I’d honestly start by pulling the left hub/spindle apart to see what the clicking noise is. Hopefully it’s just a matter of replacing bearings / seals but it’s hard to say without getting into it. Overall the 4100’s are solid tractors, I have 4500 hrs on mine and it’s still going strong.

Well that’s unfortunate.. I’ll have to do some reading in the manual to better understand how it’s put together. I got to rebuilt automatic transmissions in college so the whole hydraulic clutch pack is familiar to me.

More progress today! Freshened up the black paint Got the fenders back on The wiring was badly chafed and the plugs were very brittle but I think I’ve got the wiring about dialed in.

Finally got the 226D back out of the shop for a wash! Now that a lot of the dirt and grime is off I can freshen up some of the black paint before this thing starts going back together.

Finally got a chance to work on the 226D today. Fixed the 4wd drop box and got the clutch installed. Also replaced the release bearing, pilot bushing, and front driveline tube. I’m just incredibly happy it’s starting to look like a tractor again. [emoji1362]

Finally got the 186D done today. As you can see it was definitely time for new seals and collars. Got some fresh seals and collars installed and refilled with some 90wt gear oil and so far it seems to hold. Gave it a quick wash since gear oil managed to get everywhere in the process. [emoji28]
