Had a scare hauling my B2601 Monday. Construction area with concrete barriers. Traffic suddenly stopped. ABS kicked in on truck (Ram 2500). I'm sure trailer brakes probably locked up but I was able to stop in time. I count it as experience I've rarely had to emergency stop like that while towing...
Update. He's finally back to his old self and health. I visited last weekend and checked it out. Looks gtg except needs new front tires. I hope to pick it up in the next couple weeks.
My well is about 70' from where the main line enters my basement where the pressure tank and switch are. Can I connect a line at the well for irrigation? Or would this somehow affect how the pressure system functions?
Thanks for the additional input. He's looking to get around $3k for it, btw. He also has a Ford, maybe 2000? He said similar HP. But no power steering so that likely means my wife can't bush hog with it. She does most of that.
If we weren't about to spend all our money building a house we'd...
Thanks. I found that and found operating manual. I've read pretty much everything I can find. It's hard searching for it since there seems to be a bigger following for the late 50s early 60s 830. Plus I don't think there were all that many produced.
A friend is thinning his herd and I need a bigger bush hog and ground engagement machine.
What can y'all tell me about these tractors? Easy to work on? Parts available? Is gear tranny like a car manual tranny? Independent PTO means it's not tied to the clutch? Anything else I need to know? I...
Thanks, I didn't realize that.
I found a parts diagram at messnick. It labeled it as ford/new Holland.
But I think from that diagram the top plate, right above the tines might come off if I remove all the accessible nuts on the ends. I'll try that tomorrow.
I've got this old rake I picked up at auction years ago. It has several tines that are bent or broken. I can't figure out how to replace. It seems they have no bolts through them, they just get squeezed between 2 plates.
The problem is there is no way to get to the nuts for the bolts in the...
I had issues with the laptop I was running it on. They told me of a setting to change so ot would run with the built in graphics. I think it was a render setting. Check their knowledge base. I'll see if I can still open my old support ticket.
Ah, I found it. See Troubleshooting 3D Camera View...
I took a hiatus from TBN. Nothing to do with politics, etc. I just got busy with other stuff.
Upon returning I noticed a big change regarding attacks on each other. There were always political arguments and these were usually stopped, deleted, whatever. What I see now is more personal attacks...
I have one of the mixers, not sure which. 3.5 cu ft, iirc.
I had to start with it vertical so it could overcome startup load then lower towards horizontal to mix. Sometimes had to give it a start by rotating by hand as well. Managed to mix a bunch of 80 lb bags before the motor completely died...
Congrats. I've had mine for 6 or so years and loving it.
The FEL can be though to get smooth. I've gotten a lot detter with it.
That wimpy flat strip that holds the tiny toolbox won't hold anything bigger. I got a piece of angle steel from home depot and ran it parallel with the factory...
You mentioned using a phone as hot spot. Are your phones the only internet you have? If so mesh is pointless.
You do realize weboost will likely cost you around $600. And you're cheap.
Agreed nice work.
I was thinking along the same lines. I'd love to get a grapple, but buying the grapple, hydraulics for 3rd function, ssqa conversion and I don't weld = $$$$
How big and deep of a pond is required so fish don't freeze? That would be the first thing I'd research if I was in a climate such as yours.
There are likely state resources to help your research.
Well, crap. I thought that issue was only on the 5.7. My wife's Durango failed at 99k. Got lucky as it was one of the few years with 100k drive train warranty.
I find it unbelievable that so many need to respond to a troll who thinks he's the only real farmer on TBN and a city boy who has a million opinions about things he knows nothing about.
Some good advice here. Hopefully you took action quickly enough that no harm comes.
One other action to be safe in the future, for account security don't use any real maiden name. This is often asked, but it is just to verify what's on file. Use a city name or teacher's name or something...
I used one of these. Tactical Ammo/Utility Box
The top section holds pins, clips, nuts, etc. I like having the lift out tray so most common used items, pliers, screwdriver and adjustable wrench, don't end up buried in the bottom.
I saw Meat at a small club in a casino in Vegas. I think it was called cocktails and rock tales. He chatted with the audience, told some stories and sang some songs. It was really fun event.
I've loaded the heck out of my B2601 and never noticing lack of power uphill or otherwise. Loaded tires, box blade as ballast and bucket full of gravel or heavy load on forks no issues. I generally run in M and about 2200 RPM. I don't know how much extra weight is in your cab but that's the only...
I went through all this when I started designing my house. I've used Autocad LT in the past for electrical diagrams but nothing mechanical. I was an occasional user of draftsight but no where near proficient, especially for mechanical drawings.
I tried draftsight and quickly realized that...
You have 2 locations in your profile. Are you talking about Florida or Massachusetts?
Mini split doesn't make sense to me for 6 rooms. I'd investigate installing air handler (furnace or heat pump) and ducts in attic.
Aa far as compressor in basement, I doubt you fan moves sufficient air to...
This.
Subs are unlikely to even call you back with quotes these days. Anyone worth hiring has more work than they can do right now. At least around here. Even if you can get subs, you are their absolute lowest priority. They have to answer to contractors that are their bread and butter.
Anyone seen issues with pictures not displaying. I see them in preview like in the thread listing but not in the thread itself. Just happened today.
Funny thing is I can still see pics I've looked at before today.
BTW, I'm running android.
Didn't Nesmith start MTV?
Answered my own question.
From wiki:
He created one of the first American television programs dedicated to music videos, PopClips, which aired on Nickelodeon in 1980. He was asked to help produce and create MTV, but had prior commitments with his production company.
I was thinking about something like this https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-carry-all
Steel plate bolted to bottom with receiver bolted to the plate then form with plywood and pour in concrete.
Been awhile since I've updated.
We have roof, siding on 3 sides, decks built and backfill done.
