groundhog hole etc. I handy been using ROPS & belt when mowing but may start. As to relying on a...
Looks are deceiving and to step off, easier said than done! It had a bucket full of gravel and lots of humps & ruts. I tried to correct it when felt it lifting, but was quickly beyond point of no return. If this had been in water I'd have needed a seatbelt cutter.
Just a reminder they are not there just to annoy us. They do save injuries and Lives!!
While moving gravel with a little JD1025 today I got to try them out :(
Bucket was low, Ballast was present and being careful. Rear wheel got in a very small rut and was all she wrote. Hold on tight and tuck...
Looks it was a comfy home at one time Houser52. I bushhoged a clearing above the pasture. And some of the pasture on a ford 841 for the horses. The neighbor bush hogs the rest on his Big tractor & bush hog. My little 801 & 5' bush hog wouldn't make it on some of the hills. Wouldn't even...
Yes. I was thinking that the whole time digging it out. Id like to have one as long as It could put on and take off easily. It wouldn't be needed it most of the time.
Could bucket hooks be mounted in the same hole with tooth bar ? Don't like the idea of drilling a new bucket but do need the bar...
Good choice Rider. I bright one home last month, but without the BH. The floating 60" auto connect deck doesn't mow quite as good as a 54". A deck gauge leveling per the book helped a lot. I have a lot of slopes with different angles though. I think you'll love the new "lawnmower" as my wife...
A very good deed above & beyond. There's a lot that get dumped out in our area and our farm seems to be a magnet for strays. Of course we end up taking care of them. I guess they know a sucker when they see one ;)

In a JD 1015 scut is there any harm in strapping the lift arms up while mowing with mowing deck and lift arms in the down position?
The reason is when mowing with deck and arms down, there's a few short steep hills. When I back up the lift arms dig into the ground. If I lift the arms up with...
Never really welded before but want to make general repairs to my stuff. Looked at a small wire feed welder at flea mkt. $75. I'm not sure that'll do it for me though. Not looking to sink a bunch of $ into it, but wanting to understand the difference in welder a. Wire feed - Stick- Mig- magma...
Just got a 100 gal tank for deisel from tsc. When I got home with it and removed cap it almost blew out of my hand. The H100 hand pump I'll be using says use with vented tank. The vented caps seem pricey and wanted to know if I could just drill a small hole in existing cap? The tank will be...
New Jd 1025 that says Ultra Low Sulfur ONLY! Is this more for emissions or will the high sulfur dyed deisel work well with NO problems? I don't want to damage a new tractor, but don't want to spend more than I have too either.
While doing ground work it developed some hydraulic fluid leaks. The hotter it got the more it leaked. . Two of the leaks were two missing plugs on top of rear axles. I plugged them with bolts. I assume these were to bleed air out??
My main problem is that it's leaking out the bottom of...
Just delivered new yesterday. With deck set high it was still mowing too low. Dealer said they leveled deck.
I shortened the lift arm turnbuckles 7 full turns each. It did raise it higher and will still go into the lock position easily. I noticed that the bolt is coming through one of the...
Looking at buying first scut w/ 60 " 7 iron deck and H120 loader. I can see the differences with the suspension seat, lights, cruise, tilt wheel, 12vdc plug, floor mat and position control 3 pt hitch. and 2-3 hp.
Other than the position control 3 pt vs the basic 3 pt, and 2-3 hp, the rest seems...
While using the 2425 today moving dirt I had several leaks develop. I found a hose fitting that needed tightened near under seat, bottom of steering looks like bolts need tightened and two on top of rear axles.
I've got the hose leak stopped, still looking for wrench size to fit steering bolts...

I adjusted the clutch last fall because I couldn't get pro to engage from the neutral position. It would make a grinding noise and not engage. After adjusting clutch it now engages fine , but when speed selector is in neutral the pro shaft keeps spinning. Is this a clutch fine tune related...
I've let tractor set for close to 3 months. I started the other day and noticed the 3 or hitch not raising? It was working good before. I haven't vhecked fluid yet, but is there something else in missing?
I did adjust the main clutch after having trouble getting PTO to engage if that has...
I have a 2004 farm Pro 2425 that's not wanting to crank. What's the best way to check soleniod and that it's getting the electrical supply it needs? It had acted up before but not sure if connection problem, key switch or soleniod itself?
Also what it the small push button switch that the...
This was touched on in another topic, but thought I needed its own. I beg of everyone not to mess with a starter on tractor with battery hooked up. I accidentally shorted a starter in tractor while in gear four days ago. After being airlifted to a trama 1 hospital and total hip replacement, I'm...
Hi guys, hope there's a simple solution to my problem.Just got the tractor and the pto works, but can not engage with engine running. It just grinds the gears. I sure don't want to damage anything. Is there some kind of throw out bearing not working or is this how they are? I've tried different...
No the tractor was only 25 hp and probly running wide open. I was lucky to be able to order the back half of the shaft from HOWSE mfg. I got two quotes on parts to repair at other shops & both were $200
I have a older 3pt. seeder/ spreader that has a short square tube drive shaft. I have a tractor it will barely work on but I'm wanting to use on another tractor. The shaft is about 8-10" too short to go on PTO spline. Wondering if there's a simple solution to extend the length of shaft or PTO ?
I've noticed the only gauges that are lighted is the tach/ hour meter & the horn switch. It's no biggy, but are they supposed to be lighted? Or is this how they came. The other gauges have a hole for a light, but looks to be covered.i don't see any loose sockets to put any bulbs in. I took the...
Doing some service on new to me farm pro 2425. I have a spin on new fuel filter that came with tractor, but it looks like it still has the cartrige filter w/housing inplace. I'd like to keep the housing if there's a cross reference filter. If not, is there anything else I need to use the spin...
I'm new to diesel & just bought my first Farm Pro 2425. I'm a little confused about the decompression lever coming out the lower center dash. What is its primary use? Will it run with lever in decompress ? Does it return to normal when started or manual return. I've not turned this and tractor...
I have a drive shaft that has came apart at the yoke that attached to bush hog. The 4 way joint & bearings are missing. Is this something I can buy at TSC and repair myself? Or do I need to take & have pressed in. ?
I'm new to some of the terminology and uses on some tractors with a over abundance of levers. I get the live pto , draft etc. , but curious what the shuttle shift is and use? The two stage clutch & use. I'm sure there's others although that's two that come to mind first.
Found a Farm Pro 2425 with 211 hours. It's in vgc starts easy, runs smoothand comes with a 5' bush hog. Only problems is hood latch , leak in top radiator hose and bush hog drive shaft needs a yoke bearing. In looking for an idea on value?
Just got a farm pro 2425 and still sorting things out. I've noticed the 3pt hitch that has a 500 lb bush hog attached tries to slam down when handle lowered. I can ease it down if I lightly ease handle. The hitch seems to go up extra high when lifted and throttle recede up. I've seen the knob...
Hello to all the members. This looks to be a great forum. Just bought my first diesel & first 4wd Chinese tractor. I'm still trying to figure out all the levers and doing some minor service & repairs.