Inside electric is done, HVAC guy has to come back for a couple small things, but my plumber disappeared after doing about 1/2 the job. Guess I'll be finishing that.
I have an old beater MTD with a Briggs OHV engine. It's been sitting for 6 months or so while I got around to changing drive belts. Now it won't start. I was thinking junk battery since no one sells a decent battery for these things any more. Well, battery that I know works and jump won't start...
Somehow a log found it's way above the axle and into the engine area. As far as I can tell only damage is neutral switch bracket, bent oil filter, and trashed fender and taillight.
So, all framed and sheathed. Called for inspection tomorrow.
Well driller finally worked me in. The went 88' to bedrock and started casing yesterday. They're now working on casing and sealing, then start drilling rock.
Here's my buddy J perched on the porch overhang. He got a roofer friend out today to install all the roof sheathing for $500. Gladly pay that so I could stay on the ground.
A few more sheets of zip, a little more blocking and hurricane clips and I can get rough framing inspection. Have to get...
I bought a new truck and need to add a bed liner. My last truck had factory (dealer) plastic slide in liner. I both loved and hated that stuff slid in it. Great for sliding heavy stuff around or just shoving stuff from front to back to unload. But then a real pain when I didn't want stuff moving...
Sorry but not tractor towing, it's a new camper.
Truck numbers:
GVWR 6900
RGAWR 3900
FGAWR 3700
Trailer:
Dry 5560
Dry hitch 560
Gross 7250
CAT Scale:
Front 3280
Rear 3640
Trailer 5620
I didn't drop the trailer to check tongue weight since I was over GVWR. In the truck was me, wife and 3...
Told you it would be slow. But finally an update. A couple neighbors came over a few weeks ago and helped set the LVL floor beams. A friend came today and helped set half the floor trusses.
Anyone else having issues with the app?
I launch it and it immediately closes. Was working earlier today. No updates have been done on the phone. I tried a reboot.
Guess next I'll try uninstalling and re-installing next.
Brief background:
We bought our land to work towards retirement about 3 years ago. The plan was pay cash for land and build our house with cash for debt free retirement and have more money to save for retirement.
The land had an old mobile home on it that we rehabbed to make it livable. This...
Does anyone know if there is a way when using the Google site search to sort results by date? Would this hurt matching? Can quotes be used or old school Boolean (+, -, etc.)? - Google has moved away from these
Is 5.3.4 the latest Android app?
Not very happy with it.
It used to open in last viewed area. For me that was either subscribed or today's posts.
Also no pictures that are a week or so old show inline. There's a place holder and if I click it the pic shows but not showing in the thread. I...
I have a Husqvarna 455 50cc saw. .325 pitch 18" bar.
What is a good replacement bar and blade? There are so many brands out there. I was thinking of going with Oregon, thoughts? Also, what's the max bar length that saw can handle?
I'd like to pick up a new set of blades for my Land Pride RCR1548. Also I have an old Ford landscape rake that need some new tines.
Any recommendations for good sources? I Googled and got plenty of hits at least on the RC but very little on the rake. I have no idea what vendors are reputable...
The app keeps starting with me logged out. Is there a setting to stay logged in? I was previously logged in for over a month now I have to log-in daily.
I'd like to find a decent used unit. I have looked at all the <$400 units and are all plastic axial pumps. I'd like a brass triplex but they are spendy.
I found a used unit with Honda industrial motor and brass triplex pump for $250. The concern is it was a Home Depot rental unit. So, it has...
I'd like to hear opinions from people experienced with cattle on this article.
How Modern Homesteaders Can Make Money in the (Live)Stock Market
Sound like maybe rose colored glasses? Do these numbers sound real?
This dead grass is the exact outline of the tank. It has been a bit dry and there's only 6" or so of dirt above the tank but we've had worse dry spells and never seen this.
Darnit I can't find the good listings. There's a guy in town that has stuff listed every day. Often there's a picture of a pile of junk and a title of something that is supposedly in that pile.
Some of my other favorites are "trailors" and "for sell".
Edit found him:
Post Hole diggers...
I have several questions about brakes. I have an 18' trailer with dual 3500# axles.
The breakaway battery reads 0V. I'll try charging but if I'm reading 0 I'm thinking it is dead. Does that sound right? Looks like replacement battery is around $20 but a new kit is just over $30. I'm thinking of...
Not exactly equipment, but process.
We need to take down 20-30 trees. Some are where the house will go some are yard and garden areas. I think I'll likely just cut them down. But what to do with stumps? My tractor won't pull stumps. So in yard areas I don't mind hiring/renting a grinder. But...
Yes, I know it doesn't count until there are pics...
Delivered today. Got to spend an hour playing with loader and brush cutter. I am going to really enjoy this.
May get back out to the property this weekend and get pics and work some more. That is if we ever have another day without rain...
Got 0% approval and dealer is getting my(our) new B2601 in the next couple days:dance1:. I have the best wife ever:D. She got on here, read a bunch of posts and said no Branson and BX is too small.
Still need to decide on the extended warranty and insurance.
We wont put many hours on it over...
Branson 2400h vs Kubota BX2670 vs Kubota B series
I can get both tractors for about the same price. My wife is pulling for the 'bota since it seems anyone you talk to recommends them. Might have to do with the number of jobs they provide here in GA. I can get the BX with 0% financing so that...
I'm about to pull the trigger on the 2400h.
Please offer input on the following.
Price with loader $13,750
Price with 4' LMC box blade, 4' LMC brush cutter and trailer $16,650
Do these prices seem good?
Is LMC a decent brand or should I buy separate?
Should I have dealer put water in...
Been lurking for a year or so. It was time to join. I'm currently shopping for a CUT and learning lots.
Thanl you to the existing members for all I've already learned.
